“Escribir desde los márgenes. La narrativa de Iosi Havilio”
The aim of this article is to critically read Iosi Havilio’s books demonstrating how contemporary Argentinian literature offers a gaze from the suburbs. The author explores, from a marginal perspective, contemporary society and the relationship between centre and periphery. In the novel Paraísos we can identify some central issues by this author that can be linked to new Argentinian literature

Assessing and training leaders' emotional intelligence, and its influence on their employees.
Zammuner, V., Favaro, T., Gonella, F., & Prandi, K. (2016). Assessing and training leaders' emotional intelligence, and its influence on their employees. ICERI2016 Proceedings,.pp 5153-5162 (9th annual International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation, Siviglia (E), 14-16 November, 2016). The importance and role of emotions in the work setting have received in recent years an increasing attention, as regards emotions experienced both by individuals, such as employees at the various organizational levels, and as a function of job or role characteristics, and emotions that are related to work-setting structural and dynamic issues, such as those that employees feel towards their leaders, and vice versa, according to leaders' emotional capabilities, and to leadership style. The study tested whether Self-reported leaders' emotional intelligence (EI) capabilities (LEI), are congruent with Other-reported LEI, and whether a brief self-administered online training program (Tremints) affects Self- and Other-reported LEI assessments at post-training, as well as leaders' and employees' emotion-related aspects of work- and general-well being (e.g., Job involvement, Life satisfaction, Health level, and Positive and Negative felt affect), as well leaders' self-perception of their own emotional abilities, including preferred strategies of emotion regulation, level of adhesion to display rules of emotion, and own job-related and general well being (e.g., Job involvement and satisfaction, Health, Affect).
Study design. The study employed an experimental pre-post design, with Time (T1 pre-test, and T2 post-test) as the within-subject factor, and Condition (Experimental vs. Control) as the between-subject factor; 25 leaders and their 77 employees formed the experimental group, 4 leaders and 12 employees formed the control group. Most participants were hospital employees working in various sanitary units. At T1, leaders self-rated various EI measures (e.g., ECI scales of EI), whereas employees rated their leader. Employees and leaders also self-rated aspects of their work-related and general wellbeing. At T2, i.e., after Experimental leaders underwent an EI training, leaders and employees again rated LEI, and evaluated their own well-being. Data were analyzed in terms of response frequencies, mean ratings, t-tests, and by means of correlational and MANOVA analyses comparing Experimental and Control leaders and employees at T1 and T2. The results overall showed that at T1 leaders of both groups overall judged themselves as more emotionally competent than their employees did, and enjoyed somewhat greater work-related well being than employees; leaders' EI self-ratings in either group were unrelated to their employees' well being. At T2, Control leaders self-rated their EI as being higher that an T1, contrary to their employees who rated them less positively than at T1. Experimental employees rated instead their leaders similarly to how they had rated them at T1, but their evalutations of their leaders were at T2 reflected in employees' well being; experimental leaders' EI self-ratings did not generally increase from T1 to T2. In sum, the results showed that most Time 2 measures differed significantly from Time 1 measures, but effects were markedly differed in the experimental and the control group and not easy to interpret. The results led to the hypothesis, to be further tested in future studies, that employees' initial assessment of their leaders' EI skills increases their awareness of LEI, so that their T2 ratings of their leaders are based on a greater attention paid to their leaders' EI and are more accurate
Il meccanismo di assicurazione nello stato moderno: la “sicurezza” del legittimo affidamento
The essay retraces the theme of the state as an “insurance mechanism”, highlighting how today this system can be recognized in the common request for legal certainty and even more in the principle of entrusting (affidability). To overcome this crisis the Author proposes to recover the paradigm of “prudentia iuris” through the daily activity of the judges
Voces efímeras: el drama de la migración transfronteriza en México
The analysis I propose is about Emiliano Monge's novel Las tierras arrasadas (2015). In this novel the author examines the hell in which the Central American migrants live while crossing the Mexico-United States border. I examine the multiple voices among the narrator, migrant characters, migrant testimonies and some quotes from Dante's Divine Comedy. I specifically focus on the subaltern role in the novel as a victim of traffickers abuses and the ambiguous genre of the text, between testimonial tale and narrative fiction. The analysis I propose is about Emiliano Monge's novel Las tierras arrasadas (2015). Tecnologie e ragazzi fuori della scuola: un punto di partenza per riflettere sull’introduzione delle tecnologie nei contesti formali di apprendimento
Un linguaggio che attraversa gli oceani, un ponte tra Ca’ Foscari e Cuba
Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, as is its distinctly international tradition, has woven a
dense network of relationships, collaborations, mobility projects with Cuba and Cuban
universities. From these exchanges, which have intensified in the last two years, the
Venetian University has been enriched in terms of knowledge, disciplinary perspectives,
interpretations and opportunities. An emblematic example of these enrichments is the
collaboration between Francesco Della Puppa, the La Habana branch of the Italian Agency
for Development Cooperation (AICS) and the Universidad de Les Artes de La Habana
(ISA), aimed at the implementation of the project “Avenida Italia – Integrated urban
redevelopment for local valorisation and support for innovative, biological, sustainable,
community, creative and circular economies”, intended for the accompaniment and to the
creation of cultural and social activities, which primarily involve young people and
women, in a portion of the Municipality of Centro Habana, adjacent to the so-called
Avenida Italia.
Within this project, Francesco Della Puppa collaborated with young people from the
Municipality, local artists, ISA students and AICS to create a creative writing and “drawn
literature” workshop. The academy and the world of official culture in Cuba include
children's illustration, animation and comics within the category of “high” literature,
differently from what risks happening in Italy, but consistently with tradition and
legitimation that these artistic languages find in Hispanic America. Therefore, this
contribution will give an account of the collaboration with AICS and ISA, of the
experience of the Avenida Italia project, of the creative writing and comics workshop path
with the young people of Centro Habana, not before having reconstructed and analyzed
the experiences and traditions of performing and visual arts of Cuba, framing them within
the broader Latin American context
I togati e la nuova nobiltà nella Sicilia del Seicento: il caso della famiglia Di Napoli
The Virtues of the Tyrant and the Passions of the Hero. «Il Forno overo della nobiltà» and the Treatises on Heroic Virtue
Focusing on the dialogue Il Forno overo della nobiltà, the author argues that Tasso differentiates himself from mainstream tradition by offering a less strict and less abstract conception of human greatness. He traces this greatness even in the usually despised figure of the tyrant. In Tasso’s view, traditionally opposite figures like the tyrant and the hero can have something in common. The author highlights the connections between this conception and philosophical reflections on heroic virtue. For example, Tasso was inspired by the Neoplatonic Proclus and the Aristotelian Flaminio de’ Nobili. After comparing Forno’s attitude towards tyranny and heroism with the one of the Gerusalemme Liberata and of the Gerusalemme Conquistata, the author discusses briefly the reception of Forno’s views on tyranny in two little-known works on heroic virtue, that is the dialogue L’eroe, overo della Virtù eroica by Francesco India (1591) and the treatise Sommaria descritione dell’eroe by Decio Celeri (1607)
