International audienceLe chapitre V des Fioretti de saint François évoque la fondation des Frères Mineurs à Bologne. Des éléments historiques y sont repérables, des éléments polémiques aussi, puisque la "question des études" animait fortement les débats entre Spirituels et Communauté. Les Fioretti traitent-ils pour autant cette question de façon polémique? Une approche à la fois historique et comparative permet de déceler la dimension mythique de ce chapitre sous forme de mise en scène littéraire et hagiographique. Les Fioretti ne sont ni apocalyptiques comme les textes d'Angelo Clareno, ni polémiques comme un Iacopone da Todi qui s’écriera « Mal vedemo Parisi, che àne destrutt’Asisi », ni en adéquation avec les biographies officielles en provenance de la Communauté, mais ils rappellent, par un autre genre littéraire encore, leur interprétation du dessein premier de François

ERP Modulation during Observation of Abstract Paintings by Franz Kline
The aim of this study was to test the involvement of sensorimotor cortical circuits during the beholding of the static consequences of hand gestures devoid of any meaning.In order to verify this hypothesis we performed an EEG experiment presenting to participants images of abstract works of art with marked traces of brushstrokes. The EEG data were analyzed by using Event Related Potentials (ERPs). We aimed to demonstrate a direct involvement of sensorimotor cortical circuits during the beholding of these selected works of abstract art. The stimuli consisted of three different abstract black and white paintings by Franz Kline. Results verified our experimental hypothesis showing the activation of premotor and motor cortical areas during stimuli observation. In addition, abstract works of art observation elicited the activation of reward-related orbitofrontal areas, and cognitive categorization-related prefrontal areas. The cortical sensorimotor activation is a fundamental neurophysiological demonstration of the direct involvement of the cortical motor system in perception of static meaningless images belonging to abstract art. These results support the role of embodied simulation of artist's gestures in the perception of works of art. © 2013 Sbriscia-Fioretti et al

Abstract
A very low cost prototype has been developed for the spatial and temporal analysis of human movement using an integrated system of last generation smartphones and a high-definition webcam, controlled by a laptop. The system can be used to analyse mainly planar motions in non-structured environments. In this paper, the accelerometer signal captured by the 3D sensor embedded in one smartphone, and the position of coloured markers extracted from the analysis of the webcam frames, are used for the computation of spatial-temporal parameters of gait. The system has been tested on a treadmill at different gait speeds. Accuracy of results is compared with that obtainable by a gold-standard stereometric instrumentation. The system is characterised by a very low cost and a very high level of automation. It has been thought to be used by non-expert users in ambulatory settings
