    Hyper-impulsive motion on manifolds

    No full text
Hyper-impulsive motion is a branch of control theory applied to Lagrangian mechanical systems developed in [8]. Suppose that part of system's coordinates are 'controllized' i.e. identified with a control function u that can be discontinuous. Due to the presence of the derivative of u in the dynamic equation, the resulting motion is discontinuous both in the configurations and momenta in the general case. In this paper we show that the discontinuity in the phase-space trajectory consequent to a jump (a finite discontinuity) of the control can be determined by a parallel transport operation relatively to the dynamic connection introduced by C.M. Studio mediante sistemi in vitro e HPLC delle differenze specie specifiche dei metaboliti idrossilati del Testosterone

SUMMARY - A preliminary study was performed to investigate by HPLC analyses the metabolism of testosterone to various hydroxylated metabolites by using liver microsomal preaparation obtained from different veterinary species. The analytical method was able to identify and quantify the various TST-metabolites produced. Different production of the metabolites was observed among the different veterinary species considered

Combining Discourse Representation Theory with FrameNet

    No full text
Discourse Representation Theory (DRT) by and large ignores the issue of thematic roles. We have investigated the possibilities of combining DRT with thematic roles such as those from FrameNet, both from a theoretical and practical perspective. We show that a neo-Davidsonian version of DRT matches best with FrameNet's intentions, but also demonstrate that not all FrameNet roles can be meaningfullly expressed in the representation language of DRT, in particular those introduced by adverbs. Using a wide-coverage implementation of DRT, we present an algorithm for learning FrameNet roles and adding these to the meaning representations produced by a state-of-the-art wide coverage parser

Several examples of nonholonomic mechanical systems

    No full text
summary:A unified geometric approach to nonholonomic constrained mechanical systems is applied to several concrete problems from the classical mechanics of particles and rigid bodies. In every of these examples the given constraint conditions are analysed, a corresponding constraint submanifold in the phase space is considered, the corresponding constrained mechanical system is modelled on the constraint submanifold, the reduced equations of motion of this system (i.e. equations of motion defined on the constraint submanifold) are presented. Finally, solvability of these equations is discussed and general solutions in explicit form are found
