No full textIn seinem preisgekrönten Buch „Liberalismus mit Gemeinsinn“ widmet sich der Islamwissenschaftler Michael Frey der politischen Philosophie Nassif Nassars. Diese wird in einen libanesischen Kontext eingebettet, steht jedoch für einen selbstkritischen Diskurs in der arabischen Welt allgemein und hat auch dem Westen etwas zu sagen. Für Nassar wie für Frey können die bevorstehenden globalen Aufgaben nur bewältigt werden, wenn ein Blick über den eurozentristischen Tellerrand hinaus gewagt wird und man sich über Begriffe der politischen Philosophie wie Gerechtigkeit, Freiheit, Recht und Toleranz transkulturell verbindlich verständigt. Der Thomasius-Club wird im Gespräch mit Frey unseren Blick erweitern und nach den Bedingungen und Angeboten kritischen Denkens in den gegenwärtigen arabischen Diskursen fragen
