Overcoming women entrepreneurship barriers through digital opportunities: a successful Italian case study
In the realm of entrepreneurship, women’s contributions are gaining recognition, but gender disparities persist, often influenced by cultural norms and individual attributes. The digital age presents an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to overcome traditional constraints and leverage digital platforms. The rise of digitalization empowers women to manage work and family life efficiently, granting access to global markets and resources and enabling the creation of personal brands. This chapter introduces the case of “Sa Panada Srl,” a remarkable example that harnessed digital platforms and social media to achieve significant success. The case exemplifies the transformative potential of digitalization in empowering women entrepreneurs, uncovering the possibilities and challenges of the digital era for women in entrepreneurship, and offering insights into how they can transcend conventional boundaries to fulfill their entrepreneurial dreams
The paleopathological collection of Cagliari University: case studies and future proposal
The reaction of ethynylferrocene with mercuric acetate has been investigated in methanol and other solvents. The reaction involves a number of mercurated intermediates and eventually leads to acetylferrocene. For comparison the behavior of ethynylbenzene with the same mercurating system has also been investigated. The reaction mechanism is discussed in the light of the mercurated and nonmercurated reaction intermediates

Dermatoglyphics in pathology with emphasis of breast cancer and cervix carcinoma: some results.
The methoxymercuration of some styrene derivatives
Product analyses have been carried out and reaction rates and activation parameters determined for the methoxymercuration of some styrene derivatives and related compounds in methanol. The behaviour of α- and β-alkyl substituted styrenes generally parallels that of the similarly substituted vinylferrocenes. The anomalous reactivity of β,β-dimethylstyrenes is suggested to arise from the structural features of this compound. The reaction of the stilbenes was found to be stereospecific. The results are consistent with an unsymmetrically bridged structure for the cationic intermediate possibly involving varying degrees of bridging depending on substrat
The Silurian/Devonian sequence at Perda s'Altari (SW Sardinia, Italy).
In the Perda S’altari area, north of Fluminimaggiore, black shales of the Silurian Genna Muxerru Formation and limestones of the Devonian Mason Porcus Formation are exposed. The area is strongly tectonized, and poorly preserved fossils occur only in a few outcrops. Graptolites of Telychian and Rhuddanian age have been collected from the shales, whereas conodonts indicate the Lochkovian Icr. postwoschmidti and Ad. transitans zones. The problematic Eurytholia bohemica species is here documented from Devonian rocks for the first time outside the Czech Republic. A gradual transition between the Genna Muxerru Fm. and the Mason Porcus Fm. suggests an update to the lithostratigraphical scheme of the Silurian and Lower Devonian of SW Sardinia
Rotenone for Varroa destructor control: effectiveness in field trials
Two field trials were performed in an experimental apiary of Apis mellifera L. Langstroth hives in Miramar (Argentina) during spring (Sept.-Nov. 2001) and autumn/winter (Jun-Jul 2002), to evaluate the effectiveness of rotenone impregnated in polyvinyl chloride strips against Varroa destructor (Anderson & Trueman). Colonies were standardized for consistency of adult bee population, brood combs and food storage. In spring, a group of 10 colonies received 1.2 g of rotenone/hive (0.6 g/strip). Another group of 10 colonies received 0.8 g of rotenone/hive (0.4 g/strip). Five colonies were left untreated. In autumn/winter, a group of 10 colonies received 0.8 g of rotenone/hive, while 7 colonies were left untreated. During the assay, female adult mites collected at the bottom of each hive were counted three times per week. After twenty days, all strips were removed and fluvalinate and oxalic acid miticides were applied, to determine the mites remaining in each hive. Rotenone effectiveness was evaluated by the percent efficacy (E%) and the percent control (C%), according to Abbott’s formula. Efficacies of 79.2 and 82.7 per cent for the spring and autumn/winter treatments, respectively, were observed. Bee mortality ranged between 10 and 20 per cent. A single treatment of 0.8 g of rotenone/hive was enough to control Varroosis and represents a promising alternative for beekeepers

Influenza dell'alimentazione con sanse di olive sul contenuto in acidi grassi del latte di pecora
The influence of a diet containing olive cake on the level of fatty acids in sheep's milk. The authors have not observed significant variations in the study of the concentration of fatty avids in sheep's milk (determined gas-cromatographically)before and after the sheep had been fed on a diet containing olive cake
