“Akamaro k’indirimbo mu gutoza kuvuga neza no kunguka amagambo mu rubumbabaga nyarwanda: Urungano n’igipimo cy’urukundo za Rugamba Cyprien” (The Impact of Songs in Teaching the Art of Speaking Well and Acquiring Vocabulary in Rwandan Society: Urungano and igipimo cy’urukundo by Rugamba Cyprien) is a study guided by the general objective of evaluating the contribution of songs in teaching effective public speaking and enriching vocabulary within the Rwandan community. To achieve the set objectives, we selected two literary works by Rugamba Cyprien: Urungano and igipimo cy’urukundo. The methodology used to analyze these works was based on a literary criticism approach known as ijoranyandiko. Following the selection of the case studies, we applied different methods—namely umunozo, ikeshamvugo, isesengurangingo, and isesengurantego—to support our literary analysis and help us reach our goals. Through the analysis, we found that these songs promote values such as love, peace, and harmonious living within Rwandan society. The results of our study confirmed that the objectives were successfully met. Indeed, Rugamba Cyprien significantly contributed to fostering a culture of love, peace, and tolerance among Rwandans. This is clearly reflected in both songs, where the author emphasizes that love is fundamental to human relationships. One of the recommendations drawn from our findings is that students should form clubs dedicated to promoting Cyprien Rugamba’s literary works within Rwandan society

St. Maximus the Greek (Mihail Trivolis, Arta, ca. 1470–Maksim Grek, Moscow, 1556): The Insight into His Personal Euchology

    No full text
This text establishes a datum for claims that Maximus the Greek’s life-work was to protect and preserve ancient precepts for a personal devotional “space” against statist and imperial imprimatur. This task was accomplished through both his work as translator and as author of sacred devotional texts and hymns associated with Byzantine hymnography and the Eastern Orthodox Christian tradition. Notably, it is his inner veneration of the Holy Theotokos that marks the primary sensibility of the defence of this intense, inwardly-focused faith in direct communion with the Divine. Maxim’s defence of the Eastern Orthodox Christian tradition was accomplished by the special guidance of the Holy Spirit as his personal internal principle that he used not only in the prayer (hesychastic, ascetical) and in the theological works (hagiographical, liturgical), but also in the philological works (of editing, translating, redacting), and especially in the exegetical texts. Therefore, the strong Byzantine patristic and monastic thought as the basis of his contemplative practice, formed in the years spent at the Holy Mount Athos, were only one of the one of the important sources of his original Orthodox theology. Into detailed consideration are taken especially his prayers. Among them, the most important place is reserved for “The Kanon to the Holy and Divine Spirit Parakletos,” which reflects several possible influences, such as the Akathystos hymn, the Great Kanon, and the individual canon as was St. Constantin’s Kanon to St. Demetrius, all of which confirm the very archaic Byzantine and Slavonic sources that properly could serve Maxim for his Old Church Slavonic linguistic basis. Thus, his prayer is a highly original, monastic and deeply personal work that bears witness to his ascetic (hesychastic) practice. All of this tends to confirm that his grammatical and linguistic view of the Old Church Slavonic language was shaped well before his entrance to Muscovite Russia, and that not only was he unjustly accused of heretical mistakes, and thereby imprisoned, but he was, more importantly, completely misunderstood. Nevertheless, and despite his suffering, Maxim was, until the end of his life, arguing that his use of Slavonic language was guarded and, therefore, sacred

    No full text
IntroductionEnsuring a sustainable and responsible diet, particularly in the procurement of fatty products, holds paramount importance for early childhood development. Dietary fats significantly influence children’s growth and well-being, both in the short and long term. Schools and kindergartens play a pivotal role in shaping children’s dietary habits. This study aims to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze public procurement orders conducted by educational institutions.Materials and methodsOut of 1,126 public procurement orders, 197 met inclusion criteria, leading to the identification of 1,248 products categorized as sources of fats in children’s diets. The study conducted both quantitative and qualitative analyses on the identified products.ResultsCriteria commonly employed by purchasers were derived from product descriptions. While product composition, especially fat content and the absence of certain additives, received due attention, organoleptic characteristics criteria were frequently overlooked. Sustainable procurement criteria were given the least consideration. The study highlights a notable reliance on vegetable oils, predominantly rapeseed oil. However, it reveals a worrisome prevalence of animal-derived fats, including butter, mayonnaise, pork belly, and lard. Although plant-based fats constitute around 52.77% of total orders, the substantial presence of animal fats poses challenges to maintaining a balanced and healthy diet for children.ConclusionThe study underscores the necessity of establishing specific criteria for evaluating the quality of delivered products, especially fatty items, in educational settings. Standardized guidelines are crucial to promote healthier food choices, encourage sustainable diets, and ultimately enhance the overall health and well-being of children

IntroductionPublic procurement of food is key to ensuring proper nutrition with high-quality products in public institutions such as schools and kindergartens. However, it should not be considered a mandatory expenditure from public finances but rather an investment in health promotion.Materials and methodsA total of 1,126 public procurement orders processed by schools and kindergartens in Poland during the period from November 2022 to March 2023 were analyzed. Ultimately, 197 public procurement orders meeting the inclusion criteria were considered for analysis. Based on these orders, 2,753 food products classified as dairy and its derivatives were extracted. The ordered quantities of individual products were analyzed, as well as their descriptions (quality characteristics).ResultsCriteria related to composition were most commonly described, the most common criterion was the fat content and the absence of preservatives. On the second places were organoleptic characteristics, where taste and consistency expectations were most frequently specified. Sustainable public procurement criteria were the least frequently mentioned and were treated as highly marginal.ConclusionIntroducing minimum standards for the descriptions of dairy products in terms of organoleptic characteristics, composition features, and sustainability criteria will improve the quality of dairy products supplied to public institutions, particularly schools and kindergartens

This research implied that Price, Perceived Quality, and Interactivity greatly influenced consumer purchasing decisions on the TikTok Shop marketplace. This study examined how Price, Perceived quality, and Interactivity factors influence the customer’s Purchasing Decision. Sellers or marketers could also use this research to understand which factors positively and significantly influenced food product purchasing decisions on TikTok Sho

Proteomic analysis of the actin cortex in interphase and mitosis.

    No full text
Many animal cell shape changes are driven by gradients in the contractile tension of the actomyosin cortex, a thin cytoskeletal network supporting the plasma membrane. Elucidating cortical tension control is thus essential for understanding cell morphogenesis. Increasing evidence shows that alongside myosin activity, actin network organisation and composition are key to cortex tension regulation. However, owing to a poor understanding of how cortex composition changes when tension changes, which cortical components are important remains unclear. In this article, we compared cortices from cells with low and high cortex tensions. We purified cortex-enriched fractions from cells in interphase and mitosis, as mitosis is characterised by high cortical tension. Mass spectrometry analysis identified 922 proteins consistently represented in both interphase and mitotic cortices. Focusing on actin-related proteins narrowed down the list to 238 candidate regulators of the mitotic cortical tension increase. Among these candidates, we found that there is a role for septins in mitotic cell rounding control. Overall, our study provides a comprehensive dataset of candidate cortex regulators, paving the way for systematic investigations of the regulation of cell surface mechanics.
