No full textI am delighted to have found this little paperback in a favorite bookshop in Paris. I look forward to using it myself. It brings two of his best illustrators to a pupil's book of Florian's fables. The colored illustrations are not the only help for those of us trying to understand a sometimes difficult author. There are vocabulary notes, comments, and -- especially -- a short discussion of each fable's moral. These discussions are pleasantly candid, as in this comment on "La taupe et les lapins": "La fable de Florian est peut-être moins claire qu'elle n'y paraȋt" (55). As Bodemann notes in a very short description, the illustrations come as three panels per page. One panel often represents two fables. My favorites among these very small illustrations are "The Blind and the Lame" (18); "Two Bachelors" (48); "Owl and Pigeon" (83); and "Ass and Flute" (111). Do not miss the gigantic crocodile on 120! Vor dem Hintergrund einer bisher fehlenden originären Mesoethik entwickelt er mit einem Rekurs auf die Erkenntnisse der neueren Systemtheorie eine neue Unternehmensethikkonzeption. Diese ermöglicht erstmalig die Konzeption einer genuinen Unternehmensethik als strukturiertes Legitimitätsmanagement. Seit der Begründung der Betriebswirtschaftslehre Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts wird um die Sinnhaftigkeit und Möglichkeit einer fundierten Beschäftigung mit normativen Aussagen im Allgemeinen, sowie einer Forschungstätigkeit in der Domäne der Wirtschaftsethik im Speziellen, intensiv wie kontrovers gerungen. Dabei bleibt vor dem Hintergrund zahlreicher Unternehmensskandale und einer zunehmenden gesellschaftlichen Kritik an der Wirtschaftspraxis eine kritische Reflexion wirtschaftlichen Handelns hochrelevant – wobei allerdings die Frage zu stellen ist, wie eine wirtschaftsethische Beschäftigung für die BWL wissenschaftshistorisch informiert wie auch wissenschaftstheoretisch fundiert zu begründen wäre
Emergence of Goldstone excitations in stress correlations of glass-forming colloidal dispersions
No full textWe compute the dynamic correlations of the nonlocal shear stress at the liquid to glass transition in colloidal dispersions. Whereas Eshelby's elastic pattern is recovered independently of the dynamics, the Goldstone modes of the colloidal glass are diffusive, , because the transverse momentum is not conserved —excluding propagating transverse sound. Precursors of both, the Goldstone modes and the long-ranged, anisotropic stress correlations, can be observed in the colloidal fluid. The slow diffusive mode dominates the dynamics in the supercooled liquid for wave numbers with a correlation length which grows like the square root of the relaxation time τ. Time- and space-dependent stress correlations are anisotropic, decaying like . These results are derived within a hydrodynamic theory, generalising Maxwell‘s model to finite wave numbers, after the dynamics has been decomposed into potentially slow modes, associated with the order parameter, and fast microscopic degrees of freedom. Alternatively, hydrodynamic equations, closed by constitutive laws, can be used to predict the linear response of stress to an applied shear flow

<p>This dataset contains the simulation results and data evaluations for the journal publication "Eco-friendly ironmaking by biomass CO2 gasification: Process simulations for ecological and economic evaluation of CO2 recycling in direct reduction ironmaking" by Florian J. Müller, Stefan Jankovic, Josef Fuchs, Diana Dimande, Stefan Müller, and Franz Winter. That journal publication was accepted for publication in Energy Conversion and Management on the 7th of October 2025 and includes a link to this dataset.</p>
<h3>Context and methodology</h3>
<p>Eight mass and energy balances in IPSEpro 8.0 were created to investigate different direct reduction ironmaking routes. The mass and balancing data were exported from IPSEpro and analyzed in Excel.</p>
<ul>
<li>Two routes titled NGR-DRI show a classical process with Natural Gas Reforming as a benchmark process.</li>
<li>Six novel routes show how Biomass CO2 Gasification can replace Natural Gas Reforming. Those routes are called BCG-DRI.</li>
</ul>
<p>Explanations and interpretations of these data are available in the journal publication.</p>

<p>The data consist of three files:</p>

<li>Two PNG files that show how the mass and energy balances for NGR-DRI and BCG-DRI are organized in IPSEpro.

No full textInterview with Florian Bieber, lecturer in East European Politics at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England. Interview conducted in Ithaca, NY on March 13, 2009. Dr. Bieber has worked in Belgrade (Serbia) and Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina) for the European Centre for Minority Issues and has taught at the Central European University, at the University of Sarajevo and at the University of Bologna. He is also the author of a book about Serbian nationalism, entitled Nationalism in Serbia from the Death of Tito to the Fall of Milosevic (Muenster: Lit Verlag, 2005, in German), and another book, Post-War Bosnia: Ethnic Structure, Inequality and Governance of the Public Sector (London: Palgrave, 2006).
