(k, d)-MEAN LABELING OF SOME DISCONNECTED GRAPHS

    No full text
The concept of mean labeling was introduced by Somasundaram and Ponraj. K-odd mean, (k,d)-odd mean labeling were introduced and discussed by Gayathri and Amuthavalli. K-mean, k-even mean and (k,d)-even mean labeling were further studied by Gayathri and Gopi. We have obtained (k,1)-mean labeling for some new families of graphs. We have introduced (k,d)-mean labeling and obtained results for some family of trees and for some special graphs. In this paper, we investigate (k,d)-mean labeling for some disconnected graphs. Here k and d denote any positive integer greater than or equal to 1

Synergistically active curcumin resveratrol solid lipid nanoparticles for treatment of melanoma

    No full text
Poorly soluble polyphenols such as curcumin and resveratrol have shown significant potential in the treatment of melanoma due to their multifarious roles in its pathogenesis. Furthermore, the combination of curcumin and resveratrol was found to demonstrate synergistic effects in other cancers; colorectal, breast cancer. However, the highly hydrophobic properties and the excellent barrier function of the skin lead to a very low percutaneous penetration of curcumin and resveratrol. In this context, topical solid lipid nanoparticles were introduced as a drug carrier to enhance the skin penetration of the aforementioned polyphenols and exploit their anti-cancer activity. Small, negatively charged curcumin and resveratrol loaded SLNs (Cur-Res SLNs) with a mean diameter of 180.17 ± 7.69 nm were prepared using high shear homogenization method. Cur-Res SLNs were found to be more stable up to 3 2 weeks under 4°C. In vitro release study showed that showed that release profile of curcumin was significantly low compared to resveratrol. Binding studies demonstrated that a significant amount of Cur-Res SLNs got bound to the skin, indicating that these SLNs are ideal systems for topical administration of curcumin, resveratrol and their combinations. ECIS measurements indicate that combination of curcumin and resveratrol has potential to stop cell migration of B16F10 melanoma cells. Both Cur-Res SLNs and solution of curcumin and resveratrol at the ratio of 3:1 demonstrated a strong synergism on the cytotoxicity of SK-MEL-28 cell line. However, one of the limitations of this study is low drug loading which is not adequate for the in vivo performances. Therefore, in future studies, formulation parameters of Cur-Res SLNs should be further optimized to increase the drug loading.ProQuest Traditional Publishing Optio

Treballs Finals de Grau de Física, Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2022, Tutors: Blas Garrido Fernández, Gayathri MathiazhaganPerovskite-based Light Emitting Diodes (PeLEDs) are the fastest-growing new generation of cost-effective and efficient multicolor LEDs. This work shows different deposition techniques involved in the manufacturing of PeLEDs and the making of a fully functional device. Individual layers have been characterized morphologically by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and optical properties have been measured by UV-Vis spectroscopy and PL spectra. Complete device performance has been analyzed by comparing its I-V curves. Short-term stability analysis has been carried out by monitoring current and electroluminescence (EL) at constant voltage over time. Treating the devices under controlled humidity conditions seems to improve PeLED performance. Results notify that post treatment might be a necessary step in elevating device efficiencie

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    No full text
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

This diploma thesis focuses on social media usage in B2B sales. Based on the systematic literature review conducted by the author, he has found out that recent researchers (Salo, 2017) suggest further research in the area of how and in which sales phase should various social networking sites, technologies and plugins used. To further fill this research gap, author decided to identify these social media and their usage among B2B salespeople in the so-called social selling process. The social selling process in this thesis applies mainly to acquiring new prospects and tangentially to taking care of existing clients (follow-up step). Author has chosen a qualitative research method via conducting 10 in-depth semi-structured interviews to reveal these instruments as well as motivation of a sales person on why to use social media in the selling process. The collected data was analyzed using Thematic analysis to ensure the right procedure and to identify main themes which crystalized into 2 main strategic approaches in social selling. These approaches (Push and Pull) include practical examples of concrete activities which sales people can use in their daily jobs and are presented with focus on practicality and ease of implementation. These also form the main contribution of author`s research. In the last part, author mentions challenges in social selling and recommended managerial implications for salesforce

Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohols by Polymer Supported V(IV) Complex Using O2

Polymer supported and unsupported oxovanadium(IV) complexes with 2,6-bis(benzimidazolyl)pyridine were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moment measurements, electronic, IR, ESR spectral studies, LC–MS and thermogravimetric analysis. Based on the results, an octahedral geometry was intended around V(IV) complexes. Polymer-anchored V(IV) complex catalyzed the oxidation of benzyl alcohols in acetonitrile with O2 as an oxidant. Several parameters were differed to optimize the reaction conditions. Under the optimized reaction conditions, benzyl alcohol oxidation confirmed 96% conversion with 100% selectivity towards benzaldehyde. The developed catalyst revealed excellent benzyl alcohol oxidation at moderate temperature in presence of oxygen making the reaction simpler and environmentally benign. The polymer anchored V(IV) complex showed excellent recyclability as compared to its unsupported analogue. Graphica
