Du Moi à l’ombre double dans "La Chouette aveugle" de Sadegh Hedayat
International audienceThe question of the Self in some Iranian authors appears under the image of the Double through their characters. The autobiographical work of Sadegh Hedayat made on a particular language is a knowledge even to the construction of oneself. This self-Knowledge represents the author’s personal and obscure unconsciousness, that of the shadow. The latter is the term very common among surrealists. The Iranian author shows a beautiful image of the universe of wandering shadows that possibly testifies to the legitimacy of the rapprochement between him and the surrealist movement. This article will try to study the theme of the «ego» with regard to the archetype of the shadow in The Blind Owl by Sadegh Hedayat.
Predicting the Severity of Anxiety Attacks with Machine Learning
This project applies machine learning models to predict the severity of anxiety attacks based on psychological, health, and lifestyle factors. Gradient Boosting, Random Forest, and Lasso Regression were used for model training. The goal is to provide insights that can help healthcare professionals and patients in managing anxiety attacks more effectively
Community detection in complex networks, 2015
This research study has produced advances in the understanding of communities within a complex network. A community in this context is defined as a subgraph with a higher internal density and a lower crossing density with respect to other subgraphs. In this study, a novel and efficient distance-based ranking algorithm called the Correlation Density Rank (CDR) has been proposed and is utilized for a broad range of applications, such as deriving the community structure and the evolution graph of the organizational structure from a dynamic social network, extracting common members between overlapped communities, performance-based comparison between different service providers in a wireless network, and finding optimal reliability-oriented assignment tasks to processors in heterogeneous distributed computing systems. The experiments, conducted on both synthetic and real datasets, demonstrate the feasibility and applicability of the framework

Sibā-Zeynab-Zibā : the metamorphoses of an Iranian woman
Zibā Nāvak’s three-volume autobiography provides not only an alternative account of the Islamic Revolution but also offers a fascinating counter-narrative of post-revolutionary prison experience. Once a communist revolutionary, a repentant prisoner (tavvāb) and a fanatical supporter of Xomeyni, who eventually became a liberated blogger, Nāvak makes an attempt to construct a coherent narrative identity of her multiple selves. To achieve it, she resorts to the rhetoric of sincerity, metaphorical figures and the literary patterns of a mystical quest which are dominant in Persian literature and in which an apparent fall might prove an indispensable stage of spiritual progress

The Effects of Bilingualism on Long-term Memory
The current study is designed to examine the relationship between bilingualism and memory performance using a between-subjects experimental approach. During this study, we compared the effect of bilingual and monolingual participants through two-computer based tasks. We are interested in investigating and understanding how bilingualism impacts long-term memory via free recall and recognition as moderators. We expect bilingual people will have higher recall than monolingual people and monolingual people will have higher recognition than bilingual people. Participation will contribute to expanding our knowledge on whether bilingualism serves as a cognitive advantage or presents any challenges in memory tasks
Confidence and Self-Esteem in Recall
This study investigates the impact of self-esteem and confidence on recall. The primary objective of this research was to assess the relationship between the level of confidence and the accuracy of the recall, when mediated by self-esteem. 40 Belmont University students were recruited online through the SONA system, where they completed a survey to provide data on their self-esteem, confidence, and demographic information. Students were given a one-minute clip after filling out the self-esteem survey, in which they then answered recall questions regarding that clip. The study aims to assess the relationship between self-esteem levels and accuracy of recall. We predicted that higher levels of confidence and self-esteem would be associated with more accurate recall. These findings could suggest self-esteem influences individuals’ confidence in their memories. If someone has high self-esteem, they may be more confident about their recollections, while someone with low self-esteem may lack confidence, even if the actual recall is the same. Future research could explore how cultural, emotional, and demographic factors influence the relationship between self-esteem, confidence, and memory recall
