No full textThe proximity to the power apparatus has cast dark shadows on the literary work of Hermann Kant, who is regarded as one of the most read authors of the GDR. Valerio Furneri embeds Kant's life and work in the all-German context of the 20th century and reinterprets his classics such as Die Aula or Der Aufenthalt. The author does not pursue the claim to rehabilitate the GDR, nor to trivialise Kant's role in it. Instead, the attempt is made to look at Kant's entire work from a temporal distance and to re-evaluate it. Through his works, Kant was able to accompany and depict not only the German-German history, but also European history.Die Nähe zum Machtapparat hat dunkle Schatten auf das literarische Werk von Hermann Kant, der als meistgelesener Schriftsteller der DDR gilt, geworfen. Valerio Furneri bettet Kants Leben und Werk in den gesamtdeutschen Kontext des 20. Jahrhunderts ein und interpretiert vor diesem Hintergrund Klassiker wie Die Aula oder Der Aufenthalt neu. Der Autor verfolgt dabei weder den Anspruch, die DDR zu rehabilitieren, noch Kants Rolle darin kleinzureden. Stattdessen wird der Versuch unternommen, Kants Gesamtwerk aus zeitlicher Distanz zu betrachten und neu zu bewerten. German society, where are often considered marginal social groups. After, literary works written by Gastarbeiters are taken into account. Within this kind of literature, the scholar and writer Carmine Chiellino has identified five voices, characterized by the particular linguistic usages, the generation, the topics covered, and others. In this article it is also assumed the emergence of a sixth voice belonging to a new generation of authors of foreign origins who adopted German as written language, who dealt with different topics and became advocates of an intercultural literature

No full textTranslations play an essential role in the dissemination of academic and scientific knowledge. Furthermore, the comparison of source text and translation provides valuable insights into the use of linguistic resources concerning the purpose of communicating science. The paper highlights some issues which are relevant when translating Galileo Galileis Dialogo sopra i due massimi sistemi del mondo. The challenges of its translation into German concern, among other things, expressions that have a multifaceted spectrum of meanings and require interpretational decisions, which are presented and discussed by taking into considerations selected passages of the text in both languages.Übersetzungen spielen nicht nur für die Verbreitung wissenschaftlichen Wissens eine wesentliche Rolle, der Vergleich von Ausgangstext und seiner Übertragung in die Zielsprache ermöglicht auch wertvolle Einsichten in die Nutzung der Ausdrucksmittel der betreffenden Sprachen zum Zweck der Kommunikation über Wissenschaft.
Welche Fragen insbesondere bei der Übertragung älterer wissenschaftlicher Texte relevant werden, soll am Beispiel ausgewählter Passagen aus Galileo Galileis Dialogo sopra i due massimi sistemi del mondo diskutiert werden. Die deutsche Fassung dieser Streitschrift erscheint rund 250 Jahre nach dem Original und bringt nicht unerhebliche Herausforderungen für den Übersetzer mit sich. Der Vortrag stellt ein Forschungsprojekt vor, das unter anderem der Frage nachgeht, ob diese große zeitliche Distanz zu Anpassungen geführt hat und – falls ja – in welcher Weise diese mit dem Strukturausbau des Deutschen als Wissenschaftssprache zusammenhängen

No full textIl presente studio offre un contributo all’indagine della scrittura accademica in lingua tedesca come lingua scientifica straniera. L’obiettivo del lavoro è rilevare quali difficoltà riscontrano studenti italofoni nella scrittura di tesine in lingua tedesca, con particolare riferimento alle scelte linguistiche operate nella formulazione del sapere scientifico. In una prima parte vengono illustrate le premesse teoriche del lavoro, in particolare le categorie di analisi offerte dalla Pragmatica Funzionale quali procedure, azioni linguistiche e modelli di azione linguistica. Sulla base di queste categorie viene svolta l’analisi empirica, nella seconda parte del lavoro, su un corpus di tesine scritte in lingua tedesca da parte di studenti italofoni. Gli esempi estratti dalle tesine mostrano come alcuni aspetti dell’agire linguistico degli studenti siano particolarmente problematici, quali l’uso della deissi, di azioni linguistiche di riformulazione e di modelli di azione linguistica quali il “chiarire”
