We have developed relative angle determinable stitching interferometry for the surface figuring of elliptical mirrors, in order to realize hard x-ray nanofocusing. In a stitching system, stitching angles are determined not by the general method using a common area between neighboring shots, but by the new method using the mirror's tilt angles measured at times when profile data are acquired. The high measurement accuracy of approximately 4 nm (peak-to-valley) was achieved in the measurement of a cylindrical surface having the same curvature as the elliptically designed shape to enable hard x-ray nanofocusing. © 2005 American Institute of Physics
Overview of the 2019 open-source IR replicability challenge (OSIRRC 2019)
The Open-Source IR Replicability Challenge (OSIRRC 2019), organized as a workshop at SIGIR 2019, aims to improve the replicability of ad hoc retrieval experiments in information retrieval by gathering a community of researchers to jointly develop a common Docker specification and build Docker images that encapsulate a diversity of systems and retrieval models. We articulate the goals of this workshop and describe the "jig" that encodes the Docker specification. In total, 13 teams from around the world submitted 17 images, most of which were designed to produce retrieval runs for the TREC 2004 Robust Track test collection. This exercise demonstrates the feasibility of orchestrating large, community-based replication experiments with Docker technology. We envision OSIRRC becoming an ongoing community-wide effort to ensure experimental replicability and sustained progress on standard test collections.Web Information System

The designed elliptically curved shape was fabricated by a computer-controlled fabrication system using plasma chemical vaporization machining and elastic emission machining, on the basis of surface profiles accurately measured by combining microstitching interferometry with relative angle determinable stitching interferometry. A platinum-coated surface was employed for hard x-ray focusing with a large numerical aperture. Line-focusing tests on the fabricated elliptical mirror are carried out at the 1-km -long beamline of SPring-8. A full width at half maximum of 40 nm was achieved in the focused beam intensity profile under the best focus conditions. © 2005 American Institute of Physics
Amino acid sequence comparison among endo-1,4-β-glucanases from soybean and other plant species.
<p>The predicted amino acid sequences of <i>qHS1</i> and its homoeologous copy Glyma14g05200 were compared with predicted endo-1,4-β-glucanases of <i>Lotus japonicus</i> (AK339581), <i>Medicago truncatula</i> (Medtr5g093090 and Medtr3g110130), and <i>Arabidopsis thaliana</i> (At2g32990; AtGH9B8). The catalytic residues and amino acids involved in substrate binding of previously characterized glycoside hydrolase family 9 enzymes, OsCel9A, rice (<i>Oryza sativa</i> L.) endo-1,4-β-glucanase (Uniprot Q0JPJ1) and TfCel9A, <i>Thermobifida fusca</i> endo/exo-1,4-β-glucanase, are labeled with “Cat” and subsite numbers (+2 to -4), respectively. Arrow, substitution from isoleucine in Tachinagaha (<i>qHS1</i>-SS) to serine in TA-HS (<i>qHS1</i>-HS).</p

Cumulative errors of the stitching angle in a long spatial wavelength range were effectively reduced to be 1×10−7 rad levels using another interferometer having a large cross section in the optical cavity. Some optical performances of ultraprecise x-ray mirrors, such as submicrofocused beam profile, were wave optically calculated from the measured surface figure profiles and observed at the 1 km long beamline (BL29XUL) of SPring-8. Observed and wave optically calculated results were in good agreement with a high degree of accuracy
