    Seiring dengan peningkatan aktivitas seismik yang salah satunya ditandai dengan pengingkatan sesar aktif sebesar 450% dari tahun 2010 ke tahun 2017. Kebutuhan akan bangunan tahan gempa merupakan sebuah hal yang harus terpenuhi, khususnya untuk daerah dengan tingkat kerawanan gempa tinggi seperti di Surabaya yang diapit oleh dua sesar aktif. Terbatasnya kemampuan evakuasi diri penghuni gedung tinjauan menjadi pertimbangan untuk melakukan analisis lebih lanjut guna melindungi manusia dari adanya bencana alam. Pada tugas akhir ini akan dibahas bagaimana perbandingan struktur yang biasa digunakan(fixbase) dengan struktur isolasi (base isolation) tipe Friction Pendulum System (FPS), untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh base isolation bekerja terhadap perilaku bangunan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbandingan tulangan struktur primer, gaya geser dasar, displacement, inter-story drift, level kinerja, dan pola keruntuhan struktur gedung fixbase dengan struktur base isolation. Diambil studi kasus Gedung C RS UPT Vertikal yang berada di wilayah gempa tinggi yaitu Surabaya. Untuk mengetahui kinerja struktur jika terkena gempa dilakukan analisis Nonlinear Time History (NLTHA). Berdasarkan hasil analisis didapatkan bahwa struktur dengan base isolation memiliki periode lebih besar 2,5 kali dari struktur fixed base. Struktur base isolation dengan nilai koefisien modifikasi respon (R=2) memiliki gaya geser dasar yang lebih kecil dibandingan dengan struktur fixed base yang menggunakan nilai koefisien modifikasi respon (R=8) dengan selisih sebesar 15,68%. Penggunaan struktur base isolation mampu mereduksi tulangan longitudinal pada balok sebesar 21,18 – 71,12 kg/m3 beton dan kolom sebesar 138,6 – 415,80 kg/m3 beton, drift rasio pada arah X sebesar 70,42% dan arah Y sebesar 89,82%, dan meningkatkan kinerja dari intermediate occupancy (IO) menjadi level fully operational. Hasil perencanaan elemen struktur didapatkan tebal pelat 12 cm, dimensi balok anak BA1 30x45 cm dan BA2 25x40cm, dimensi balok induk B1 60x90cm, B4 50x80 cm, dan B5 45x70cm, dimensi kolom K1 100x100cm, K2 80x80 cm, K3 70x70 cm, dan K4 60x60 cm. Friction pendulum yang digunakan pada gedung ini terdapat tiga tipe yaitu SIP-D-HF-326, SIP D-HF-327, dan SIP-D-HF-328 yang merupakan produk dari Maurer. Kata Kunci : base isolation, nonlinear time history, kinerja seismik ======================================================================================================================== Along with the increase in seismic activity, one of which is marked by an increase in active faults by 450% from 2010 to 2017. The need for earthquake-resistant buildings is something that must be met, especially for areas with high earthquake vulnerability such as Surabaya which is flanked by two active faults. The limited ability of self-evacuation of occupants of the review building is a consideration for conducting further analysis to protect humans from natural disasters. In this final assignment, we will discuss how the comparison of commonly used structures (fixbase) with the Friction Pendulum System (FPS) type isolation structure (base isolation) will be discussed, to determine how far base isolation works on building behavior. This study aims to determine the comparison of primary structural reinforcement, basic shear force, displacement, inter-story drift, performance level, and collapse pattern of the fixbase building structure with the base isolation structure. A case study was taken of Building C of the Vertical UPT Hospital located in a high earthquake area, namely Surabaya. To determine the performance of the structure if it is hit by an earthquake, a Nonlinear Time History (NLTHA) analysis was carried out. Based on the analysis results, it was found that the structure with base isolation has a period 2.5 times greater than the fixed base structure. The base isolation structure with a response modification coefficient value (R = 2) has a smaller base shear force compared to the fixed base structure using a response modification coefficient value (R = 8) with a difference of 15.68%. The use of the base isolation structure can reduce the longitudinal reinforcement in the beam by 21.18 - 71.12 kg / m3 of concrete and columns by 138.6 - 415.80 kg / m3 of concrete, the drift ratio in the X direction by 70.42% and the Y direction by 89.82% and increase the performance of intermediate occupancy (IO) to the fully operational level. The results of the structural element planning obtained a plate thickness of 12 cm, dimensions of child beams BA1 30x45 cm and BA2 25x40cm, dimensions of main beams B1 60x90cm, B4 50x80 cm, and B5 45x70cm, dimensions of columns K1 100x100cm, K2 80x80 cm, K3 70x70 cm, and K4 60x60 cm. There are three types of friction pendulums used in this building, namely SIP-D-HF-326, SIP D-HF-327, and SIP-D-HF-328 which are products of Maurer.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
