No full textNote:From 1675 to 1687, Father Chrestien Leclercq, a Recollect, evangelized micmac people of the Gaspe Peninsula. A part of the author's works, composed in New France, is untraceable at the present time. It concerns a Micmac dictionary and hieroglyphics, represented on note papers, which helped since the XVIIth century to make the micmac community literate. This hieroglyphic system, although altered to some extent, was practised by the Micmacs until the beginning of the XXth century. On returning to France, Father Leclercq published in 1691 New Relation of Gaspesia, a valuable document on the Micmac society of the XVII the century, and First Establishment of the Faith in New France, which refers to the history of the French colonial community and of the evangelization of Indians from the beginning of the XVIIth century by the Recollect. These two works make their author one of prominent historiographers of New France.Le Père Leclercq, récollet, évangélisa les Micmacs de la Gaspésie, de 1675 à 1687. Une partie de son œuvre, composée en Nouvelle France, est actuellement introuvable. Circular Communities: The circular value flower as a design method for collectively closing resource flows
No full textIn Circular Communities, pioneering, collectively supported initiatives that are aimed at closing resource cycles at neighbourhood level take a central position. They are all examples of initiatives that contribute to the transition to a circular economy. For the analysis of these different circular initiatives, the researchers – urban designer Els Leclercq and architect Mo Smit - developed a unique method: the Circular Value Flower method. This method helps to organize the collective closing of resource cycles (bio and tech materials, energy, water and nutrients) on a neighbourhood scale and provides insight into the added value (social, ecological, aesthetic, cultural and economic) that can be realized within the built environment. Circular Communities offers inspiration and lessons for integral sustainable interventions at the scale of the neighbourhood and ties in with the new Dutch Environmental Planning Act, which explicitly offers room for citizen initiatives and local commissioning in the Netherlands.Design AestheticsArchitectural Technolog

No full textLa prise en charge du rétrécissement aortique a connu une véritable révolution avec l’avènement du remplacement valvulaire aortique percutané (TAVI). Cette technique, s’adressant initialement à des patients à haut risque chirurgical, a été étendue à des patients à moindre risque du fait de l’amélioration des résultats et s’est accompagnée, au fil des années, d’une simplification de la procédure. Cependant, la sélection rigoureuse des patients en amont de la procédure reste la clé du succès de cette technique. Les facteurs cliniques et échographiques sont insuffisants pour permettre une évaluation précise du profil de risque. Certains biomarqueurs et les calcifications de la valve aortique, permettraient d’améliorer la stratification du risque. L’objectif de ce travail était d’évaluer la valeur pronostique de la troponine et du score calcique valvulaire dans le TAVI à l’ère de l’évolution des pratiques. Le premier chapitre de cette thèse a permis de confirmer la valeur pronostique de la troponine en pré et post-procédure TAVI et celle du score calcique avec les valves de la précédente génération. Le deuxième chapitre de ce travail a permis de mettre en évidence l’impact de la prédilatation sur l’élévation de troponine post-procédure avec un rôle pronostique potentiel.Management of aortic stenosis was revolutionized by the advent of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI). This technique, initially targeting patients at high surgical risk, was extended to lower risk patients regarding to improved outcomes and was accompanied, over the years, by a simplification at each step of the procedure. However, the careful selection of patients upstream of the procedure remains the key to success. Clinical and echographic factors are not sufficient to allow an accurate assessment of their risk profile. Thus, biomarkers and aortic valve calcifications evaluation may improve risk profile stratification. The objective of this thesis was to evaluate the prognostic value of troponin and aortic valve calcium score in patients undergoing TAVI in the era of TAVI simplificationThe first chapter of this thesis confirmed the prognostic value of pre- and post-procedure troponin (myocardial injury) in patients undergoing TAVI and of calcium score with previous generation prosthesis.The second chapter highlighted the impact of predilatation on this post-procedure troponin elevation with a potential prognostic impact
The professional world of the integration of young workers with disabilities : between segmentation and normalization
No full textCette thèse analyse les tensions entre les dynamiques de segmentation et de normalisation des modalités de gestion sociale de l’anormalité, tant dans les institutions, les dispositifs que dans les pratiques dans le monde professionnel de l'insertion des jeunes travailleurs handicapés. Il s’agit de mettre en lumière les difficultés et les tensions que rencontrent ces professionnels, dans leur diversité,, et l'impact significatif des politiques d'inclusion. La recherche vise à comprendre, du point de vue des professionnels, les effets de la diversité des institutions sociales, des dispositifs, des pratiques, en les mettant en contextes spatial, temporel et symbolique (Abbott, 2016).La méthodologie repose sur 40 entretiens semi-directifs avec 37 professionnels de l'insertion et 3 jeunes travailleurs handicapés. Ces entretiens ont permis d'analyser les pratiques et les représentations de l'accompagnement, ainsi que de comprendre les interactions entre les professionnels issus de diverses institutions travaillant, ou pas, ensemble.Les résultats mettent en évidence les difficultés de la transition entre milieux protégés et milieux ordinaires imposée par le modèle inclusif. Ces obstacles sont liées à la diversité des établissements et institutions, des représentations du handicap et des pratiques d’accompagnement des professionnels.La construction et le maintien des réseaux occupent une place centrale dans les préoccupations des acteurs au sein de ce monde professionnel spécifique. Les questions de transition professionnelle, de collaboration entre institutions et de valorisation des compétences sont au cœur des attentions des professionnels. Leurs postures sont en tension entre adaptation technique et bricolage institutionnel, nécessitant un travail d'accompagnement complexe mêlant sensibilisation, médiation et négociation.This thesis analyzes tensions between the dynamics of segmentation and normalization of social management modalities of abnormality, both in institutions, devices, and practices in the professional world of integrating young workers with disabilities. The aim is to highlight the difficulties and tensions in the social and professional integration work of young workers with disabilities and the significant impact of inclusion policies. The research seeks to understand, from the professionals' perspective, their challenges by exploring the diversity of social institutions, devices, practices, and placing them in spatial, temporal, and symbolic contexts (Abbott, 2016).The methodology is based on 40 semi-structured interviews with 37 integration professionals and 3 young workers with disabilities. These interviews allowed for the analysis of support practices and representations, as well as understanding the interactions between professionals from various institutions working together or not.The results highlight administrative difficulties in the transition between protected and ordinary environments related to the variety of establishments and institutions.The representations of disability and support practices of professionals, the construction, and maintenance of professional networks play a central role in the practices of professionals in this specific professional world. Questions of professional transition, collaboration between institutions, and skills enhancement are at the heart of professionals' concerns. Professional practices are in tension between technical adaptation and institutional tinkering, requiring complex support work involving awareness, mediation, and negotiation
Erosive aggressiveness of collapsing cavitating structures
No full textThe erosive aggressiveness of idealized cavities collapsing on a flat surface is investigated by numerical simulation, employing the cavitation intensity approach by Leclercq et al (2017) as a measure of the local energy impact rate. We propose a more straight forward formulation of the cavitation intensity model and verify that it satisfies energy conservation requirements for the accumulated surface energy. Based on the cavitation intensity model, statistical aggressiveness indicators are proposed. The indicators account for the rapidness and frequency of the collapse events. No full textOsvaldo Guariglia ha sostenido la tesis de que los rasgos fundamentales de la deliberación práctica pueden esquematizarse tomando como modelo el silogismo práctico aristotélico. Una de las tesis centrales que afirma el autor es que existe una conexión necesaria entre la aceptación de las premisas de un silogismo práctico y la afirmación de su conclusión. Intentaremos demostrar que esa tesis no resulta plausible dado que no ofrece una adecuada conceptualización del papel que juega el costo del error en los procesos de argumentación orientados a la toma de decisiones.Osvaldo Guariglia has defended the thesis that the fundamental features of practical deliberation should be constructed taking the Aristotelian practical syllogism as a model. One of the central claims that the author affirms is that there is necessary connection between the acceptance of the premises of a practical syllogism and the affirmation of its conclusion.
