This research deals with the three epigraphic collections written by the carmelite friar Michele Fabrizio Ferrarini during the second half of the XV century. The drawings of these three texts are exemplified of Emilian antiquarian humanism and they are analyzes with reference to the artistic context and to other major artists of Northern Italy of the same period

Performance evaluation of a new reading technique of LR115 cellulose nitrate track detectors

    No full text
LR115 cellulose nitrate SSNTD are routinely used for Radon detection. A reading technique with high resolution optical microscope coupled with a scanning system has been recently proposed. In this technique, the efficiency correction that was formerly performed on the residual thickness of the detector is performed on the track area distribution. So all the information that is needed for the measurement is obtained directly during the scanning. This leads to a much simpler and faster reading procedure, when compared to the classical technique that required both spark counting and micrometer residual thickness measure. A complete characterization and performance evaluation of the detector response is discussed, including a measuring range evaluation, a combined uncertainty theoretical calculation and a blind test validation at HPA

The EU’s Proposed Reform of Directors’ Duties and the Missing Link to Soft Law

    No full text
In this paper, we investigate whether reform of EU company law is needed to make corporate governance more sustainable. We also consider some issues to which the EU proposals on company law and sustainability paid scant attention, such as the role of corporate governance codes and other types of soft law, mainly of international origin, in promoting sustainable governance. In addition, we underline that in recent years the EU has adopted several measures which offer better prospects for sustainable governance than the reform of directors’ duties the EU is currently debating. We conclude that the failure to take corporate governance codes and the existing regulatory framework into account could seriously impair pending reforms of directors’ duties and their link to sustainability
