Analysis of neologisms in the Harry Potter book series
Z njimi je poimenovala bitja, like, predmete, uroke in kraje. Neologisms are newly coined words, which have not yet been fully accepted into language. Many of them are found in the Harry Potter book series, since the author, J. K. Rowling, imagined a whole wizarding world and that required new words. Those were used to name creatures, characters, objects, spells and places. Her neologisms are especially creative, express characteristics, secrets, allude to appearances or are comical. Such names are called aptonyms and it is vital that we successfully transfer them into the target language, otherwise readers are denied an authentic experience. Neologisms and aptonyms, which are found in the Harry Potter book series and in Fantastic Beasts: Original Screenplay, are presented in this thesis. The purpose of this thesis is to analyse neologisms and see if they are successfully transferred into the target language. Theoretical part discusses neologisms, word formation processes, aptonyms, translation and translation of children\u27s literature. Empirical part analyses etymology and word formation processes of original terms and compares them with their translations. The emphasis is on translation procedures used by translator Jakob J. Kenda, whether he successfully transfered the neologisms into Slovene, retained their meaning, connotation, effect, wordplays and whether he retained aptonyms. Most frequently used word formation process is combining, and most words are compounds. While translating neologisms, the translator frequently used derivation and creation of new neologisms, thus creating inventive and amusing translations. Most aptonyms were retained, mostly by using occasional equivalents, while wordplays were recreated as well

Algorithmic complexity of solution concepts in selected classes of non-cooperative games
Title: Algorithmic complexity of solution concepts in selected classes of non-cooperative games Author: Adam Wichera Department: Department of Logic Supervisor: RNDr. Ondřej Majer, CSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: majer@ u.cas.cz Abstract In the presented work we study natural algorthmic problems rising from the concept of Nash Equilibrium. The problem of it's existence is trivial, because it follows from Nash The- orem of completeness of Nash Equilibria. Even related search problem doesn't seem to belong to NP-complete class, the reason being the very fact, that existence of Nash Equilibria is certain. Interesting observation is that every natural extension of this problem seems to be NP-complete. Many of such problems have been proven to be NP-complete through reduction of SAT problem, Klike problem or problem of searching subcover of certain size. The question, wheather the pro- blem of existence of assymmetric Nash equilibria of symmeric game ts with the others, in being NP-complete, has been an open problem. Here we show how to alternate the proof from [? ] and apply the construction to problem of existence of assymetric equilibria and therefore prove its NP-completness. WHEN FINGER PUPPETS COME TO LIFE
The diploma paper with the title When finger puppets come to life describes the project educational work in a kindergarten division with children aging between 5 to 6 years.
The theoretical part of the project diploma paper describes the finger fames, finger theatre, and finger puppets. This part also looks at finger puppets as motivation for declamation learning, at songs and story presentations, at the influence of puppets on children’s development and progress, and at the making of individual puppets and dramatization with the help of finger puppets.
The purpose of the practical part was to introduce finger games and finger puppets to children. The goal was to set up a puppet corner, where the children could – either through spontaneous play or guided activities – make their own finger puppets, and also their own dramatization with self-made and/or premade finger puppets.
The project work was carried out in the kindergarten division Jožice Flander, unit Vančka Šarha, in the group named Deer with children aging between 5 to 6 years. The project included stories from Slovene author Fran Levstik Kdo je Vidku napravil srajčico, and the folk tales Mojca Pokrajculja and Volk in trije kozlički
Opportunities and challenges of smart cities: the case of Slovenia
Pregled stanja je nato opravljen z analizo sekundarnih virov, kvantitativno analizo javno dostopnih podatkov in kvalitativno analizo s problemskima ekspertnima intervjujema z direktorjem Inštituta Državljan D in avtorjem projektov Etičen IT in Panoptikon Domnom Savičem ter generalno direktorico Statističnega urada Republike Slovenije magistrico Apolonijo Oblak Flander. Following a wave of technological optimism between 2015 and 2019, the implementation of smart city projects in Slovenia stalled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thesis is based on a geographically dispersed and size-balanced sample of municipalities and cities and examines the current state of smart city projects in Slovenia. It analyzes local, national, and European strategic documents, assesses data collection from both a managerial and privacy perspective, and discusses opportunities and challenges for citizens, such as individual privacy, cybersecurity, and the unauthorised trade of personal data. The introduction narrows the definition of a smart city to social, rather than solely technological, innovation. The status review is then conducted through an analysis of secondary sources, a quantitative analysis of publicly available data, and a qualitative analysis using problem-focused expert interviews with the director of the Državljan D Institute and the author of the Ethical IT and Panopticon projects, Domen Savič, as well as the director-general of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, mag. Apolonija Oblak Flander. When discussing data handling, the concept of the surveillance theatre, a false sense of security due to surveillance technologies, is highlighted, and potential development directions with artificial intelligence are illuminated. In Slovenia, the implementation of smart city projects is primarily taking place in the areas of urban mobility, traffic, environment, and energy due to the availability of European funds. However, in projects that are limited in form and purpose by the market supply of technologies, there is a perceived lack of financial, personnel, and energy resources for the continued operation and maintenance of such infrastructure

This bachelor's thesis contains a comparative analysis of algorithms used in the field of mobile autonomous robotics for dynamical mapping and proposal of possible approaches to improve their performance. It describes the selection of an appropriate dataset and the design of scenarios with the goal of identifying areas where the investigated algorithms perform unsatisfactory results, the execution of corresponding experiments and the analysis of their behaviour in these areas. Furthermore, it presents the design of tried procedures for targeting these deficiencies, and these are experimentally verified in the context of prior experiments
Car Detection Methods from 2D LIDAR Data Collected with a Mobile Robot
This thesis focuses on the research of various approaches to real-world car detection by a parking robot. For this purpose, three machine learning methods based on the point cloud segmentation (the PointNet), image segmentation (the U-Net), and feature vector classification (the SVM) were implemented, and one geometrical-based method for wheel localization. Methods comparison is held on an annotated dataset of 2D measurements from three LIDAR sensors installed on a mobile parking robot. The use of the dataset collected during operating in real-world scenarios ensures the authoritative evaluation of methods with respect to robustness. Experiments indicated a great potential of the U-Net network and the SVM for the car detection task. The proposed system for real-time evaluation consists of subscription to LIDAR sensors, point-wise classification with machine learning methods, and wheel localization of detected cars
