L'eredità platonica e il superamento dell'aporia dei dialoghi (Napoli 2018) e Isagogical Crossroads from the Early Imperial Age to the End of Antiquity (Leiden-Boston 2022)./[English]: Anna Motta is currently Senior Assistant Professor in History of Ancient Philosophy at the University of Naples Federico II and Secretary of the Neapolitan “G. Vico” branch of the Italian Philosophical Society (SFI). Principal Investigator of prestigious European research projects, she works mainly on Plato, the Platonic tradition and isagogical issues. Platone e la questione della virtù
No full textL’etica antica e, con essa, l’etica di Platone rappresentano un ambito importante
e di notevole interesse dell’indagine filosofica attuale. Questo volume
miscellaneo, costituito da otto capitoli preceduti da un’utile introduzione,
offre analisi e discussioni critiche intorno al tema della virtù e ad
alcune sue possibili declinazioni. Oltre a presentare l’idea generale del libro
e a esplicitare riflessioni talvolta lasciate implicite nei singoli contributi,
l’introduzione offre un efficace quadro delle infinite implicazioni della
questione della virtù in Platone, dando spazio all’ipotesi che l’etica platonica
sia pensabile all’interno di un preciso contesto metafisico. Otto interessanti
e inediti saggi cercano poi di spiegare, con argomentazioni letterarie
e approcci storico-teorici diversi, che cos’è la virtù, chi è l’uomo virtuoso,
in che modo si può parlare di unità della virtù, e come avviene l’identificazione
di virtù e conoscenza anche nelle discussioni in merito alla teoria
del Maestro che si svolgono nell’Academia Antica. Scritti da Platonisti
ben noti in campo internazionale e da più giovani studiosi di filosofia antica,
i saggi qui raccolti mirano a fornire a studenti e specialisti del settore
una panoramica della complessità della questione della virtù in Platone e
delle diverse sfaccettature che essa assume nei dialoghi e a seconda delle
