    No full text
AbstractWe give an answer to a problem of G. Isac and Th. M. Rassias concerning Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability of the linear mappings. A new characterization of ψ-additive mappings is also given

Molecular diagnosis and the Italian Board for ISAC

The Component Resolved Diagnostic (CRD) approach has been developed when highly purified or recombinant allergen molecules have become available. These molecules are the allergenic proteins toward which the specific and clinically relevant IgE immune response is directed. So, the identification of protein families and cross-reactivity patterns of importance in allergy have been possible. The Italian advisory BOARD for ISAC was born: to evaluate the advantages, disadvantages and placement in diagnosis of CRD studying its application in allergic patients; to facilitate the interpretation of molecular diagnostics for clinical allergists; to evaluate the effectiveness of CRD in improving diagnostic risk assessment and early preventive treatment of allergic diseases. In the last years, its fields of interest have been: the evaluation of the performance of CRD on multi-sensitized allergic patients with respiratory symptoms and on poly-sensitized athletes; the evolution of IgE repertoire directed to single allergenic components by evaluating allergic patients with different age at a molecular level; the relevance of results obtained using allergen microarray technique for describing the IgE repertoire in allergic patients by reviewing the main articles focused on CRD published in the last 2 years; the need for an educational program focused on this new diagnostic tool also through the creation of an exhaustive and interactive explanation of the laboratory report molecular allergy; the investigation of the performance and potential additional diagnostic values of the ISAC microarray in a real-life clinical setting, taking into account also the economic values

Verksamhetsbeskrivning enligt ISAC-metoden : En metodbeskrivning anpassad efter S-E-Bankens behov för systemutvecklingsmodellen SEBSUM

    No full text

    Systemeringsansats ISAC

    No full text

Kneser's theorem and the multivalued generalized order complementarity problem

    No full text
AbstractThe Generalized Order Complementarity Problem studied by Isac and Kostreva is extended to multivalued mappings satisfying a condition proposed by Kneser. Existence of solutions to a related fixed point problem leads to existence theory for the new type of complementarity problem. Some important applications include problems in lubrication and in economics in which functions are set valued

A multi-input UV-VIS airborne GASCOD/A4r spectroradiometer for the validation of satellite remote sensing measurements

    No full text
The present paper describes a UV-VIS spectroradiometer named GASCOD/A4r developed at ISAC-CNR for remote sensing measurements aboard stratospheric M55-Geophysica aircraft, flying up to 21 km. Obtained experimental data are used for retrieving of NO2, O3 and of other minor gases atmospheric content, applying the DOAS (Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy) method. UV actinic flux and J(NO2) are also derived. All these parameters are used for satellite data validation tasks. The specific results obtained during dedicated aircraft missions in different geographical areas have already been utilized for ENVISAT validation.JCR Journalope

Interlayer stress absorbing composite (ISAC) for mitigating reflection cracking in asphalt concrete overlays

    No full text
"This study deals with the design of a composite material which could effectively alleviate/mitigate the problem of reflection cracking in an AC overlay. After reviewing various case histories and having identified the problem areas in the treatments currently in use, a composite material consisting of two geotextile layers containing a thin viscoelastic rubber asphalt layer named, ""Interlayer Stress Absorbing Composite (ISAC)"" was proposed."To approach the design problem of the ISAC system effectively properties of the materials intended to be used in the system were first identified. Various models and laboratory testing procedures were used for this purpose. A Climate-Materials-Structural (CMS) pavement model was used to establish the pavement temperature range in Northern Illinois. A number of geotextiles were selected and tested for their engineering properties. Several samples of rubber asphalt were prepared by blending various ratios of crumb rubber with different types and ratios of asphalt cements. These materials were tested at different temperatures and the effects of temperature and rate of deformation on stiffness were investigated."After having selected the materials suitable for the ISAC system, based on their properties, a prototype ISAC system was fabricated in the laboratory and was then checked against slippage under an overlay with a vehicle making a sharp turn or applying sudden brakes. The computer program ""CIRCLY"" was used for this purpose. Testing equipment was developed to evaluate the interfacial shear strength and laboratory testing was performed to determine the shear strength of the fabricated ISAC layer under an AC overlay. Required stiffens was achieved in the ISAC core material by adding hydrated lime in the rubber asphalt."After completion of the component property testing program, the ISAC layer was fabricated and prepared for laboratory evaluation. A testing device was developed in the laboratory that simulated field conditions to evaluate an AC overlay over a cracked PCC slab with and without an ISAC system. The performance of the ISAC system was evaluated by comparing crack growth in the overlay of a control pavement section with that in an overlay over the ISAC treated PCC slab.Made available in DSpace on 2011-05-07T12:29:42Z (GMT). The non-existence of a regular exceptional family of elements. A necessary and sufficient condition. Applications to complementarity theory

    No full text
This paper is the second part of our recent work [Isac and Nemeth, J Optim Theory Appl (forthcoming)]. Our goal is now to present some new results related to the non-existence of a regular exceptional family of elements (REFE) for a mapping and to show how can they be applied to complementarity theory
