This paper focuses on a new witness of the In nativitatem et praesentationem Deiparae, a pamphlet written by Nikephoros Gregoras. The work, now preserved in the manuscript Venezia, Biblioteca Marciana, gr. Z. 142, was copied by some collaborators of the author and was reviewed by him. Thanks to this discovery, a new analysis of the manuscript tradition of the pamphlet was carried out, a tradition that consists of four other manuscripts, A (Città del Vaticano, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Vat. gr. 1086), B (Città del Vaticano, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Vat. gr. 1085), J (Jerusalem, Patriarchichē Bibliothēkē, Monē Abraham, 51) and K (Wien, Österreichischen National-Bibliothek, Hist. gr. 104). The material investigation and the collation of the text led to the reconstruction of two ‘editions’, both dating back to the author
'F- F- Felt it': Breathing Feminist, Queer and Clown Thinking into the Practice and Study of Sarah Kane’s Cleansed and Blasted
This thesis uses studio practice, scholarly research, close reading of text, performance observation and conversation with practitioners to establish diverse readings of Sarah Kane’s Cleansed. It includes original material from the 2012 productions of Cleansed in Japan (Kamome-za Fringe Theatre), and in Ireland (Bare Cheek Theatre). It notes practice on Cleansed in gallery spaces (Cast-Off Drama, UK). It offers a dramaturgical approach to workshopping the play from a feminist and queer position, informed by theories of gender and transgender, and the marginalised, loving and delinquent practice of clowning. The research discusses principles of breath, voice and sexuate difference drawing primarily on the philosophies of Luce Irigaray, on the voice practice of Cicely Berry and the clown teaching of Sue Morrison.
The work challenges the ‘in-yer-face’ theatre discourse on Kane arguing that it represents a McDonaldization of its subject matter, and an insidious trivialisation of her texts. It offers new thinking on the opening night of Blasted (1995), suggesting that the ‘furore’ was fuelled by collective male hysteria and superstition; its roots centred in mourning. Analysing Cleansed in relation to Edward Bond’s Saved and Lear, it explores tropes of ghosts, stitching and the silent scream, and argues that Kane militates for gynocentric time and becoming. It analyses the symbol of the perimeter fence as a feature of 1980s Britain, noting the strength of binary associations configured in it with reference to both English football hooliganism (male) and the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp (female). It argues that Kane sets up heteronormative binaries in Cleansed to debate and contest them.
A key conclusion of the thesis is that Cleansed politically addresses and dramatises issues of transgender experience presenting accounts of gender violence, mutability, transitioning, the sharp fractures and silences of gender dysphoria, but also, ultimately, queer desire, love and optimism
Understanding Research Trends in HyFlex (hybrid flexible) Instruction Model: A Scientometric Approach
The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic necessitated that higher education institutions go online and utilize a HyFlex instruction model. The current study used a scientometric approach to evaluate the current status of HyFlex, as well as a visual analysis of the topic. Published research from 1989-2021 was retrieved from Web of Science (WoS) and the search generated 1453 results, which were analysed by title, year of publication, authors, country, journal, and research area. The data was processed using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix R software to visualize trends for HyFlex. The research identified document types, author collaborations, annual scientific production, most relevant journals, collaboration network between authors, institutions, country, cluster coupling of authors, documents and sources, thematic evolution, and co-occurrence of all keywords. The results indicated the topic gained interest in 2008, with the highest number of articles published in 2019-2020. The top collaborator and country with the highest volume of citations and published articles was the United States. Word clusters indicated the most repetitive words were students, education, performance, and knowledge. The visualization of data offers information on trends on the body of research as well as providing researchers an understanding of the topic

The vacillating racialist: Nina Rodrigues under your light studies on crowds, religiosity and anthropology (1880-1906)
This thesis focuses on scientific papers written by Nina Rodrigues, many of whom ignored or 'forgotten' by the Academy throughout the twentieth century. Southern oscillation and its effect on tornadic activity in the United States
Published as an Atmospheric Science Paper March 31, 2005 and November 5, 1993 on title page. The Southern Oscillation has been shown in previous research to cause changes in the weather patterns over the continental United States. These changes, caused by either the warm El Nino or cold La Nina, could potentially effect numbers, locations, and strengths of tornadoes in the United States. Using a variation of the Southern Oscillation Index, the seven strongest El Nino and five strongest La Nina events during the period 1953-1989 were examined to see what effect, if any, that they would have on: 1) Total tornado numbers, 2) Violent tornado track length, 3) Violent tornado numbers, and 4) ?:40 tornado outbreaks. Little difference was found in total tornado numbers between El Nino and La Nina events. However, significant differences were found in the number of violent tornadoes, and in large number tornado outbreaks. La Nina event years were found to have longer than average track lengths, more violent tornadoes, and a good probability of having an outbreak of 40 or more tornadoes. El Nino event years were found to have shorter than average track lengths, less violent tornadoes, and only a slim possibility of having an outbreak. Possible reasons for the above conclusions include: 1) Warmer than normal temperatures in the western U.S./Canada along with cooler than normal temperatures in the southern U.S. during El Nino years; and 2) Colder than normal temperatures in the west ern U.S./Canada along with warmer than normal temperatures in the southern U.S. during La Nina years. This would act to weaken/strengthen the interactions between warm and cold air in the midwest U.S. during El Nino/La Nina event years and decrease/increase the numbers and lengths of violent tornadoes.Sponsored by the National Science Foundation grant number ATM-9017849
Autobiographical Displacements : The Elusive Subject and the Figure of the Author in Gertrude Stein's The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas and Theresa Hak Kyung Cha's Dictee
This thesis explores conceptions of authorship and the representation of the author-figure in Gertrude Stein's The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas (1933) and Theresa Hak Kyung Cha's Dictee (1982). It focuses on the structural complexity of these textual self-figurations that, in distinct yet arguably related ways, fuse fact and fiction and signify the self through the trope of autobiographical displacement. The close-readings aim to uncover how these experimentations with form both allow a certain degree of self-exposure and simultaneously divert attention from the author-figure characteristic of traditional depictions of the writing self. My argument is that these texts engage with canonized autobiography, and that Stein and Cha’s generic subversions in effect problematize the underlying mechanisms of normative autobiographical narration. The contextualized juxtaposition further illustrates certain instrumental theoretical developments within the field of life-writing in general and feminist contributions to autobiography theory in particular

The narrative strategies of the prose by Nina Bichuia

The thesis presents a comprehensive analysis of the prose by Nina Bichuіa
from the standpoint of its narrative structure. The research defines the individual
narrative strategies as an evidence of the author’s originality and experimentation in
the context of Ukrainian literary and artistic coordinates of 60s – 80s of the twentieth
century. While the literature of that time is marked by party dogmas and static
narrative tactics; the innovative type of N. Bichuia’s writing is characterized by
psychological insight, intellectual tension, elegance and aesthetics, swiftness of
author imagination. Realistic image becomes a signature of the author’s writing.
The thesis gives theoretical and methodological review of the basic narrative
concepts and typologies in propinquity to the text; finds the place of Nina Bichuia’s
prose in a literary discourse. It also determines the primary and secondary narrative
types in the epic texts; characterizes an artistic narrative of history in Bichuia's
interpretation; discovers the textual forms of organization of the prose that are
explicitly used by the author. The research analyses the chronotope as a means of
narrative modeling; differentiates Bichuia’s narrative strategies of the narrative
manner.
The writer’s narrative tactics of prose was comprehended through a complex
configuration of mixed and variable narration, binary conceptual types,
communicative triad of «narrator – author – narratаtor».
The object of the research is the prose by Nina Bichuia that was written and
published during 1960s –1980s and republished in 1990s – 2010s. The analysis
resulted in introduction to narrative instruments of the concepts of mixed and
variable narration, a bifurcated narrator, and to the individual and stylistic features
of writing the concepts of fragmentation, synchronicity, declarativity, plot
compactedness, text unevenness, autocomment.
The narrative manner of Nina Bichuia’s prose was presented by mixed and
variable narrative types that evolved from a third person narration in the early works
with school, teenager and philosophical theme to a combination of homodiegetic and
heterodiegetic narrator. In the process of the story sometimes appears an extradiegetic
narrative strategy, the image of a bifurcated narrator in the historical, humanistic and
philosophical works. The most original narrative strategies are shown in small prose
genres, in which Nina Bichuia uses mixing and blending of different narrative levels
in short event-indicative lines.
Homodiegetic narrator dominates in the author’s prose, he occupies the
position of internal or external focalization on the depicted from the point of view of
the first person. Usually it is a woman-narrator, self-absorbed, closed from the outer
world, internally focused on other characters that appear in the works. The prevalence
of the homodiegetic narrative in Bichuia’s works explains the large number of unsaid
fragments, internal monologues, dialogues with inner «I», thereby forming a closed Inarrator
psychological type.
Among the textual forms of narrative organization of the studied texts the
analysis singles out the following: a) intertextuality, which reveals explicit and
implicit methods of introducing «borrowed» words into the text; b) a narrative of
colors as an important means of transmitting visual art information that stands as an
indicator of emotional and psychological climate in the works; c) descriptiveness,
that is characterized by superficial, «external» illustration of events and characters,
plot elements in which are placed after each other; d) detailazation, that demonstrates
an accurate reproduction of the depicted with the help of artistic details (portrait,
landscape, interior, symbol, etc).; e) assembling, by which the narrator rapidly
changes events in the work. Nina Bichuia’s individual narrator strategies are
fragmentation, synchronicity, declarativity, plot compactedness, text unevenness,
autocomment
