Secretaria de Políticas de Promoção da Igualdade Racial (SEPPIR).The dissertation tries to understand how the quilombola women of the Puris construct representations about the beauty, relating these conceptions with the traditional knowledge regarding the beautification and care with the feminine body in this community. The starting point for the analysis is the category "snuffed out", formulated by Puris women as a designation of the fundamental characteristic for feminine beauty. Initially, it presents a historicization of the processes of territoriality and identity of the Quilombo Puris, thinking these processes from the time of the ancients until the present day. Then, from the analysis of oral reports, several elements are problematized: the intersectionalities that constitute the identity of these women; the possible interlocutions with Western representations of black beauty; some life stories and the conceptions of beauty formulated by these women; traditional knowledge of black aesthetics; the resignifications around the handkerchief and turban, as well as of the clothes, from the cotton produced to the use of the cheetah. Finally, as a sign of an epistemological exercise, the author constructs a narrative in which she reflects on her life history by relating the knowledge learned traditionally and those she has practiced at the university during the masters experience.Centro de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (CDS)Departamento de Antropologia (ICS DAN)Faculdade de Educação (FE)Faculdade UnB Planaltina (FUP)Instituto de Ciências Sociais (ICS)Programa de Pós-Graduação em Sustentabilidade junto a Povos e Territórios Tradicionais, Mestrado Profissiona

Fetal Safety in MRI During Pregnancy: A Comprehensive Review

    No full text
As medical imaging continues to expand, concerns about the potential risks of ionizing radiation to the developing fetus have led to a preference for non-radiation-based alternatives such as ultrasonography and fetal MRI. This review examines the current evidence on the safety of MRI during pregnancy, with a focus on 3 T MRI and contrast agents, aiming to provide a comprehensive synthesis that informs clinical decision-making, ensures fetal safety and supports the safe use of all available modalities that could impact management. We conducted a comprehensive review of studies from 2000 to 2024 on MRI safety during pregnancy, focusing on 3 T MRI and gadolinium use. The review included peer-reviewed articles and large database studies, summarizing key findings and identifying areas for further research. Fetal MRI, used alongside ultrasound, enhances diagnostic accuracy for fetal anomalies, particularly in the brain, thorax, gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems, with no conclusive evidence of adverse effects on fetal development. While theoretical risks such as tissue heating and acoustic damage exist, studies show no significant harm at 1.5 T or 3 T, though caution is still advised in the first trimester. Regarding gadolinium-based contrast agents, the evidence is conflicting: while some studies suggest risks such as stillbirth and rheumatological conditions, animal studies show minimal fetal retention and no significant toxicity, and later clinical research has not substantiated these risks. The existing literature on fetal MRI is encouraging, suggesting minimal risks; however, further investigation through larger, prospective and long-term follow-up studies is essential to comprehensively determine its safety and late effects

Авторская стилевая концепция и ее отражение впереводе (Заметки о переводах тетралоrии Х. Лакснесса “Свет мира”)

The tetralogy “World Light” presents for the translator greater difficulties than any other Laxness’ work because of the complexity and the deeply hidden character of the author’s stylistic conception. The stylistic peculiarities of the tetralogy are deeply rooted in the character of the scald Ólafur Kárason, who, in conformity with the author’s conception, embodies the poet “in puris naturalibus” and is at one and the same time both the leading character in the novel and also its author

The objective of this research work was to determine the relationship between family climate and learning achievement in students of the VI cycle in the English area of the Eduardo Añaños Pérez school, Ayacucho, 2021. Non-experimental, descriptive, quantitative, correlational research, population 43 students enrolled in the VI, sample 39, non-probabilistic, for simple convenience. The questionnaire "Family Climate Scale (FES) by R.H. MOOS" by the author Moos, Moos and tricket (1974) adapted by Huaman (2020) was used with 40 items to mark with V = true and F = false, variable II was requested the notes record to the teacher in charge, the data was processed with the SPSS 25 program, Spearman's Rho Statistic. As a result, the Spearman Rho test reflects a very high favorable correlation with a correlation coefficient of 1.000 and a significance level of 0.000 less than 0.01, rejecting the null hypothesis (Ho) and admitting the alternate hypothesis (Ha) which raises the significant correlation between the variables with a Spearman Rho of 0.841 evidencing a very high favorable correlation. The direct relationship between the variables is then demonstrated, the more favorable the family climate, the better the learning achievements.Escuela Profesional de Lenguas ExtranjerasMetodologías y evaluación educativ

Management of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction: challenges in patients with atrial fibrillation, renal disease and in the elderly

    No full text
Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) is an increasing global pandemic affecting more than 30 million individuals worldwide. Importantly, HFrEF is frequently accompanied by the presence of cardiac and non-cardiac comorbidities that may greatly influence the management and prognosis of the disease. In this review article, we will focus on three important comorbidities in HFrEF; atrial fibrillation (AF), advanced renal disease, and elderly, which all have a paramount impact on progression of the disease, management strategies, and response to therapy. AF is very common in HFrEF and shares many risk factors. AF aggravates heart failure and contributes to HFrelated adverse clinical outcomes; hence it requires special consideration in HFrEF management. The kidney function is largely affected by the reduced cardiac output developed in the setting of HFrEF, and the neurohormonal feedback effects create a complex interplay that pose challenges in the management of HFrEF when renal function is significantly impaired. Cardiorenal syndrome is a challenging sequela with increased morbidity and mortality thereby reflecting the delicate and complex balance between the heart and the kidney in HFrEF and renal failure conditions. Furthermore, patients with advanced renal failure have poor prognosis in the presence of HFrEF with limited treatment options. Finally, aging and frailty are important factors that influence treatment strategies in HFrEF with greater emphasis on tolerability and safety of the various HFrEF therapies in elderly individuals

Direct Oral Anticoagulants in Special Patient Populations

    No full text
Anticoagulants are a cornerstone of treatment in atrial fibrillation. Nowadays, direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are extensively used for this condition in developed countries. However, DOAC treatment may be inappropriate in certain patient populations, such as: patients with chronic kidney disease in whom DOAC concentrations may be dangerously elevated; frail elderly patients with an increased risk of falls; patients with significant drug–drug interactions (DDI) affecting either DOAC concentration or effect; patients at the extremes of body mass in whom an “abnormal” volume of distribution may result in inappropriate drug concentrations; patients with recurrent stroke reflecting an unusually high thromboembolic tendency; and, lastly, patients who experience major hemorrhage on an anticoagulant and in whom continued anticoagulation is deemed necessary. Herein we provide a fictional case-based approach to review the recommendations for the use of DOACs in these special patient populations

Marulić's Tropology in the Light of Patristic Allegoresis (III)

The paper “Marulić’s Tropology in the light of Patristic allegoresis (III)” is the third part of a text of the same name already published. It analyses Marulić’s allegorising of Biblical events in the prose conclusion to the poem entitled Tropologica Dauidias exposition accompanying Cantos VII and VIII of the Davidiad. The allegorised Biblical events that related to David’s reign in Hebron, the move to conquered Jerusalem after the ending of the war among the tribes of Israel and the sequence of great victories over the neighbours are compared in this work with the Latin texts of church teachers who were also occupied with these events from the viewpoint of the methodological approach mentioned above. From this angle, the sources on which the author relied are identified, the nature of allegoresis in the said part of the text is explained, and the biblical loci that were not allegorised before Marulić are registered. Along with church fathers and teachers Rabanus Maurus, Walafridus Strabo and Angelomus Luxoviensis, who were engaged with the interpretation of the same biblical contents, Marulić’s Tropology shows points of contact with other authors and texts in which the psalms and other items from the Bible are interpreted. However, the author of the Davidiad endeavours to be independent, and his allegorical solutions are clearly close to or coincide with the church authorities only if they correspond to the ideas of the whole of his Tropology. The endeavour to be as independent as possible, within the framework of the genre and the approach, can be seen in the sequence of new allegorically treated contents, in the reinterpretation of traditional etymologies and the search for new solutions, as well as the desire for the whole of the text of the Tropology to be as tightly composed as possible. Also to be seen is the wish to surpass the traditional procedures of allegoresis, based on words and sentences, by deduction of the spiritual meaning at the level of supra-sentential units. A special feature of the markedly moralistic approach is the idealism in those solutions in which the historical sense is relativised as if it were derived from the spiritual. The paper also draws attention to those places that in the hexameters differ from the Biblical model or restylise it, but which can be contextualised in the tradition of Christian exegesis in the Latin and illuminated from this angle. Among other things, the paper points out that Marulić’s reminiscence annales vetusti from Canto VII related to the Latin translation of the work Jewish Antiquities of Flavius Josephus. Several examples from the Tropology and the two cantos mentioned are used to draw attention to the very fruitful encounter of Marulić with this historian, whom the church writers appreciated, consulted and quoted. Particular attention is devoted to the establishment of the presence and in-tensity of the allegorical discourse in the poem from the beginning to the end of Canto VIII, bringing out the most transparent places. From this point of view it is established that the key contents from several of the proems of Davidiad, such as opus arcanis sacratum mysteriis; e puris sacrati fluminis undis or colitis Iordanis fluminis undas, which support the topos of the contrast of ancient and Christian poetry, are not of a formal nature. After they are authenticated in the texts of the Patristic tradition in the range of their meanings, the work determines that they are first-rate statements of the allegorical discourse and signals of a different determination of the kind of the poem. From this perspective, an analysis is given of several sections of the text in which the secret is clearly derived after the explication of the historical sense, as in Canto IV, where in the place name that can be translated as the Rock that splits (Petra diuidens) the poet sees Christ on the judgement day or on the basis of the etymology of Jerusalem at the end of Canto VII reads a vision of the Catholic Church. He moralises the scene of the mutilation of the Assyrian horses as the repression of physical urges in Canto VII. There are also the places in which the replacement of the historical by the mystical code can be seen, as ain the scene of David’s emissaries with the men of Jabesh in Canto VII and the depiction of Ebal and Gerizim, mountains of damnation and blessedness, in Canto I
