No full textLuis Felipe Ramón y Rivera is the author of the most important collection about traditional culture of Táchira (Venezuela). Using an advanced methodology by then, he tries to do several analyses and categorizations of the material collected. A constant element within the oral tradition collected in Folklore tachirense is the “humor” category. The author shows us a very particular way of humor that the inhabitants of Táchira have with some characteristics that make it really original.Luis Felipe Ramón y Rivera (1913 – 1993) es el autor de la recopilación más importante sobre la cultura popular tachirense. Utilizando una metodología de avanzada para entonces, intenta realizar diversos análisis y categorizaciones del material recopilado. Un elemento constante dentro de la tradición oral recogida en Folklore tachirense lo constituye la categoría “humor”. El autor nos muestra una forma muy particular de humor que tienen los tachirenses y que lo hacen realmente original. No full textEste trabajo de grado ha consistido en la compilación de los artículos y monografías relacionados con la música y etnomúsicadel investigador musicólogo y folklorólogo Luis Felipe Ramón y Rivera (23/08/1913-21/10/1993), que se hallan dispersos tanto en revistas especializadas como en revistas de temática cultural o diversa. Esta selección se realizó a partir del listado general de su obra hemerográfica, publicado en el Anuario FUNDEF de 1993; como valor agregado se transcribieron e incorporaron veintidós (22) publicaciones de dicho autor en lo concerniente al folklore, así como también doce (12) materiales en presentación facsimilar.
Este estudio aporta adicionalmente, un listado de noventa y siete (97) títulos de la obra hemerográfica del autor, con las respectivas referencias para su ubicación en los centros de documentación en donde fueron hallados. Sin embargo, por razones metodológicas, para esta investigación se transcribieron setenta y ocho (78) de estos materiales.
Los resultados se ofrecen en un formato de salida digital: una base de datos que contiene la obra hemerográfica mencionada, presentada de una manera fácil de operar para el usuario, permitiéndole buscar por la temática de su interés, según la(s) palabra(s) que introduzca en la barra de búsqueda. Classification of agricultural systems based on pesticide use intensity and safety
No full textAn analysis of socio-economic driving forces in crop protection is proposed to improve the implementation of sustainable strategies. The analysis includes: (1) a classification of agricultural systems based on pesticide use intensity and safety, (2) an evaluation of the profitability of farming systems and identification of socio-economic factors that influence pesticide use and (3) formulation of policy recommendations. We find that for cereals and for fruit trees alike, crop yields are much higher for agricultural systems with high doses of pesticides. The safety of applied pesticides does not affect crop protection costs significantly. For cropping systems characterised by low-intensity in pesticide use, the application of safer products has a positive effect on reduction of crop protection costs.pesticide use, driving forces in crop protection, economic analysis of agricultural systems, Crop Production/Industries,

<p>This chapter thoroughly examines soil threats and trends in Southern Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, emphasizing their implications for sustainable land management. Through a comprehensive analysis of available data and literature, the study identifies erosion patterns, soil carbon changes, soil biodiversity indicators, nutrient mismanagement, salinization, sodification, and soil moisture decline as prominent concerns. Erosion is a significant issue, exacerbated by bare soil conditions, coastal erosion due to rising sea levels, and wind erosion influenced by land use and vegetation cover. Soil carbon changes exhibit both sequestration and loss patterns, particularly impacting agricultural soils, while soil biodiversity's role in nutrient cycling underscores the need for enhanced preservation efforts. Nutrient mismanagement, exemplified by fertilizer consumption trends and efficiency, underscores the importance of informed decision-making in optimizing soil fertility. In response to human activities, soil salinization and sodification significantly threaten agricultural sustainability, particularly across coastal areas. Soil moisture decline, linked to land use intensification and extreme climate events, further exacerbates soil degradation risks. The chapter concludes by advocating for comprehensive soil monitoring and management strategies to address these threats, which are crucial for safeguarding soil health, preserving ecosystem services, and ensuring long-term food security in the region.</p>
