ABSTRACTResearch was entered to trace the Bagindo Aziz Chan monument by Arby Samah trough the iconographicapproach put forward by Erwin Panofsky, as well as to uncover the reason for the contruction of themonument. The research uses qualitative methods of observation interviews and document. The figure Arby Samah described in the “Bagindo Aziz Chan Monument” is indeed a Bagindo figure, which was made using cement plaster technique, making the work began in 1973 by Arby Samah. Reliefsmade in the foundation of the statue tells the sequence of event killed Bagindo Aziz Chan. The use ofthe realist style found by the author on the Bagindo Aziz Chan monument although the cultivation ofthe statue still looks tough, but the delivery of the sign on the statue is the hope and ideals of BagindoAziz Chan during his leadership as mayor of Padang is clearly depicted. The making of the statue uses acement plaster which is a technique commonly technique. Used by sculpture artists in the 1970s. In 2005Bagindo Aziz Chan was awarded as a national hero from west Sumatera by the central government, andalso on July 19 the people of Padang commemorated the day of death of Bagindo Aziz Chan which was atribute to the leader of Padang. And also the name Bagindo Aziz Chan has been enshrined as the name ofa street and a building in the city of Padang.

Effect of the various types of reinforcement particles on the mechanical and physical properties of pure copper and copper-nickel alloy

    No full text
This thesis studies the physical and mechanical properties of pure copper powder and Copper-Nickel Alloy with various reinforcement materials at different volume fraction. . The used reinforcements materials are multi wall carbon nanotubes CNT (0.5-2 wt. %) as nano particles, aluminium oxide (Al2O3) (1-4 wt. %) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) (1-4 wt. %) as micro particles. Many of testes are applied on the obtained specimens such as microstructures, density, relative density, electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, hardness, and compression stress tests to investigate the suitable reinforcement percentage that will achieve the best physical and mechanical properties.Faculty of engineering, cairo university mm

Role Strain and Its Influence on Organizational Citizenship Behavior among Faculty Staff

    No full text
Context: The quality of university education is highly affected by faculty staff engagement that drives them to go beyond their assigned ‎roles and job description to have Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCBs). Aim: To investigate the influence of role strain on organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) among nursing faculty staff. Methods: This analytic cross-sectional study was carried out at the Faculty of Nursing at Ain Shams University on a convenience sample of 89 faculty members. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire with OCBs and role strain scales. Results: Participants' age ranged from 25 and 53 years. 83.1% had high citizenship behaviors, and 68.5% had high role strain. The citizenship behavior and role strain scores were positively and significantly correlated (r=0.253). The multivariate analysis identified role strain score as a positive predictor of OCB score. Conclusion: The nursing faculty staff in the study setting have high scores in OCBs and fewer scores in role strain. Their role strain positively predicts their OCBs. It is recommended to carry out a similar study with a prospective follow-up design. The roles of leadership style and job satisfaction in the relationship between role strain and OCBs need to be investigated. &nbsp

Biological responses of white sea bream (Diplodus sargus, Linnaeus 1758) and sardine (Sardine pilchardus, Walbaum 1792) exposed to heavy metal contaminated water

The aim of the present work was to assess, by rapid approach, the detoxification capacity and the genotoxicity caused by exposure of some marine fish to polluted waters. The fish species selected for the study: White sea bream (Diplodus sargus, Linnaeus 1758) and sardine (Sardine pilchardus, Walbaum 1792) were collected from different sites of Alexandria, El-Max bay and Bahary, in Egypt. Results of heavy metals analysis in sediment were: Al>Fe>Cr>Pb>Hg>Cd. Concerning detoxification analysis, fish collected from El-Max bay encounter the highest liver enzyme activity of Glutathione S-Transferase. Also, genotoxicity was evaluated in liver, gills and muscle of fishes collected and the results indicated that fish collected from El-Max bay has the highest levels of comets (DNA damage) when compared to the other sites selected as reference. It can be concluded from our results that the different tissues examined have alteration of level of detossification and comets as result of different degree of oxidative pollution insult. These biological responses may be considered for rapid extimation of food oxidative damage as well as for environmental quality
