In contemporary art, issues related to authorship have changed, they do not refer solely to individualistic creations, but are inserted in a broad and collective cultural context of interaction with the participation of other authors. Considering the work of the visual artist Rivane Neuenschwander and considering the authorship relations existing in his work, it is intended to understand, effectively, how the participation and the reception of the other, coauthor or co-creator, occurs in what refers to the author-work-spectator triad in postmodernity. It seeks to assimilate the possible connections and how the search for the other in the work of the artist occurs, being that it appropriates daily materialities and revisits various artistic languages. His work is inserted in a new network of exchanges, relations and significations, in the counterpoint of the individual with the collective. For this, the thinkers Foucault and Barthes will be used to understand authorship in postmodernity. Concerning the reception theory, Hans Robert Jauss and Wolfgang Iser, as well as the relational aesthetic of Nicolas Borriaud. The concepts of rhizome, event and difference of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari will also be used to better understand the artistic projects of Rivane. This dissertation is expected to give rise to new looks and new knowledge regarding participation, reception, interactivity, collectivity and authorship in contemporary art

Probabilistic and Statistical Methods in Cryptology
Cryptology nowadays is one of the most important areas of applied mathematics, building on deep results and methods from various areas of mathematics. This text is devoted to the study of stochastic aspects of cryptology.
Besides classical topics from cryptology, the author presents chapters on probabilistic prime number tests, factorization with quantum computers, random-number generators, pseudo-random-number generators, information theory, and the birthday paradox and meet-in-the-middle attack.
In the light of the vast literature on stochastic results relevant for cryptology, this book is intended as an invitation and introduction for students, researchers, and practitioners to probabilistic and statistical issues in cryptology
A brief report on a number of recently discovered sets of notes on Riemann's lectures and on the transmission of the Riemann Nachlass
AbstractThe collection of Riemann's mathematical papers preserved in Göttingen University Library since 1895 includes none of Riemann's scientific correspondence nor any of his more personal papers. The present report gives an account of the documents (correspondence, lecture notes, etc.) discovered outside Göttingen in the course of a larger research project on Riemann, and briefly describes the history of the Riemann Nachlass. At the same time, readers are kindly requested to inform the author of the whereabouts of any further material relating to Riemann, so that it can be included in the collection of texts and sources currently in preparation
Abstract : In the last decades, a reaction to normativism led to the development of trends that seek to think about the Law in its dynamic relationship with other cultural manifestations, such as  Law and Literature and  Law and Film studies. In Brazil, there are numerous publications, research groups, disciplines, among other academic activities, that meditate upon legal issues reflected in films, and it can be said that we are facing a scholarship in formation. However, this area is still incipient when compared with other similar, as  Law and Film studies developed in the United States, the United Kingdom and Spain, or even when compared to the  Law and Literature studies conducted in our country. Therefore, the objective of this work is to identify the points which need to be improved for the maturation of the  Law and Film scholarship in Brazil, and to seek, in the other fields cited, guidelines about the prospects that can lead to the strengthen of this area. To this end, it was raised, at first, the main national experiences aimed at the Law-Film exchange as a way to identify the outlines that this area has assumed in our country. Then, American and British Law and Film studies and Spanish Derecho y Cine studies were visited, as well as the  Law and Literature movement, so that one could draw from them a direction to the ways that arise before the  Law and Film studies. Finally, comparing the weaknesses found in the  Law and Film studies held in Brazil with the guidelines drawn from other fields visited, were exposed some prospects for the development and maturation of the field in our country. In conclusion, it can be said that there are a lot of supports to strengthen the  Law and Film scholarship in Brazil, and the prospects revealed in this study are important to the establishment of this area in Brazilian academia

The borrowing registers of university libraries represent ‒ especially for the history of science ‒ a new source genre and thus a new approach. They enable to reconstruct the decisive influences and stimuli on scientists working at the places in question. In this article, this is exemplified by the Göttingen mathematician Bernhard Riemann (1826–1866), who, apart from a few stays abroad, lived and worked almost exclusively in Göttingen. In the first section, the Göttingen University Library borrowing registers are introduced and the most important previous book-historical publications related to them are presented. In the second section, I first describe how and why I came to examine these registers with reference to Riemann, and present in the following some new results regarding the genesis of Riemann’s groundbreaking philosophical as well as mathematical ideas. I conclude with an unaltered photomechanical reproduction of Riemann’s book and journal borrowings from the Göttingen University Library, as I extracted and compiled them quite some time ago without the use of digital tools. The definitive edition of this article will be published in an appropriate journal for the history of science after having been revised and then translated into English in post-Covid times, with further consultation of the originals in Göttingen. For the convenience of English-speaking readers, a work-in-progress English version of this preprint can be obtained from the author

A guide to oral history and the law /
A Guide to Oral History and the Law is the definitive resource for all oral history practitioners. In clear, accessible language it thoroughly explains all of the major legal issues including legal release agreements, the protection of restricted interviews, the privacy torts (including defamation), copyright, the impact of the Internet, and the role of Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). The author accomplishes this by examining the most relevant court cases and citing examples of policies and procedures that oral history programs have used to avoid legal difficulties. Neuenschwander's central focus throughout the book is on prevention rather than litigation. He underscores this approach by strongly emphasizing how close adherence to the Oral History Association's Principles and Best Practices provides the best foundation for developing sound legal policies. The book also provides more than a dozen sample legal release agreements that are applicable to a wide variety of situations. This volume is an essential one for all oral historians regardless of their interviewing focus
Femtosecond laser-induced periodic surface structures on diamond-like nanocomposite films
We study the formation of laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) on diamond-like nanocomposite (DLN) a-C:H:Si:O films and titanium-doped DLN films during femtosecond (fs) laser ablation processing with linearly-polarized beams of IR and visible fs-lasers (wavelengths 1030 nm and 515 nm, pulse duration 320 fs, pulse repetition rates 100 kHz-2 MHz, scanning beam velocity 0.04–0.4 m/s). The studies are focused on (i) comparison of high spatial frequency LIPSS (HSFL) and low spatial frequency LIPSS (LSFL) formed on DLN and Ti-DLN films by IR fs-laser processing, (ii) effects of the pulse repetition rate on the parameters of LIPSS formed on the DLN and Ti-DLN films, (iii) Raman spectroscopy analysis of the LIPSS-structured films with application for ultrathin surface graphitization, and (iv) relationship between the fs-laser-induced surface graphitization and LIPSS formation on the films. A variety of the HSFL and LSFL have been produced on the surface of DLN and Ti-DLN films, with all the LIPSS being oriented perpendicular to the beam polarization direction. The HSFL periods are varied from ~80 to 240 nm and the LSFL periods are varied from 355 to 840 nm, depending on the fs-laser irradiation conditions (wavelength, fluence, pulse repetition rate) and films properties. Various plasmonic effects such as the superposition of the HSFL and LSFL and emergence of very unusual sinusoid-like structures on the DLN and Ti-DLN films are presented and discussed
