The practical and theoretical unfolding of the Pibid subprojects development in the initial training of biological science teachers in Paraná state
No full textAcompanha: Sistema de avaliação qualitativo para subsidiar a identificação das bases conceituais da formação e profissionalização docenteThe thesis presented addresses the theme of the initial training of Biological Science teachers, more specifically how the practical and theoretical unfolding of the subprojects development that integrate the Institutional Program of Scholarship for Beginners Teachers - Pibid in Paraná state - took place. This program aims to reach the perspective of the teacher’s work to promote the interaction of knowledge between the university context and the school context, being limited by structural principles that bring new possibilities which can break up with the hegemonic model of the initial training. The main objective was to analyze the conceptual foundations enclosed in the Pibid subprojects and the impacts of the practices developed for the teacher’s initial training. In order to do that, we used a qualitative research in which the analysis of the content was adopted as an interpretative possibility of eight participating subprojects of the program at higher public teaching institutions. Besides that, the reports of the referred subprojects were also used as instrument of data collection, just like a semi-structured interview. As main results, we point out: a) the proposed actions in the subprojects promoted the development of typical extension, research and teaching activities; b) in relation to the conceptual foundations enclosed in the subprojects, these were structured from some education based more on the world reality of professional work with a relative frequency of 75%. These conceptual foundations also promoted the development of knowledge and professional teaching strategies from some knowledge socially situated and locally built with a relative frequency of 78%. The knowledge and the professional teaching strategies mentioned were developed from an indissociability relationship between the theoretical and practical knowledge with a relative frequency of 46%. This one, however, was presented from a dichotomous relationship in another 46% of the cases. Besides the results presented, the proposed actions in the analyzed subprojects privileged the building of curricular, disciplinary, and professional knowledge and of a specific knowledge too, which took place from the proposed actions that was the know-how of practicing the academic research. In this context, we can also mention the results of our research the following items: c) the developed educational practices confirmed the development of the different types of teaching knowledge initially described in the actions, adding them to the development of teaching experiential knowledge; d) the conceptual foundations enclosed in the subprojects, in most of cases, were connected to the principles of the advisers, originally proposed for the national program Pibid/DEB/CAPES; e) the proposed product allowed to systematize and determine the main aspects that guide a determined model of initial education and opens possibilities for the analysis of other subprojects. We conclude the research problem was answered throughout the results obtained that, in turn, were oriented based on the objectives initially proposed, being possible to infer that the conceptual foundations and the educational practices developed are, in large part, in accordance with the Pibid principles. These, for their part - when considering the theoretical perspectives that reflect the educational vision in a teaching professionalization way - are directed to an emerging model, presenting many examples of how this perspective can be incorporated by the degree courses.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES)A tese apresentada aborda a temática da formação inicial de professores de Ciências Biológicas, mais especificamente como se deram os desdobramentos teóricos e práticos do desenvolvimento de subprojetos que integram o Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência - Pibid no Estado do Paraná. Esse programa visa a uma perspectiva de trabalho docente que promova a articulação de saberes contidos no contexto universitário e no contexto escolar, sendo balizado por princípios estruturadores que abrem possibilidades para romper-se com um modelo hegemônico de formação inicial. O objetivo principal foi analisar as bases conceituais contidas nos subprojetos Pibid e os impactos das práticas desenvolvidas para a formação inicial de professores. Para tanto, lançou-se mão de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, em que a análise de conteúdo foi adotada como possibilidade interpretativa de oito subprojetos participantes do programa em instituições públicas de ensino superior. Além disso, os relatórios dos referidos subprojetos também foram utilizados como instrumento de coleta de dados, bem como uma entrevista semiestruturada. Como principais resultados, aponta-se: a) que as ações propostas nos subprojetos promoveram o desenvolvimento de atividades típicas de ensino, de pesquisa e de extensão; b) que, em relação às bases conceituais contidas nos subprojetos, essas se estruturaram a partir de uma formação mais assentada na realidade do mundo do trabalho profissional, com uma frequência relativa de 75%. Essas bases conceituais promoveram, também, o desenvolvimento de conhecimentos e estratégias profissionais docentes, a partir de um conhecimento socialmente situado e localmente construído, com frequência relativa de 78%. Esses conhecimentos e estratégias profissionais docentes mencionados se desenvolveram a partir de uma relação de indissociabilidade entre o saber teórico e o saber prático, com uma frequência relativa de 46%. Essa se apresentou, entretanto, a partir de uma relação dicotômica em outros 46% dos casos. Além desses resultados acima destacados, as ações propostas nos subprojetos analisados privilegiaram a construção de saberes profissionais, disciplinares, curriculares e, também, um saber específico, que se deu a partir das ações propostas, que foi o saber praticar a pesquisa acadêmica. Nesse contexto, podemos, pois, mencionar, ainda, como resultados de nossa pesquisa os seguintes itens: c) as práticas pedagógicas confirmam o desenvolvimento dos diferentes tipos de saberes docentes inicialmente descritos, adicionando-se o desenvolvimento de saberes experienciais docentes; d) as bases conceituais contidas nos subprojetos, na maior parte dos casos, coadunaram com os princípios orientadores do programa Pibid/DEB/CAPES nacional; e) o produto proposto permitiu sistematizar e determinar os principais aspectos que orientam um determinado modelo de formação inicial e abre possibilidades para análise de outros subprojetos. Conclui-se que o problema de pesquisa foi respondido por meio dos resultados obtidos que, por sua vez, orientaram-se com base nos objetivos inicialmente propostos, sendo possível inferir que as bases conceituais e as práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas estão, em grande parte, em coerência com os princípios do Pibid. Esses, por sua vez - ao tomarem perspectivas teóricas que transparecem à visão da formação, no sentido de sua profissionalização docente - direcionam para um modelo emergente, mostrando muitos exemplos de como essa perspectiva pode ser incorporada pelos cursos
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
