microbiológico, dentro de la industria alimenticia en Guatemala, que cumpla con los parámetros
de buenas prácticas de manufactura (BPM) y sirva de soporte para la certificación FSSC 22000.
Contar con un laboratorio microbiológico propio no solo asegurar la calidad e inocuidad de los
productos, sino que también fortalece su competitividad en el mercado. La certificación FSSC
22000 es clave para garantizar que los productos alimenticios sean seguros para el consumo y
cumplan con los estándares globales, especialmente importante en un contexto donde la industria
alimentaria está cada vez más regulada y los consumidores demandan mayor seguridad en los
productos que consumen.
El análisis financiero muestra que la implementación del laboratorio es económicamente
viable, proyectando una tasa interna de retorno (TIR) del 12% y una recuperación de la inversión
inicial en el quinto año. La instalación del laboratorio permitirá a la empresa generar ahorros
anuales de aproximadamente Q165,354.31, eliminando la necesidad de tercerizar pruebas
microbiológicas. Además de los beneficios financieros, contar con un laboratorio propio
proporciona mayor control sobre los tiempos de respuesta, lo que es esencial para identificar y
corregir posibles problemas en la producción de alimentos de manera rápida y eficiente.
La selección de equipos y servicios esenciales fue un factor clave en la propuesta, ya que se
priorizaron aquellos con mejor relación precio-calidad, facilidad de traslado y durabilidad.
También se incluye un manual técnico que asegura que los procedimientos dentro del laboratorio
sean seguidos de manera consistente y que se mantengan los estándares de calidad requeridos,
minimizando errores y facilitando la capacitación del personal.
En conclusión, la implementación de este laboratorio microbiológico no solo es
económicamente viable, sino que ofrece importantes beneficios operativos y estratégicos. Se
sugiere continuar con el mantenimiento regular de los equipos y la actualización de los
procedimientos técnicos del manual, así como seguir capacitando al personal en las normas de
seguridad y calidad, para asegurar que el laboratorio opere de manera óptima y mantenga los
estándares de la certificación FSSC 22000 a largo plazo.This study was carried out in order to propose the implementation of a microbiological
laboratory, within the food industry in Guatemala, that complies with the parameters of good
manufacturing practices (GMP) and serves as support for the FSSC 22000 certification. Having
your own microbiological laboratory not only ensures the quality and safety of the products but
also strengthens your competitiveness in the market. FSSC 22000 certification is key to ensuring
that food products are safe for consumption and comply with global standards, especially
important in a context where the food industry is increasingly regulated, and consumers demand
greater safety in the products they consume.
The financial analysis shows that the implementation of the laboratory is economically viable,
projecting an internal rate of return (IRR) of 12% and a recovery of the initial investment in the
fifth year. The installation of the laboratory will allow the company to generate annual savings of
approximately Q165,354.31, eliminating the need to outsource microbiological tests. In addition
to the financial benefits, having your own laboratory provides greater control over response times,
which is essential to identify and correct potential problems in food production quickly and
efficiently.
The selection of essential equipment and services was a key factor in the proposal, as those
with the best price-quality ratio, ease of transport and durability were prioritized. A technical
manual is also included that ensures that procedures within the laboratory are followed consistently
and that the required quality standards are maintained, minimizing errors and facilitating staff
training.
In conclusion, the implementation of this microbiological laboratory is not only economically
viable but also offers important operational and strategic benefits. It is suggested to continue with
regular maintenance of the equipment and the updating of the technical procedures of the manual,
as well as to continue training the personnel in safety and quality standards, to ensure that the
laboratory operates optimally and maintains the standards of the FSSC 22000 certification in the

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
