Adsorption and Photo-catalytic Properties of Congo Red by Cobalt Doped Porous ZnO Prepared Through Hydrothermal Method

    No full text
ZnO and cobalt doped ZnO were prepared by hydrothermal method with zinc acetate dihydrate, cobalt acetate tetrahydrate and urea as raw materials and sodium citrate as surface modifier. Congo red (CR) was used as the pollutant model for adsorption and photo-catalytic experiments. Under the same conditions, the adsorption effect of cobalt doped ZnO with different urea content on CR was investigated, and the optimum urea content was determined. Under the same conditions, the adsorption and photocatalytic properties of cobalt doped ZnO prepared with the best urea content at different annealing temperatures were studied. According to the analysis of experimental data, the adsorption effect of Co doped ZnO with urea content of 8mmol and annealing temperature of 300℃ is the best, and the photocatalytic effect is also the best under the same conditions

Preparation of 3D printed silver nanocomposites and their antibacterial properties

    No full text
The 3D printed antibacterial polymer products were rapidly sintered to obtain by selective laser sintering with highly dispersed Nano-silver modified Kaolin powder and polyamide/polypropylene composite engineering material. The preparation method of polymer products not only shortens the preparation period, but also guarantees the precision and quality of the product as well as the slow-release function of the Nano-silver

Association between an Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Index and APOE ε4 Gene Dose

    No full text
abstract: Background We introduced a hypometabolic convergence index (HCI) to characterize in a single measurement the extent to which a person’s fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomogram (FDG PET) corresponds to that in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Apolipoprotein E ε4 (APOE ε4) gene dose is associated with three levels of risk for late-onset AD. We explored the association between gene dose and HCI in cognitively normal ε4 homozygotes, heterozygotes, and non-carriers. Methods An algorithm was used to characterize and compare AD-related HCIs in cognitively normal individuals, including 36 ε4 homozygotes, 46 heterozygotes, and 78 non-carriers. Results These three groups differed significantly in their HCIs (ANOVA, p = 0.004), and there was a significant association between HCIs and gene dose (linear trend, p = 0.001). Conclusions The HCI is associated with three levels of genetic risk for late-onset AD. This supports the possibility of using a single FDG PET measurement to help in the preclinical detection and tracking of AD.The article is published at http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.006716

Extraction of Anthocyanin from Eggplant Peel by Ultrasonic Assisted Method and Application in Cosmetics

    No full text
The anthocyanin of eggplant skin was extracted by ultrasonic assisted method. Single factor experiment and orthogonal optimization experiment were used to optimize the extraction factors of anthocyanin from eggplant peel. The results showed that the optimum extraction of anthocyanin from eggplant peel was obtained by orthogonal experiment under the condition of feed-liquid ratio of 13:15, time of 40 min, and temperature of 50ºC. The anthocyanin is stable by treating 1 min after 100ºC
