La città liquida: il waterfront come generatore di creatività urbana
Full text linkLe nuove dinamiche produttive, gli interventi di sviluppo sostenibile e le domande di
conservazione del patrimonio architettonico che oggi investono le aree di waterfront delle
città rappresentano un importante spunto di riflessione in una fase in cui il tema della
rigenerazione delle “città d’acqua” sta aprendosi a nuove opportunità di trasformazione
urbana e territoriale, agendo in maniera attiva nello scenario della produzione della qualità
urbana.
La rilevanza assunta negli ultimi anni dalle trasformazioni urbane in area di waterfront
storici delle città ha, infatti, aperto nuove prospettive – e le conseguenti sfide – per la
ricerca sulle condizioni di rischio, sulle pressioni antropiche e sulle opportunità offerte
dall’armatura storica e identitaria. Le dinamiche di trasformazione e le necessità di
conservazione del patrimonio materiale e immateriale dei waterfront storici richiedono
che le indagini e le sperimentazioni progettuali portati avanti in Sicilia dalla “Carta del
Rischio a scala locale” puntino la loro attenzione cognitiva, interpretativa e diagnostica
alle aree costiere. Dovranno mutare gli strumenti analitici e progettuali rivolti al delicato
sistema urbano in cui la città di pietra e la città d’acqua si intersecano, producendo sinapsi
feconde ma anche delicate criticità, in quell’area urbana d’interfaccia liquida che riversa
il suo riverbero nell’intero contesto territoriale producendo opportunità di sviluppo e
connettendo il waterfront al sistema produttivo territoriale

This association is extremely important today at a time when Hyper-Cities and Hyper-Citizens have increased their interactive capacities. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
