Réponse à B. Défaut, E. Boitier, R Cloupeau, F. Dusoulier, G. C. Luquet, D. Morin & E. Sardet à propos de l'Atlas des Orthoptères et des Mantides de France
An answer to B. Défaut, E. Boitier, R. Cloupeau, F. Dusoulier, G. C. Luquet, D. Morin & E. Sardet about the Atlas of Orthoptera and Mantodea of France. The critical article of the Atlas of Orthoptera and Mantodea of France by the above-mentioned authors is reviewed. It proves to be a mixture where a few justified observations are merged in a lot of sophisms and untrue statements.La critique de l'Atlas des Orthoptères et Mantides de France par Défaut et al. (2004) est analysée. Elle se révèle être un amalgame où se côtoient, à côté de quelques observations justifiées, sophismes et contre-vérités.Voisin Jean-François. Réponse à B. Défaut, E. About the Atlas of the Grasshoppers, Crickets and Mantids of France (J.-F. Voisin edit., 2003). The book Atlas des Orthoptères et des Mantides de France is analysed. Mistakes and gaps are given with regard to nomenclature, taxonomy and data (recent or old) about geographical distribution of the species.L 'Atlas des Orthoptères et des Mantides de France (2003) est analysé.
Locating Fiber Loss Anomalies with a Receiver-side Monitoring Algorithm exploiting Cross-Phase Modulation
We propose and experimentally test a cross-phase modulation based algorithm to monitor network loss anomalies from detected data. The idea does not need service interruption, special signals, nor an exhaustive search of the anomaly coordinate
Multipoint Overlapping Optical Networks
Coherent transmission has drastically evolved in the last decade to provide high flexibility to improve spectral efficiency. This yields a point-to-point capacity close to Shannon's limit. In this work, we present the multipoint overlapping optical network architecture in a multi-transmitter to single-receiver context to boost the network capacity. It overlaps two optical signals, partly reusing network resources, here frequency slots of 12.5 GHz width. We show that a joint digital signal processing, based on multi-stage parallel interference cancellation efficiently compensates inter-channel interference up to 39% spectrum overlap with a 1 dB SNR penalty for PDM-QPSK signals. To investigate the impact of the residual interference penalty, we model the proposed solution as an additional power-independent Gaussian-noise term introduced in the transmission. Experiments and simulations have successfully validated the model and the extra penalty is shown to be dependent only on the chosen overlapping given factor. Finally, with such a model, we study the network gains brought by the proposed architecture. We investigate different networking scenarios assuming either 2-slot and 3-slot of overlapping, resulting in similar to 20% and similar to 40% of overlapping. We demonstrate a network capacity gain of up to 17%
Simulace lidského hlasu s využitím MKP modelu vokálního traktu
Finite element models of male vocal tract for Czech vowel /a/ are analyzed and used for numerical simulation of phonation. The models were designed from the MRI the subject during phonation. The acoustic signals for the vowel /a/ are simulated using the transient analysis. For excitation of the supraglottal spaces the intraglottal pressure or airflow rate generated by the aeroelastic model of vocal folds self-oscillations is used. The frequency and time response functions calculated near the lips and in front of the mouth are compared with acoustic measurements
Dynamická analýza tenkostěnné kruhové desky ovlivněné interakcí s kapalně-plynným prostředím v elastické válcové kavitě
The study deals with the free vibration analysis of a cylindrical thick-walled cavity filled by a gas axially bounded at one end by a liquid interface and by a thin elastic disc at the other end. Numerical calculations performed are compared with theoretical solution and with the experimental results. The interaction between water and air in a rigid cavity was also studied. The influence of a compliance of the rigid cavity on the natural frequencies was taken into account for comparison with experimental data
Demonstration of a SDN-based Spectrum Monitoring of Elastic Optical Networks
We demonstrate optical channel monitoring capabilities executed as SDN applications. To guarantee Quality of Transmission, diagnostic is performed by dynamically selecting the list of optical parameters to be monitored and by adjusting their polling rates
Frequency modal analysis of liquid/gas interaction in cylindrical container covered by thin circular plate
The aim is to determine frequency-modal characteristics of the coupled system and to show when the fluid-structural and/or liquid-gas couplings are important for the dynamic behavior of the structure or fluid. A general theoretical solution is derived and the analytical-numerical results are partially compared with results obtained by finite element method (FEM) using ANSYS program code
Počítačová simulace lidského hlasu s využitím aeroelastického modelu hlasivek a MKP modelu vokálního traktu člověka
The developed finite element (FE) model of real male vocal tract that corresponds to the Czech vowel /a/ is used for numerical simulation of phonation. The FE model was designed from the magnetic resonance images (MRI) of the subject during phonation. The acoustic signals for the vowel /a/ are simulated using the transient analysis of the FE model in time domain. For excitation of the acoustic supraglottal spaces the intraglottal pressure generated by the aeroelastic model of vocal folds self-oscillations is used. The frequency and time response functions are calculated in front of the mouth
