Price-Optimized heat pump operation considering LV distribution grid constraints
Rising usage of heat pumps (HPs) for heating in buildings can overload lowvoltage (LV) distribution grids, threatening grid stability. The German Federal Grid Agency proposed solutions based on § 14a EnWG with reactive measures from the DSO to address overloading by reducing the power to a minimum of 4.2 kW. This study proposes a preventive control strategy for HPs integrated with Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS). The objective is to minimize household electricity costs while preventing overloading through time-dependent power reductions. Unlike most existing solutions, this approach proactively reduces HP power consumption based on predicted grid load. Simulations were conducted using a combination of tools (pandapower, microSCOPE, pandaprosumer) to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. The simulations compared scenarios with and without the control strategy, considering different HP sizes, thermal storage sizes, and sensitivity analysis. The results demonstrate the functionality of the preventive control strategy in reducing transformer overloading. However, the effectiveness is limited during long periods with particularly low temperatures. Also, it is influenced by factors such as HP size relative to building heat load and thermal storage capacity. Further research is needed to generalize the findings and include more factors

One size does not fit all: Sustainable innovation, climate policy, and startups' growth aspirations
peer reviewedPrior research suggests that the growth aspirations of startups are critical to their success. Meanwhile, as concerns about our natural environment and social injustices grow, sustainable innovations from startups seeking to address these issues become more urgent. Thus far, however, previous research has paid little attention to how the successful introduction of sustainable innovations affects the development of startups, in particular, in the form of their resulting growth aspirations. In this study, we empirically explore the relationship between sustainable innovation and startups' growth aspirations, and, drawing on institutional theory, how climate policy moderates this relationship. By investigating a sample of 1430 startups from 32 countries from the Flash Eurobarometer, we find that startups that have introduced a sustainable innovation in the past 12 months have higher growth aspirations. Additionally, our results show that stronger climate policy negatively moderates this relationship. Our findings offer a set of concrete implications for research and practice

Eine duale Karriere stellt eine Quelle vielfältiger Anforderungen und Belastungen dar. Im Rahmen dieser Studie soll geklärt werden, ob und in welchem Ausmaß jugendliche NachwuchsleistungssportlerInnen in Bayern ein chronisches Stressempfinden aufweisen. Multivariate Varianzanalysen ergaben eine überdurchschnittliche Stressbelastung der AthletenInnen. Zudem erwiesen sich das schulische Selbstkonzept, der totale Effekt des globalen Selbstwerts sowie die Fürsorglichkeit des Trainers als bedeutendste Ressourcen. Die Ergebnisse dieser Studie geben Anlass für eine regelmäßige Stressdiagnose und der Implementation entsprechender Präventionsmaßnahmen im bayerischen Nachwuchsleistungssport
Secondary metabolites from endophytic fungi isolated from the Chilean gymnosperm Prumnopitys andina (Lleuque)

The secondary metabolites were isolated and identified by spectroscopic methods. The fungus E-3 which could not be identified yielded 4-(2-hydroxyethyl)phenol, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde and the isochromanone mellein. The second fungus, identified as Penicillium janczewskii K.M. Zalessky yielded peniprequinolone and gliovictin, reported for the first time for this species. This is the first report on secondary metabolites produced by endophytic fungi from Chilean gymnosperms
Direct characterisation of phenolic antioxidants in infusions from four Mapuche medicinal plants by liquid chromatography with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) and electrospray ionisation tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS)

Teas made of Linum chamissonis Schiede, Quinchamalium chilensis Mol., Adesmia emarginata Clos. and Escallonia illinita K. Presl. were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detector (HPLC-DAD) and electrospray mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). This technique allowed for the first time the tentative identification of 16 phenolic compounds in E. illinita, 27 in Q. chilensis, 10 in L chamissonis and 19 in A. emarginata. The compounds were mainly phenolic acids, flavonoid glycosides, anthocyanins and tannins. The total phenolic and flavonoid content of the infusions was assessed as well as the free radical scavenging capacity measured by the bleaching of a solution of the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH(-)) radical. From the four species, Q. chilensis exhibited the strongest antioxidant activity with highest total phenolic and flavonoid content. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserve

In der Datenbank des Bundesverbands Deutscher Stiftungen existieren aktuell 620 Familienstiftungen und einige dieser Stiftungen halten Anteile an großen Unternehmen in Deutschland, wie bspw. Bertelsmann, Fielmann oder Würth. Familienstiftungen können in zahlreichen Fällen ein geeignetes Instrument für die Unternehmensnachfolge darstellen, sind für viele Unternehmer aufgrund ihrer vielfältigen Erscheinungsformen jedoch eine „Black Box“. In diesem Kapitel werden die wichtigsten Eigenschaften von Familienstiftungen erläutert, die als Grundlage für das Verständnis dieses Buches dienen sollen. Nach einer kurzen definitorischen Abgrenzung von Familienstiftungen bietet das Kapitel einen ersten Einblick in die Errichtung einer Familienstiftung.
