    Replication of the self and engagement with liminal spaces has informed our collaborative practice. 3D body scanning, processing and digital printing proffered new methods of engagement as yet uncharted to capture ourselves faithfully. (http://www.brassart.org.uk) Test body scans suggested the potential to reveal public and private aspects of ‘the self’ – representing both the physiological and psychological aspects of a subject.     Empédocles de Acragas (Girgenti), nacido hacia 495 a.C., aparece como una de las figuras más grandiosas y asombrosas de la historia de la cultura griega. Su multifacética personalidad se afirmó en las más diversas orientaciones; fue investigador y pensador, profeta y mago, político, filántropo y médico naturista; de él se cuenta que libró de la malaria a la ciudad de Selinonte, y sus contemporáneos lo veneraban como a un dios. Su espíritu parece haber reunido dentro de sí los más tajantes opuestos; exacto y sobrio en sus investigaciones físicas y fisiológicas, no retrocede, ante una oscura mística, y edifica una especulación cósmica de una osadía asombrosamente fantástica. Capelle lo compara con el doctor Fausto, "a quien tantos secretos fueron revelados".
