O papel das redes sociais nas estratégias de divulgação da Intensify World

qualquer empresa, instituição, associação ou pessoa. Consideramos o tema relevante, porque, num
mundo em que se fala tanto das redes sociais e dos benefícios que estas trouxeram para as nossas
vidas, propomo-nos a perceber se funcionam como um meio de divulgação de informação e como um
meio de literacia de uma instituição particular de solidariedade social: a Intensify World.
A Intensify World é uma associação voluntária, tecnológica e recreativa, que assenta em quatro pilares,
por forma a ajudar os jovens: Educação, Solidariedade, Meio Ambiente e Tecnologia. Mas isto, por si
só, não nos diz verdadeiramente em que é que a associação atua, evidenciando a ausência de uma
estratégia ou plano de comunicação para divulgar os seus serviços ou as áreas concretas de atuação.
Com base nesta observação, identificamos ser este o maior problema (o facto de não conseguir
exprimir concretamente os seus serviços) de comunicação da organização, e comprometemo-nos, com
este projeto de ação, a tentar colmatá-lo através da utilização estratégica e eficaz das redes sociais
como um veículo de transmissão de informação, nomeadamente para dar a conhecer os serviços e
áreas em que atua e como atua a associação, ou seja, a sua função e missão. Visto que, atualmente,
as redes sociais são o meio onde as pessoas mais consomem informação, consideramos que seria o
meio ideal para pôr em prática este projeto de ação.
Neste projeto de investigação-ação, pretendemos identificar problemas de comunicação da Intensify
World (supra-referido), propor soluções, nomeadamente, a divulgação de vídeos sobre as áreas de
atuação da associação, implementá-las e monitorizar o seu resultado, com particular ênfase na
utilização de redes sociais.
Com base neste esquema, fomos capazes de perceber que as redes sociais são um bom veículo de
transmissão de informação e que a instituição, simplesmente, não as estava a utilizar da melhor forma,
não partilhando, até, conteúdos que os seguidores teriam interesse em ver.Today, more than ever, social networks are a central part of the communication of any company,
institution, association or individual. We consider the topic relevant because, in a world where there is
so much talk about social networks and the benefits they have brought to our lives, we set out to
understand whether they work as a means of disseminating information and as a means of literacy for a
private charity: Intensify World. Intensify World is a voluntary, technological and recreational organisation
based on four pillars to help young people: Education, Solidarity, Environment and Technology. But this
in itself doesn't really tell us what the association is working on, as it shows the absence of a
communication strategy or plan to publicise its services or specific areas of activity. Based on this
observation, we identified this as the organisation's biggest communication problem (not being able to
express its services concretely), and we undertook, with this action project, to try to overcome it by
using social networks strategically and effectively as a vehicle for transmitting information, namely to
publicise the services and areas in which it operates and how the association operates, in other words,
its role and mission. Given that social networks are currently the medium where people consume the
most information, we thought it would be the ideal way to put this action project into practice.
In this action-research project, we set out to identify Intensify World's communication problems
(mentioned above), propose solutions, namely the dissemination of videos on the association's areas of
activity, implement them and monitor their results, with particular emphasis on the use of social
networks.
Based on this scheme, we were able to realise that social networks are a good vehicle for transmitting
information and that the institution simply wasn't making the best use of them, not even sharing content
that followers would be interested in seeing
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
