Nerve conduction study and Fas mediated apoptosis of nerve cells in peripheral neuropathy in type 2 diabetes
AbstractApoptosis may play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of late diabetic neuropathy. We determine the role of Fas mediated apoptosis in the aetiopathogenesis of diabetic neuropathy, by measurement of apoptosis markers, induction of apoptosis by Fas and/or serum and correlate the level of soluble Fas (marker of apoptosis) with the nerve conduction study. Furthermore, we elucidate the role of apoptosis inhibition in prevention of diabetic neuropathy by the Fas blocker (ZB4).There was significant increase in the sFas serum level in diabetics with neuropathy as compared to the controls and diabetic patients without neuropathy (p<0.005). All parameters of the motor median nerve conduction study showed significant correlation with the serum sFas levels, especially the nerve conduction velocity (r=−0.60, p<0.01). Cells treated with the serum of diabetic patients with neuropathy showed significantly higher percentages of early and late apoptosis (p<0.05) compared to the negative control. A 500ng/mL Fas blocker (ZB4), antagonistic anti-Fas antibody caused significantly lower levels of early and late apoptosis (p<0.025) compared to serum of diabetic patients with neuropathy treatment. In conclusion, Fas-mediated apoptosis of the neuronal cell line is responsible for the degradation of the neurons in patients with diabetic neuropathy and provides evidence for the involvement of the receptor pathway in Fas-mediated apoptosis of these cells. Thus, targeting and inhibiting Fas receptor offers an option for diabetic neuropathy therapy
Finite element analysis of CFRP strengthened steel hollow sections under tension
This paper presents a nonlinear finite element (FE) model for the analysis of very high strength (VHS) steel hollow sections wrapped by high modulus carbon fibre rein forced polymer (CFRP) sheets. The bond strength of CFRP wrapped VHS circular steel hollow section under tension is investigated using the FE model. The three dimensional FE model by Nonlinear static analysis has been carried out by Strand 7 finite element software. The model is validated by the experimental data obtained from Fawzia et al [1]. A detail parametric study has been performed to examine the effect of number of CFRP layers, different diameters of VHS steel tube and different bond lengths of CFRP sheet. The analytical model developed by Fawzia et al. [1] has been used to determine the load carrying capacity of different diameters of CFRP strengthened VHS steel tube by using the capacity from each layer of CFRP sheet. The results from FE model have found in reasonable agreement with the analytical model developed by Fawzia et al [1]. This validation was necessary because the analytical model by Fawzia et al [1] was developed by using only one diameter of VHS steel tube and fixed (five) number of CFRP layers. It can be concluded that the developed analytical model is valid for CFRP strengthened VHS steel tubes with diameter range of 38mm to 100mm and CFRP layer range of 3 to 5 layers. Based on the results it can also be concluded that the effective bond length is consistent for different diameters of steel tubes and different layers of CFRP. Three layers of CFRP is considered most effective wrapping scheme due to the cost effectiveness. Finally the distribution of longitudinal and hoop stress has been determined by the finite element model for different diameters of CFRP strengthened VHS steel tube

Musical Instruments in Al-Jahiz
In his writings, the Arab author Al-Jahiz addressed issues related to music, Tarab (a genre of music), and singing. Al-Jahiz was known for his knowledge and literature, and he wrote numerous works that shed light on the luxurious aspects of society. He authored a book titled "Ethics of Singers" and another titled "Singers, Singing, and the Craft." In these books, Al-Jahiz defended singing as an artistic form and believed that it possessed scientific principles and foundations similar to other arts and literature. He promoted singing as a pleasurable art form. Despite his affiliation with the Mu\u27tazila school of thought, Al-Jahiz was a supporter of singing and singers, and he wrote about their ethics and arts. In his treatise "Al-Qiyan," Al-Jahiz discussed the influence of courtesans and their households on Islamic society, pointing to the immorality, passion, and vice that may result from this influence. Overall, Al-Jahiz\u27s writings have had a significant impact on our understanding of music, Tarab, and singing in ancient times
A Review on Children's Literature in Afghanistan
Children\u27s and adolescent literature have a long-life span in the history of mankind and is considered one of the major parts of the literature in every nation. Children\u27s and teenagers\u27 literature received worldwide attention from the 17th century AD. In the 18th century, scientists drew the attention of educators and people to children\u27s literature by research publishing works. In our rich classical literature, there is not much research done on children\u27s literature. However, various works have been done for children in recent years. The first children\u27s magazine in Afghanistan was Siraj-ul-Atfal, which was published continuously with Siraj-ul-Akhbar. This magazine was mostly educational and entertaining, and most of its content was general information, scientific topics, religious and moral content in the form of poems and stories. After publishing the children literature in Siraj-ul-Akhbar, other publications also started about children\u27s literature in Afghanistan, such as children’s friendship, youngs friendship, and children\u27s voice. Some writers have also done research on children\u27s literature in Afghanistan, such as Abdul Qayyum Qoyim, Mohammad Hossein Yamin, Paizi Hanafi, Habibullah Rafi, Dr Asadullah Khitfi, Seyyed Davoud Zahdi, Pouya Faryabi, Asif Behand, Raziq Varin, and Osman Najand
Theoretical Insights of History, Morality, and Society as the Literary Trio of the Author-Reader Relationship.
This paper attempts to examine the relationship between the author and the reader by polarizing history, morality, and society as a selected triad of theoretical interpretation. The study mainly focuses on the theoretical insights of these relationships in order to give proper clues for delving deep into the technical and thematic peculiarities of different literary genres. Therefore, it follows a qualitative approach to some fictional works, particularly novels, to demonstrate how the authorial perspective intersects with the reader’s ability to grasp the latent textual messages projected by authors in the course of the plots. The relationship between the author and the reader will be limited to three related topics, namely, history, morality, and society. As for history, the study sheds light on the postcolonial attributes of literature to reveal the function of liberal humanism in bridging the gap between the colonized people and the colonizers. Morality, on the other hand, will be discussed to explore the relative view of morality by authors and how the reader might conceptualize it according to his/her cultural background. Lastly, the discussion of society will be limited to the social customs and norms approached by authors to deliver a comprehensive depiction of the social reality in which the reader lives his/her true life
