F-OSFA: A Fog Level Generalizable Solution for Zero-Day DDOS Attacks Detection
The globalization and digitization of society have caused a surge in network traffic, making reliable online services essential for user trust and system functionality. However, these services face ever-increasing threats, particularly complex and well-developed Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Zero-day DDoS attacks, a type of DDoS attack, are especially challenging because their new and unseen nature and lack of training data render traditional Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS) ineffective. To tackle this, we propose the Fog-based One Solution For All (F-OSFA) system - a model with three specialized components. The first component uses a hybrid machine learning and deep learning framework that combines convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and decision trees to detect traditional DDoS attacks. The second component employs a few-shot learning module with a contractive autoencoder for zero-day attack detection. The third component is a signature-based resource usage analyzer to counter attacks mimicking normal traffic. We demonstrate the efficacy of F-OSFA on publicly available datasets and prove the scheme is generalizable and effective. F-OSFA achieves an accuracy of 99.72% on CICDDoS2019 and 99.96% on CICIDS2017. In addition, it demonstrates its efficacy in the zero-day scenario as well by achieving a 96.77% on CICDDoS2019 and 95.98% on CICIDS2017. These evaluations testify to F-OSFA as a reliable and versatile solution against ever-evolving DDoS threats
Analysis on factors affecting investment as an alternative earning of employees in CTRM Aero Composites Melaka / Muhammad Azfar Md Sadan and Noor Afifah Saari
The study was conducted to find out the significant relationship between independent variables with dependent variable. The variables selected are investment return, individual knowledge, promotion and advertising, and saving for future. The dependent variable is investment as alternative earning. The method used for this study is the regression analysis. The result then has been interpreted base on the correlation, coefficient correlation, F-statistic and T- statistic. The data used for the study are collected for the period of January until July year of 2013. Base on the result, it was concluded that individual knowledge and saving for future are not significant toward the investment as alternative earning. However, there are significant relationship between investment return, promotion and advertising toward the investment as alternative earning
Cognitive Procedures and Hyperbolic Discounting
"Hyperbolic discount functions are characterized by a relatively high discount rate over short horizons and a relatively low discount rate over long horizons" (Laibson 1997).We suggest two cognitive procedures where individuals perceive future utility as decreasing at a decreasing rate as a function of time.Such a perception is similar to hyperbolic discounting. The first procedure shows that individuals hyperbolically discount marginal utility from money when they follow a cognitive procedure in which they believe that their wealth might increase or decrease in each future period under the constraint of a perceived small probability that wealth will decrease below its current level. The second procedure shows that individuals hyperbolically discount expected utility from consumption when they believe that they will rationalize their actions and thus alter their utility function over time. The difference in how perceived utility changes over the short and long horizon generates the hyperbolic discounting phenomenon. We find that greater tendencies toward rationalization and greater volatility in consumption increase the hyperbolic discounting phenomenon. Although hyperbolic disc ounting is usually regarded as impulsive and irrational, Azfar (1999) and this author suggest that hyperbolic discounting may be rational in some cases.cognitive process;preferences;bias;rationality;marginalism
B, Lambda{sub b} and charm results from the Tevatron
Recent results on B{sub d}, B{sub u}{sup {+-}}, B{sub s}, {Lambda}{sub b} and Charm hadrons are reported from {approx} 75 pb{sup -1} and {approx} 40 pb{sup -1} of data accumulated at the upgraded CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron {bar p}-p collider, during Run-II. These include lifetime and mass measurements of B and Charm hadrons, searches for rare decays in charm and B hadrons and CP-violation in Charm decays. Results relevant to CP-violation in B-decays are also reported
International cooperation group of emergency surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic
Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has changed working conditions for emergency surgical teams around the world. International surgical societies have issued clinical recommendations to optimize surgical management. This international study aimed to assess the degree of emergency surgical teams’ adoption of recommendations during the pandemic. Methods: Emergency surgical team members from over 30 countries were invited to answer an anonymous, prospective, online survey to assess team organization, PPE-related aspects, OR preparations, anesthesiologic considerations, and surgical management for emergency surgery during the pandemic. Results: One-hundred-and-thirty-four questionnaires were returned (N = 134) from 26 countries, of which 88% were surgeons, 7% surgical trainees, 4% anesthetists. 81% of the respondents got involved with COVID-19 crisis management. Social media were used by 91% of the respondents to access the recommendations, and 66% used videoconference tools for team communication. 51% had not received PPE training before the pandemic, 73% reported equipment shortage, and 55% informed about re-use of N95/FPP2/3 respirators. Dedicated COVID operating areas were cited by 77% of the respondents, 44% had performed emergency surgical procedures on COVID-19 patients, and over half (52%), favored performing laparoscopic over open surgical procedures. Conclusion: Surgical team members have responded with leadership to the COVID-19 pandemic, with crisis management principles. Social media and videoconference have been used by the vast majority to access guidelines or to communicate during social distancing. The level of adoption of current recommendations is high for organizational aspects and surgical management, but not so for PPE training and availability, and anesthesiologic considerations

Collaborations with influencers and strategic partnerships can also amplify brand visibility. By implementing these recommendations, Mokky’s Pizza can strengthen its competitive position, overcome operational challenges, and achieve sustainable growth in Malaysia’s dynamic F&B marke
Creating an efficient financial system : challenges in a global economy
Financial sector development fosters economic growth and reduces poverty by widening and broadening access to finance and allocating society's savings more efficiently. The author first discusses three pillars on which sound and efficient financial systems are built: macroeconomic stability and effective and reliable contractual and informational frameworks. He then describes three different approaches to government involvement in the financial sector: the laissez-faire view, the market-failure view and the market-enabling view. Finally, the author analyzes the sequencing of financial sector reforms and discusses the benefits and challenges that emerging markets face when opening their financial systems to international capital markets.Banks&Banking Reform,Financial Intermediation,Financial Crisis Management&Restructuring,Economic Theory&Research,Insurance&Risk Mitigation
