Il rincrescimento dell'agente di Bernard Williams: un confronto con la colpa, il rimorso e altre forme di rincrescimento
This essay explores Bernard Williams’ notion of agent-regret, comparing it with guilt, remorse, and other forms of regret. I first highlight some features of the intentional structure of guilt (also in relation to shame) and remorse, and then proceed to the analysis of regret. I discuss several examples of regret, including Williams’ discussion of the truck driver who accidentally runs over a child. In agreement with Williams, I argue that agent-regret has a moral significance not captured by either guilt or remorse. If we generally feel guilty or remorseful for intentional actions or omissions, regret shows that we are emotionally attached even to the involuntary aspects of what we do. Agent-regret suggests that our concept of responsibility is broader than we think, and its phenomenology (as well as its potential action tendencies) may be indicative of an agent’s morality
The contribution reconstructs the cultural context in which the collaboration of Luigi Randanini, author in Roman dialect contemporary to Giuseppe Gioachino Belli, with the periodical Arti e lettere directed by Francesco and Benvenuto Gasparoni, takes place. Cytokeratin 20-expressing M cells in tonsils take up particulate antigen. A site for the delivery of vaccines against oral pathogens?
Quantitative and qualitative control of oral bacterial flora is a major issue in oral pathology and in the prophylaxis against cavities. Recent findings suggest that it is possible to induce local immune responses delivering antigens on palatine tonsils. M cells play an important role in the start of the immune response. These cells are located in the epithelia overlaying mucosal lymphoid follicles and are responsible for the uptake of particulate antigens. The identification of reliable markers for M cell is therefore extremely important. Since it has been reported that tonsillar immunization leads to the secretion of high levels of specific salivary antibody, we undertook a study to identify a marker for tonsillar M cells in order to plan strategies of oral immunization against oral pathogens. We studied cytokeratin 20 expression in rabbit tonsils by immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy. Cytokeratin 20 immunoreactive cells were observed in all samples examined. These cells were identified as M cells as they co-expressed vimentin, a well-known marker of rabbit M cells, and they actively uptook particulate material. It is therefore possible to hypothesize the use of tonsil M cells as a possible site for antigen delivery of particle-based vaccines against oral pathogens
Hyperthyroidism associated with primary cirrhosis. Two case reports
Only a single case of Graves' disease has been reported so far in Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC), whereas hypothyroidism is a rather common association. We report two cases of hyperthyroidism associated with PBC. A common pathogenic mechanism involving HLA II class antigens is suggested

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
