In my master\u27s thesis, we examined how people in Slovenia consumed daily news during the pandemic. We focused on how this changed from 2020 to 2023 and how the newspaper Delo reported on these changes. We examined how the media consumption at Delo changed, how it adapted to these changes, and what measures it took to remain financially sustainable. As a result of the pandemic, many readers have begun using digital editions of newspapers instead of print versions. These shifts have changed the way people access information. It has also altered the way news outlets operate. To understand the changes and how Delo responded, we interviewed people from the newspaper Delo. They shared their thoughts on the changes from various perspectives. The interviews showed that Delo responded to the changed situation by switching to a digital subscription model, developing new content formats, and adapting its technical infrastructure to the needs of its users. They have created custom subscription packages, expanded their offerings to meet the needs of different groups of readers, and focused on providing more value and personalization for the user experience. Despite the growing use of the internet, newspapers continue to play an important role in the media landscape. Delo\u27s experience shows that the long-term sustainability of media organizations relies on consistent strategic decisions, readiness to embrace new technologies, long-term relationships with readers, and a resilient and sustainable business model

Static magnetic susceptibility, crystal field and exchange interactions in rare earth titanate pyrochlores

    No full text
The experimental temperature dependence (T = 2–300 K) of single crystal bulk and site susceptibilities of rare earth titanate pyrochlores R2Ti2O7 (R = Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb) is analyzed in the framework of crystal field theory and a mean field approximation. Analytical expressions for the site and bulk susceptibilities of the pyrochlore lattice are derived taking into account long range dipole–dipole interactions and anisotropic exchange interactions between the nearest neighbor rare earth ions. The sets of crystal field parameters and anisotropic exchange coupling constants have been determined and their variations along the lanthanide series are discussed.

The FONAC catalogue as a result of the FON project

    No full text
The technique for constructing the first version of the astrographic catalogue FONAC 1.0 based on the measurements of the FON project plates (the Golosiiv overlapping the northern sky) and the Astrographic Catalogue (Carte du Ciel) data is described briefly. The procedure of plate measurements with the PARSEC measuring machine as well as the methods of their reduction are considered. The results of comparing the FONAC 1.0 with other astrometric catalogues as well as description of the second version of the catalogue FONAC 2.0 are given. Value of the FONAC catalogue series on a background of the Post-Hipparcos astrometry is discussed. We express our deep thanks to Drs. G. A. Ivanov, L. K. Pakulyak, A. V. Sergeev, and T. P. Sergeeva for collaboration in constructing the FONAC catalogue and to Drs. V. M. Andruk and M. T. Pogoreltsev for scanning the FON plates and processing the scans

Building shape influence on insolation potential of facade envelope

In my graduation thesis I analysed the influence of building's floor plan shape on its insolation, or more precisely, on insolation of its vertical external envelope. Buildings were located on the area of the city of Ljubljana. The models of buildings were modelled using Google SketchUp 2016. Nine different models were defined, which were divided into two groups – buildings with simple (square, rectangular and circular) floor plan shapes and buildings with complex floor plans (shapes of O, H, U, T, Y and L). Analysis was carried out with the use of a Sunhours application. Insolation of the models was researched with changing theirs geometrical characteristics (height and floor plan dimensions). Insolation of analysed buildings was evaluated using two methods: comparison of the building's allyear cumulative insolation of its external envelope and comparison of the building's envelope area \ud normed potential of the insolation of its external envelope. I concluded that for evaluation of the buildings in terms of insolation, method with envelope area normed potential of the insolation is more suitable. External envelope's total surface area has a fundamental influence on the results in this method. Through the acquired results, the Y shape building was shown as the best in terms of insolation
