Sull’aborto. A partire da Laura Conti
The article critically reconstructs the debate and the current open issues on the topic of abortion, starting from the discussion of Laura Conti’s book, recently republished, Il tormento e lo scudo. In particular, the authors focus – through Conti – on the issues related to the Italian law 194/78, discussing its (bio)ethical and theoretical implications from a historical and legal perspective, in light of the most recent global threats of restriction or internal erosion of the right to abortion

Edaphic fauna play a key role in many soil functions such as organic matter decomposition, humus
formation and nutrient elements cycling; moreover, they affect the porosity, aeration, infiltration and
distribution of organic matter in soil horizons, modifying soil structure and improving soil fertility. In
this study, six beech forests located in three areas of the centre of the Italian Apennine were
studied to evaluate the microarthropod and ciliate communities, in order to evaluate their potential
as a soil biodiversity reservoir. Microarthropod abundances, Acari/Collembola ratio, biodiversity
indices and QBS-ar index were calculated. Microarthropod communities were found to be rich and
well diversified in all of the six beech forests, characterized by typical groups generally present in
woods with good natural conditions. The number of taxa ranged between 10 and 14 in the six
forests and in all sites important groups such as Symphyla, Chilopoda, Pauropoda and Protura
were present. Pseudoscorpiones were found in four forests while Isopoda were present only in two
forests. Ciliate communities were investigated by means of qualitative and quantitative methods.
Abundance, dominance, species diversity and C/P quotient (ratio of r-selected colpodean and kselected
polyhymenophorean ciliates) were calculated. A total of 27 ciliate species belonging to 10
order, 14 families and 17 genera were recorded from three sites. Colpoda, Gonostomum and
Spathidium were the dominant genus. Species richness ranged from 13 to 16 for all the sites.
Biological quality and edaphic community composition highlighted the importance of beech forests
in the protection policy of soil biodiversity
The radical right in Europe, between slogans and voting behavior. IHS Political Science Series No. 123, July 2011
The paper analyzes the radical right‘s attitudes toward the EU focusing in particular on the level of congruence between the programmatic statements of the central office and the voting behavior of their MEPs. It shows that although radical right parties represent a source of opposition to the EU, within the EP they express their dissent making use of the rules of the game, voting with the opposition more than the other forces do, but voting almost as much with the majority. The party public office in the EP is inserted in the legislative process and even more collusive with the other parties of both sides of the political spectrum than the Eurosceptical rhetoric and statements of central office makes the public believe
As the descendant of modern cataloging systems, the collection inventory, a rarer example of a practical list as the account book have increasingly attracted the attention of art historians as a valuable source of information on the artist and his work. Product of the double-entry accounting system and commercial tool of a painter and his workshop, the account book can collect and catalog important information on works of art and their patrons, their value, the processing times, and the material used, offering, sometime, enjoyable anecdotes related to the artist’s life and his social and professional relationships. Aim of this contribution is to briefly track the account book critical history, from a practical list to a source for art historians, through some well-known case studies, with particular attention to the publishing history of some of them
Microarthropods biodiversity in natural, seminatural and cultivated soils-QBS-ar approach
In the last century, the exploitation of soil by humans has increased considerably. The need to evaluate several aspects of land degradation has become a priority in the soil management protection. Soil biota plays key roles in several supporting and regulating ecosystem services, being an important component of soil food webs. Among soil biota, soil arthropods are considered useful tool for bioindication. QBS-ar index (acronym of Soil Biological Quality) is an expeditious and inexpensive index that may represent a good first step to evaluate soil condition in degraded and natural landscapes. This paper aims to provide a brief guide for technicians and farmers interested in the QBS-ar application, and it summarizes the results obtained by ten years of QBS-ar application considering three important land uses: agriculture (several crops), alfalfa and wood
“Textile Traditions and Fashion Design. New Experiential Paths”
The approach to fashion design and system build around it must be faced in cross-sectional way; to work on fashion doesn’t mean develop a dresses collection but it refers to the analysis of design processes that generate the project intention.
The paper focuses on the territorial dimension of the project, which is meant to be a resource for the development and support of local economies, helping them to increase the value of their cultural identity and their design process as well as production’s know how.
Considering such observations, we can identify a new trend aiming to recover settled in time values, through the strong relationship that connects an individual to a community and manual arts to history and local identity
The friendship between Gabriele d’Annunzio and Angelo Conti is particularly intense in the years 1894-1900, in the context of Venice. Both of them reflect about Venetian painters and especially Giorgione, whose picture they interpret as an expression of Venetian magnificent life. I analyze the meaning of the form fuoco giorgionesco, also used by Walter Pater in his well-known essay The School of Giorgione. I examine in particular Conti’s references to this text, in order to verify their accuracy. I put forward the hypothesis that, when Conti wrote the monograph Giorgione, his knowledge of the English author was incomplete and came largely from articles published in magazines, from conversations with friends, and from the translation into Italian of only short extracts. I argue that it was unlikely that Conti (and d’Annunzio) had read Pater’s whole work in English, which at the time was little known in Italy
Efficient unequal probability resampling from finite populations
A resampling technique for probability-proportional-to size sampling designs is proposed. It is essentially based on a special form of variable probability, without replacement sampling applied directly to the sample data, yet according to the pseudo-population approach. From a theoretical point of view, it is asymptotically correct: as both the sample size and the population size increase, under mild regularity conditions, the proposed resampling design tends to coincide with the original sampling design under which sample data were collected. From a computational point of view, the proposed methodology is easy to be implemented and efficient, because it neither requires the actual construction of the pseudo-population nor any form of randomization to ensure integer weights and sizes. Empirical evidence based on a simulation study1indicates that the proposed resampling technique outperforms its two main competitors for confidence interval construction of various population parameters including quantile
