No full textDer Kunsthistoriker Peter Geimer zeichnet in seinem jüngsten Buch mit dem griffigen Titel „Die Farben der Vergangenheit“ die Entwicklungen und Veränderungen der „visuellen Repräsentation von Geschichte“ seit dem 19. Jahrhundert nach. Eröffnet wird die Darstellung mit kenntnisreich und flüssig geschriebenen Kapiteln zur Historienmalerei, die zeigen, wie sich die Malerei im 19. Jahrhundert mit dem Aufkommen der Idee, Wirklichkeit abzubilden, veränderte. Fortan galt es, detailliert und so genau wie möglich, Ereignisse wiederzugeben, die sich im besten Falle durch Zeitzeugen bzw. Augenzeugen oder originale Objekte belegen ließen.
