STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY DETECTION OF HISTORICAL STRUCTURES BY DYNAMIC DIGITAL IMAGE CORRELATION

    No full text
The technique, known as Digital Image Correlation (DIC), allows to measure the displacement field on the surface of the object, that in our case are the brick of the masonry structure. The recent development of the DIC is due also to the performance improvement of cameras for image acquisition, in terms of resolution and acquisition speed. This open up new measurement possibilities. In this work the measurement technique is developed and demonstrated using a scale model of a bridge, exited dynamically by a small shaker, in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the monitoring of real structures by using their in service vibration or using low level vibration exciters. Other tests has been performed in portions of brick walls in a compression testing machine, while a classical compression testing up to failure take places

Emerging horizons on molecular and circulating biomarkers in pancreatic adenocarcinoma

    No full text
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the most aggressive and invasive type of pancreatic cancer and is expected to soon become the second leading cause of cancer-associated death. The high mortality rate is due to the clinical features that allow asymptomatic progression to advanced stages, a period when current therapeutic treatments have limited efficacy. To address these challenges, researchers are focused on identifying new molecular and circulating markers for early PDAC detection and precision medicine. In this mini-review, we report the most well-known and recently identified molecular and circulating biomarkers. This study aimed to emphasize the need for continued innovative research to develop diagnostic algorithms and therapies to improve the management of patients with PDAC

The role of Centers for Children and Families in the Integrated System of Education and Instruction : reflecting on the accessibility of integrative services in Modena

This paper aims to illustrate the theoretical framework and the first data of a research path carried out with educators, pedagogical coordinators and educational manager of the Centers for Children and Families of the Municipality of Modena. In particular, it intends to investigate the role of these services within the Integrated System of Education and Instruction (L. 107/2015 and Dlgs. 65/2017), which emphasizes how integrative services (so called centers for children and families, play spaces and educational services in a home setting) can offer diversified opportunities for care and support, alongside the traditional nursery. The ultimate goal, envisioned by legislation and supported by reference studies, is to respond more comprehensively to new parental needs and promote the growth of children, who would be benefited by inclusive services: centers for children and families are referred to as an opportunity to bring families who do not attend daycare closer together and to attract the most vulnerable households, who often remain on the margins of educational and socialization offerings (Pedagogical Lines, 2021). The ongoing research-education investigates the accessibility of four Centers, with the aim of reflecting on their organization and identifying in a shared way possible changes to make the offer on the territory of the Municipality of Modena more readable and inclusive. An initial analysis of the data collected in the early stages of the research is presented in the paper, focusing on reconceptualizing the mission of the services themselves and identifying priority users (children and/or parents)

Based Early Start Denver Model is an Evidence-Based Practice that offers educational opportunities for the Italian educational context to promote inclusion. This method promotes the interactions between the child with autism, the teacher and the peers through by exploiting “natural situations” of daily routines, curricular and play activities. The adoption of this approach interested only few full-inclusive American schools. Moreover, no studies have been conducted yet to quantitatively and qualitatively investigate the fallout of this approach on social interactions between the child with autism and peers within the inclusive school context, until today. After the application of a Memorandum of Understanding, the present work aims at investigating the inclusive potential of this Evidence Based Practice in an American inclusive school, and to reflect on pedagogical and didactic suggestions

The aim of the phd research presented in this article is to perform a multistage adaptive test (MST) for the measurement of the mathematical skills of the students of grade 10. The test model to be implemented is illustrated and compared with both linear test and classic adaptive test. Furthermore, the fundamental steps necessary for the construction and implementation of a MST test are presented, describing the analyzes carried out on the data in the various work phases and their results. It is also described a simulation of the model realized in order to study its feasibility and verify some theoretical predictions. The analyzes confirm the effectiveness of the model

After reasserting the traditional identification of the poetess Proba with Faltonia Betitia Proba (the wife of Clodius Celsinus Adelphius, PV 351), the Author examines Proba’s and Ausonius’ centos within the frame of the tradition of the literary genre they belong to. She suggests that the similarities in the use of Virgil half-verses in the two centos may be justified if we think that Ausonius, who composed his ‘cento nuptialis’ after 370, did know Proba’s work (presumably composed after 362) and hinted at it with elegance and with a slightly parodistic aim

Simonetto: Gabriellino d’Annunzio tra Moretti e Marinetti

The retrieval of a letter written by Gabriellino d’Annunzio to Marino Moretti takes the reader behind the stage of the Manzoni Theatre in Milan on 27 March 1905. It was the first staging of Gabriele d’Annunzio’s play La fiaccola sotto il moggio (The light under the bushel), and Gabriellino played Simonetto, the female lead’s brother. His interpretation received mixed reviews, mainly due to the hysterical tone he gave to the character. Numerous sources refer to that première: not only Moretti’s writings but also various contemporary chronicles, as well as Filippo Tommaso Marinetti’a volume Les dieux s’en vont, D’Annunzio reste, in which the author describes and comments the staging. The various sources testify to Gabriele d’Annunzio’s disillusionment towards his own directorial experimen
