Opisane zostało po raz pierwszy przez Solomona Hakima w 1965 roku (zespół Hakima-Adamsa). Przyczyny zespołu Hakima-Adamsa upatruje się w zaburzeniu wchłaniania płynu mózgowo - rdzeniowego. Wystąpienie choroby czasem jest poprzedzane urazem głowy. Wodogłowie normotensyjne cechuje triada objawów (tzw. triada Hakima). Stosuje się leczenie operacyjne – implantację zastawki niskociśnieniowej z wytworzeniem połączenia komorowo - otrzewnowego. Autorzy przedstawiają opis przypadku klinicznego 61-letniego pacjenta leczonego operacyjnie w Klinice Neurochirurgii, Neurotraumatologii i Neurochirurgii Dziecięcej Szpitala Uniwersyteckiego nr 1 im. dr A. Abstract Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) is a form of communicating hydrocephalus (hydrocephalus communicans) that runs with normal pressure of cerebrospinal fluid with periodic advances. First described by Solomon Hakim in 1965 (Hakim-Adams syndrome). Hakim-Adams syndrome causes of the disorder is seen in the absorption of cerebrospinal fluid. The disease is sometimes preceded by a head injury. NPH is characterized by a triad of symptoms (Hakim’s triad). The difference between the objectives sought by the author and his publishers and their respective cultures would partly explain the dissimilarities between the two generic organizations.This contribution proposes to confront the generic classification made by the author of its own texts to one made by his publishers in the following stories: Tafunast igujilen,  Lexdubegga et Sut taddart

    Bringing Deep Learning at the Edge of Information-Centric Internet of Things

    Various Internet solutions take their power processing and analysis from cloud computing services. Internet of Things (IoT) applications started discovering the benefits of computing, processing, and analysis on the device itself aiming to reduce latency for time-critical applications. However, on-device processing is not suitable for resource-constraints IoT devices. Edge computing (EC) came as an alternative solution that tends to move services and computation more closer to consumers, at the edge. In this letter, we study and discuss the applicability of merging deep learning (DL) models, i.e., convolutional neural network (CNN), recurrent neural network (RNN), and reinforcement learning (RL), with IoT and information-centric networking which is a promising future Internet architecture, combined all together with the EC concept. Therefore, a CNN model can be used in the IoT area to exploit reliably data from a complex environment.     Poétique et diversité générique dans l’œuvre de Belaid At Ali : pionnier de l’écriture kabyle moderne

    Les études menées sur l’œuvre de Belaid At Ali ont établi qu’une grande partie de ses textes trouve sa source dans la littérature orale kabyle et que certains titres renvoient à des classiques de ce patrimoine ancestral. Notre contribution met en exergue quelques positionnements de l’auteur face à cette tradition et les différents procédés littéraires qu’il a mis en œuvre pour écrire ses textes.Studies carried out on the work of Belaid At Ali (1909-1950) establish that a significant part of his texts are inspired by and go back to the Kabyle oral literary tradition and that certain titles refer to the classics of this ancestral oral heritage. Our contribution aims at highlighting some positions of the author concerning this tradition and the different literary processes he used to produce his texts

    49p.;30cm.(+cd)Authors and women's rights pioneers Lorraine Hansberry and Ama Ata Aidoo are known for dealing with daring issues that challenge the political systems of their countries. Their writings are mirrors that reflect the bitter reality of women and the African communities in the world. This piece of research falls within comparative African and Afro-American literatures. It handles Ama Ata Aidoo's 1964 play The Dilemma of a Ghost and Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun (1959). It discusses the issues of patriarchy and gender resistance in both plays. To reach our purpose and to support our premise, we rely on Feminist Theory: From Margin to Center (1984), a book written by the African American author and feminist activist bell hooks. The basic premise is that both Ama Ata Aidoo and Lorraine Hansberry converge in their depiction of African and Afro-American women of the postcolonial Africa and postwar America as victims of patriarchy, but more as resistant to it.     New IoT proximity service based heterogeneous RFID readers collision control

    Purpose – Internet of Things’ (IoT’s) first wave started with tracking services for better inventory management mainly using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. Later on, monitoring services became one of the major interests, including sensing technologies, and then more actuation for remote control-type of IoT applications such as smart homes, smart cities and Industry 4.0. In this paper, the authors focus on the RFID technology impairment. They propose to take advantage of the mature IoT technologies that offer native service discovery such as blutooth or LTE D2D ProSe or Wifi Direct. Using the automatic service discovery in the new framework will make heterogeneous readers aware of the presence of other readers and this will be used by the proposed distributed algorithm to better control the multiple RFID reader interference problem. The author clearly considers emerging Industry 4.0 use case, where RFID technology is of major interest for both identification and tracking. To enhance the RFID tag reading performance, collisions in the RFID frequency should be minimized with reader-to-reader coordination protocols. In this paper, the author proposes a simple distributed reader anti-collision protocol named DiSim that makes use of proximity services of IoT network and is compliant with the current RFID standards. The author evaluates the efficiency of the proposal via simulation. Design/methodology/approach – In this paper, the author proposes a simple distributed reader anti-collision protocol named DiSim that makes use of proximity services of IoT network and is compliant with the current RFID standards. The author evaluates the efficiency of the proposal via simulation to study its behavior in very dense and heterogeneous RFID environments. Specifically, the author explores the coexistence of powerful static readers and small mobile readers, comparing the proposal with a standard ETSI CSMA method. The proposal reduces significantly the number of access attempts, which are resource-expensive for the readers. The results show that the objectives of DiSim are met, producing low reader collision probability and, however, having lower average readings per reader per time. Findings – DiSim is evaluated with the ETSI standard LBT protocol for multi-reader environments in several environments with varied levels of reader and tag densities, having both static powerful RFID readers and heterogeneous randomly moving mobile RFID readers. It effectively reduces the number of backoffs or contentions for the RFID channel. This has high reading success rate due to the avoided collisions; however, the readers are put to wait, and DiSim has less average readings per reader per time. As an additional side evaluation, the ETSI standard LBT mechanism was found to present a good performance for low-density mid-coverage scenarios, however, with high variability on the evaluation results. Research limitations/implications – To show more results, the author needs to do real experimentation in a warehouse, such as Amazon warehouse, where he expects to have more and more robots, start shelves, automatic item finding on the shelve, etc. Practical implications – Future work considers experimentation in a real warehouse equipped with heterogeneous RFID readers and real-time analysis of RFID reading efficiency also combined with indoor localization and navigation for warehouse mobile robots. Social implications – More automatization is expected in the future; this work makes the use of RFID technology more efficient and opens more possibilities for services deployment in different domains such as the industry which was considered not only in this paper but also in smart cites and smart homes. Originality/value – Compared to the literature, the proposal offers the advantage to not be dependent on a centralized server controlling the RFID readers. It also offers the possibility for an existing RFID architecture to add new readers from a different manufacturer, as the readers using the approach will have the possibility to discover the capabilities of the new interaction other RFID readers. This solution takes advantage of the available proximity service that will be more and more offered by the IoT technologies

    Individual vigilance profiles in flocks of house sparrows (Passer domesticus)

    Individual vigilance against threats typically decreases with group size. However, group size often explains a small amount of variation in vigilance suggesting that other factors such as individual differences might contribute. For instance, individuals could maintain different vigilance levels overall and also respond differently to variation in group size. We investigated individual variation in vigilance and its patterns of plasticity in flocks of house sparrows (Passer domesticus (L. 1758)). We carried out observations at one provisioned site, and used multiple observations of the same individuals (n = 14) in flocks of different sizes over two consecutive months. The typical decline in vigilance with flock size occurred at the population level. Controlling for food density, flock size, time of year, and sex, we documented consistent individual differences in various measurements of vigilance. Plasticity of vigilance adjustments to variation in flock size occurred for the frequency of high vigilance postures. Male sparrows with larger bibs, which signal higher dominance status, tended to spend less time vigilant and obtained food at a higher rate supporting a state-dependent explanation for the origin of individual vigilance profiles. Individual differences can contribute to explaining the large scatter in the relationship between vigilance and group size in many species.The accepted manuscript in pdf format is listed with the files at the bottom of this page.     Temporal variability of soil fertility indicators and sampling periods in Qubec

    An inadequate soil sampling time leads to difficulties in interpreting soil tests, to incorrect recommendations for soil amendments and fertilizers, and to inappropriate environmental protection restrictions. Soil samples may be collected from agricultural fields before, during or after the crop growth period. Since the time of soil sample collection can affect soil tests results, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of sampling time on measurements representativity of 15 fertility indicators in two fields located in La Pocatire (Qubec, Canada). The soils were of fine (G1) and medium (G2) textural groups and were sampled weekly for 33 weeks per year during four years. Data analyses included: descriptive statistics, time series decomposition, and time autocorrelation function (ACF). Since results of these analyses showed a clear seasonal effect only for Mehlich-3 extracted phosphorus (PM3), soil phosphorus saturation index (SPS) for both G1 and G2 soils, and for pHwater for G1 only, we recommend that the sampling calendar should be restricted to the first five weeks of spring (until the end of May) and to the entire fall period (starting in early September). Also, the temporal autocorrelation was four weeks on average. This implies that, for an initial year, whichever date is chosen for the sampling, the following annual sampling should be done within a four-week time window (i.e., two weeks before until two weeks after the initial sampling date).     APPLICATION OF THE METHOD GALDIT FOR THE CARTOGRAPHY OF GROUNDWATERS VULNERABILITY: AQUIFER OF CHAOUIA COAST (MOROCCO)

    This study focuses on the application of the new method, GALDIT, for the cartography of aquifer vulnerability due to seawater intrusion in the area of Chaouia coast (Morocco) which is characterized by intense agricultural activity and low depth of the groundwater. The method was developed by Chachadi and Lobo-Ferreira in 2001 after that modified in 2005 and is specific for coastal aquifers. The computing of the GALDIT index (GI) is based on six parameters: Groundwater occurrence (aquifer type); Aquifer hydraulic conductivity; Depth to groundwater level above the sea; Distance from the shore (distance inland perpendicular from shoreline); Impact of existing status of seawater intrusion in the area; and Thickness of the aquifer. This GALDIT is the indicator scores and summing them and dividing by the total weight for determining the relative role of each one. The results of this study show a vulnerability of the aquifer to the seawater intrusion with a high risk in the fringe littoral areas and areas in proximity to the estuary of Oum Er-Rbia River and can reach 3 km towards land.

    Isolation of entomopathogenic microorganisms from soil: study of the pathogenicity of an Aspergillus strain and its toxins against Galleria mellonella

    This study aims at finding an alternative to control bee enemies in order to protect this precious insect. Entomopathogenic microorganisms are isolated from the rhizosphere, and an Aspergillus strain was chosen to be tested against the wax moth Galleria mellonella and the poliniphagous beetle Trogoderma sp. The work of the first part was oriented towards the isolation of bacteria and fungi from soil and phenotypic identification of the fungal strain chosen. Then production and characterization of toxins produced by Aspergillus sp. by submerged fermentation using Maltose medium were done. The double extraction of the supernatant with dichloromethane and its separation by TLC allowed us to reveal the production of Ochratoxin A and Fumagillin. Biotests using different fungal suspensions (D1 = 5.2 * 10 3 sp/ml; D2 = 5.2 * 10 5 sp/ml, D3 = 5.2 * 10 7 sp/ml) and mycotoxins against the two pests allowed us to observe that the treatment did not affect Trogoderma beetle. By contrast, the wox moth was infected by the fungus. This result was confirmed by the qualitative and quantitative determination of the haemolymphatic metabolites which revealed a clear disturbance.
