Análisis del clima organizacional de los centros de educación secundaria: incidencia de las formas organizativas y las condiciones de trabajo
Get PDFEl clima organizacional remite a las percepciones que tienen los miembros de unaorganización acerca de los componentes estructurales, las relaciones interpersonales, los estilos de gestión y el contextoen el que se inserta. En Uruguay, como en otros países, el climaorganizacionalde los centros educativos incideen los desempeños de los estudiantes, por lo que indagar en este fenómeno puede contribuir a la mejora escolar. Desde un diseño mixto, este estudio analizó cómo las distintas formas organizativasy las condiciones laborales de los centros de educación media inciden en la percepción de docentes y directores sobre el clima. Para responder a esta pregunta se trabajó con datos de la Encuesta de Salud Ocupacional del Instituto Nacional de Evaluación Educativa a través de modelos multinivel y se relevó la perspectiva de equipos directivos y docentes de cinco liceos públicos. Como resultado de la triangulación de información, se encontraron ciertas regularidades entre las dos fuentes utilizadas y otras que se complementan. De la fase cuantitativa se destaca que los docentes del sector público presentan más riesgos psicosociales y menores insumos para afrontarlos que los del sector privado. El liderazgo se constituye como el factor con mayor incidencia en el climaorganizacional, seguido de las confianzas horizontal y vertical, la autonomía y la coordinación, la sobrecarga cognitiva, la disonancia emocional y los problemas de rol. La relación entre directores y docentes también presenta un efecto positivo enel climaorganizacional. De la fase cualitativa se destaca que la percepción sobre climas positivos se encuentra asociada a trabajaren centros pequeñosy con estudiantes de su zona, contar con planteles docentes estables y tener buenas condiciones respecto con los recursos materiales y edilicios. También se confirma que la permanencia de los equipos directivos resulta un factor fundamental para el establecimiento de procedimientos duraderos y claros, así como también para la construcción de una visión común sobre el centro educativo.Organizational climate refers to the perceptions that members of the organization have about structural components, interpersonal relationships, management styles, and the overall contextin which it operates. In Uruguay, as in other countries, the organizational of schools has an impact on student performance, so investigating this phenomenon can contribute to school improvement. Using a mixed design, this study analyzed how different organizational forms and working conditions in middle schoolinfluence the perception of teachers and principals regarding the organizationalclimate. To answer this question, data from an occupational health survey of the National Institute of Educational Evaluation,were used through multilevel models, collectingthe perspectives of principalsand teachers from five public high schools. As a result of triangulating information, certain regularities were found between the two sources used and others that complement each other. From the quantitative phase, it stands out that teachers in the public sector face more psychosocial risks and havefewer resources to cope with them than those in the private sector. Leadership is identified as the factor with the greatest impact on the organizational climate, followed by horizontal and vertical trust, autonomy and coordination, cognitive overload, emotional dissonance, and role problems. The relationship between principals and teachers also has a positive effect on the organizational climate. From the qualitative phase, it is highlighted that the perception of positive climates is associated with small centers,work with students from their area, with stable teaching staff, and good conditions regarding material resourcesand infrastructure. It is also confirmed that the continuity of principalsis a fundamental factor for the establishment of lasting and clear procedures, as well as the construction of a common vision of the school
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
