Mixed approximation of eigenvalue problems : a superconvergence result
No full textWe state a superconvergence result for the lowest order Raviart-Thomas approximation of eigenvalue problems. It is known that a similar superconvergence result holds for the mixed approximation of Laplace problem; here we introduce a new proof, since the one given for the source problem cannot be generalized in a straightforward way to the eigenvalue problem. Numerical experiments confirm the superconvergence property and suggest that it also holds for the lowest order Brezzi-Douglas-Marini approximation

Sprofondata nei bassifondi di Argo, tra prostitute, vizi e disperazione, la principessa decaduta attinge dall'odio la forza per attendere il ritorno del fratello Oreste e convincerlo a vendicare il padre Agamennone perpetrando il più terribile dei crimini: il matricidio. La versione abkariana getta nuova luce sul mito classico e lo rigenera, svelandone i retroscena e dando voce a personaggi tradizionalmente ritenuti minori. L'edizione curata da Michela Gardini - docente di Letteratura francese presso l'Università degli Studi di Bergamo - presenta il testo originale a fronte ed è corredata da un'introduzione a firma della stessa curatrice e da una postfazione, in supporto alla lettura, della traduttrice Francesca Mazzella

Convergence of the mimetic finite difference method for eigenvalue problems in mixed form
No full textOptimal convergence rates for the mimetic finite difference method applied to eigenvalue problems in mixed form are proved. The analysis is based on a new a priori error bound for the source problem and relies on the existence of an appropriate elemental lifting of the mimetic discrete solution. Compared to the original convergence analysis of the method, the new a priori estimate does not require any extra regularity assumption on the right-hand side of the source problem. Numerical results confirming the optimal behavior of the method are presented. © 2010 Elsevier B.V
