To compare an addiction severity score estimated from clinical records to addiction severity index (ASI) scores.
METHODS:
During April-May 2004, 31 patients treated in a therapeutic community in the Piedmont region (Italy) were interviewed using the ASI questionnaire and their clinical records were used to obtain severity scores in seven areas: physical health, occupational functioning, alcohol use, drug use, legal problems, family/social relationships, psychological health. Correlation, agreement, and discriminatory capacity of the clinical records score in correctly classifying persons with low or high severity were investigated using Spearman, Kappa coefficient, and receiver operating characteristics curves.
CONCLUSIONS:
Clinical records score showed good correlation, agreement, and discriminatory accuracy with respect to ASI scores, especially in the drug use and legal problems areas. Further research is suggested to study the use of the score in other settings

No full textTre sono le opere che narrano della vita di Christian Rosencreutz e dell’ordine da lui fondato: la Fama Fraternitatis, deß Löblichen Ordens des Rosencreutzes, la Confessio Fraternitatis, oder Bekandtnuß der löblichen Bruderschafft deß hochgelehrten Rosen Creutzes e la Chymische Hochzeit: Christiani Rosencreutz, anno 1459. L’itinerario di C.R. si muove da un convento sito in un luogo imprecisato della Germania, tocca Cipro, Damasco, Damcar, l’Egitto, Fez, la Spagna, altre nazioni non specificate, per concludersi nuovamente in un luogo non precisato della Germania.
Le conoscenze di C. R. al suo ritorno abbracciano non solo la fisica e la matematica, bensì anche i segreti della natura sotto il profilo alchemico. Sono dunque conoscenze di due tipi: essoteriche ed esoteriche. Esse si collocano tutte nell’ambito della scienza e della scienza della natura. Come per Bacone nella Nuova Atlantide, l’armonia tra le nazioni è da ricercarsi nella scienza di ogni tipo e nel suo progredire. Il viaggio di formazione che C.R. intraprende nelle regioni arabo-islamiche innesta le conoscenze medio-orientali su quelle classiche dell’occidente. On his return, C.R.'s knowledge not only includes physics and mathematics, but also the alchemic secrets of nature. Therefore, his knowledge is of two kinds, exoteric and esoteric, within the fields of science and the science of nature. As in Bacon's New Atlantis, the harmony between nations is to be found in all kinds of science and its development. The formation that C.R. undertakes in the Arab-Islamic regions grafts Middle Eastern knowledge onto classical Western knowledge. 400 years later, this is still Utopia
