Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

In particolare, il contributo si pone due obiettivi: rintracciare possibili interferenze del sistema interpuntivo russo nella gestione della punteggiatura italiana e individuare gli usi interpuntivi italiani maggiormente impiegati dagli apprendenti russofoni. L’indagine, condotta online, si è basata su un corpus di cinque attività didattiche svolte
impiegando la strategia dell’approccio cooperativo, al fine di affidare agli studenti un ruolo essenziale nella co-costruzione delle proprie conoscenze. Dopo aver presentato obiettivi, metodologia e strumenti di rilevazione,

Un giorno, quattro stregoni malvagi rubano a Petja e ai suoi compagni il “tempo perso” da loro accumulato e lo sfruttano a proprio vantaggio. Così gli stregoni tornano bambini, mentre Petja e i suoi compagni invecchiano di colpo senza rendersene conto. "Chi perde tempo inutilmente non si accorge di invecchiare", questo il refrain del racconto che vede i protagonisti impegnati in una vera e propria corsa contro il tempo per riappropriarsi della giovane età
A Voice from the Taiga: Yuri Vella and the ecopoetics of resistance
No full textThis article explores the life and poetic production of Yuri Vella (1948–2013), Forest Nenets poet, reindeer herder, and activist. Emerging from a community deeply affected by Soviet assimilation and the ecological devastation caused by oil exploitation in Western Siberia, Vella’s writings constitute both a literary expression and political act of resistance. Drawing on Scott Bryson’s definition of ecopoetry and through close readings of selected works, the paper identifies three defining attributes in Vella’s texts: devotion to the land and its creatures, humility in human–nonhuman relations, and skepticism toward hyperrationality and technological excess. Vella’s ecopoetry is thus multidimensional: lyrical in its devotion to the taiga, testimonial in its documentation of environmental destruction by the oil industry LUKoil, and militant in its call for ethical responsibility. By personifying landscapes and reindeer, evoking ancestral knowledge, and contrasting the millennial rhythms of nature with the “temporary” values of modernity, his work transforms poetry into a space of ethical reflection and cultural survival. Ultimately, Vella’s voice transcends the boundaries of the Forest Nenets community, offering a universal warning about ecological catastrophe and affirming the necessity of safeguarding both indigenous cultures and the natural world they protect
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textIl protagonista del racconto è Yug, un ragazzo adolescente vissuto in epoca preistorica, che perde la famiglia in seguito a un'inondazione e si trova solo nella giungla ad affrontare svariate difficoltà. Il coraggio, la forza e lo spirito di avventura che contraddistinguono il giovane efebo in questa continua lotta per la sopravvivenza sembrano ereditati dal suo stesso autore, che pure aveva fatto della sua vita una grande avventura. A suggellare il forte legame tra autore e protagonista è la scelta di battezzare l'eroe con il nome Yug, palindromo di Guy, da cui deriva il titolo dell'opera. Il racconto è un vero e proprio poema epico, una canzone di gesta in cui il giovane deve dare continuamente prova di coraggio, immaginazione e creatività per soddisfare i propri fabbisogni vitali e la sua sete di scoperta

L'articolo presenta la storia e l'attribuzione di tre dipinti: "L'Annunciazione" di Ippolito Scarsellino, "Venere e Amore" di Pietro Liberi e "La morte di Cleopatra" di Daniel Seiter. La pala d'altare di Scarsellino proviene dall'Oratorio della Scala a Ferrara, a lungo ritenuto perduto, come la "Circoncisione" di Ludovico Carracci: i due dipinti hanno condiviso infatti un destino comune. Tutti questi dipinti sono stati acquisiti durante le fasi iniziali della formazione della Galleria di dipinti dell'Ermitage, tra il 1764 e il 1781, durante il regno di Caterina II
