The principal as evaluator : an application of the curriculum evaluation model of Elliot W. Eisner to a kindergarten setting
No full textThe purpose of this study was to apply the curriculum evaluation model of Elliot W. Eisner to a kindergarten setting. The writer, as principal and evaluator of the setting, based her investigation on Eisner's belief that evaluation needs to be grounded in a view of how persons create meaning from their experiences. Dale L. Brubaker's definition of curriculum, what each person experiences as learning settings are cooperatively created, was utilized in the study. The study included description, interpretation and assessment of the pervasive qualities of the curriculum as currently experienced by the setting's participants. The themes of control, understanding and liberation, identified by James B. Macdonald as basic value positions, recurred in the participants' expressions of the meaning of their shared experiences. The use of participant observation, interviews, review of documentary sources and ethnography, methodology consistent with field research, enabled the writer to define the parts that communicated a holistic meaning

Die Herren P. Capdeville und P. C. Rougeot haben in den letzten Jahren die verschiedenen Flugplätze von Parnassius apollo L. in Spanien aufgesucht und eine Anzahl neuer Unterarten aufgestellt. Die Kenntnis wird ergänzt durch die Beschreibung von drei weiteren apollo L. subspecies durch Dr.
Miguel-R. Gomez Bustillo und Dr. Fidel Fernandez Rubio in Publication No. 20, Sociedad De Ciencias Naturales Aranzadi, San Sebastian, 1971: aizpuruae ex Montanas de San Cristobal, Provincia de Alava. pozazalensis ex Puerto de Pozazal, Santander. odriozolae ex Monte Aitzgorri, Collado de Peru-Saroy, Urbia.
Die Holo- und Allotypen sind abgebildet (ibidem, fig. 20, 21, 23). Ob einige dieser Unterarten — das gilt auch für die von Capdeville und Rougeot beschriebenen — subspecies bonae sind oder nur auf Grund der geographischen Lage als solche abgetrennt werden können, wird das Studium systematisch gesammelter Serien erweisen müssen. 2. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
