Varicella notification in immigrants: a brief report from Ferrara, Italy
Full text linkBackground and Aim of the work - We conducted a survey of varicella cases' notifications in the immigrant population in the province of Ferrara, Italy.

Materials and Methods – We collected notifications of infectious disease between 2002 and 2006. 

Results and discussion - At the end of 2006, the 4.5% (14252 subjects) of total population of the province of Ferrara and its province was represented of immigrants from foreign countries. In this context, between 2002 and 2006, a total of 1969 cases of varicella, including 3.1% related to migrants, were reported. Among immigrants, there were 36 cases in males, and 26 in females. The cases were notified in the 64.5% by the hospital emergency service, in the 16.1% by the paediatrician and in 19.4% by the general practitioner. The incidence appears similar in both populations in childhood: this fact could means an integration in the local epidemiology for varicella of the immigrant school-children.

No full textopenNel primo capitolo ho tracciato un excursus sulle origini di Ferrara, esaminando come la città sia nata e si sia formata nel corso del tempo. Ho poi evidenziato il ruolo cruciale della famiglia d'Este nello sviluppo della città, concentrandomi in particolare su Borso I d'Este e il suo progetto di espansione urbana, noto come "prima addizione", che vide l'allargamento delle mura cittadine. Infine, ho analizzato la guerra di Ferrara, un evento che ha segnato la storia della città.
Nel secondo capitolo, mi sono soffermata sui viaggi di Ercole I d'Este attraverso l’Italia, dai territori del nord fino a Roma, per poi tornare a Ferrara. Ho approfondito l'importanza dell'Addizione Erculea, che ha portato a una significativa espansione della città, e in particolare il progetto del Quadrivio degli Angeli, che rappresenta uno dei punti culminanti della pianificazione urbanistica rinascimentale ferrarese. Ho inoltre esplorato come il "grand tour" di Ercole I abbia influenzato l'architettura dei palazzi di Ferrara, ispirando lo stile e la grandiosità di molte delle dimore signorili.
Nel terzo e ultimo capitolo della tesi, ho creato un percorso itinerante a piedi che ripercorre le tappe delle città italiane visitate da Ercole I d'Este nel primo Cinquecento. Questo viaggio rappresenta un modo per collegare i luoghi storici attraversati dal duca con le tracce del suo impatto culturale e architettonico, permettendo di esplorare i legami tra Ferrara e il resto d’Italia

In the third section of the book, scientific discourse focuses on the Material Design Culture and changing approach in term of the evolution of research methods. In the chapter "Fundamental of Material Design Culture", the author traces the fundamentals of Material Design based on the Italian design history and its relationship with global design discourse
