Optimal Process Parameters Setting on Shrinkage of an Injection Molded Part using Design of Experiment Method
No full textPlastic injection molding is an important process to produce thin-shell plastic parts. However, the difficulty in adjusting optimum process parameters setting may cause defects of the injected molded parts such as shrinkage. In this study the author wants to investigate the process parameters which will affect the shrinkage defect on a plastic cell phone shell component. The machine process setting in use currently caused shrinkage where variations in the dimensions of the length and width below the specification limit. Therefore the experiment is needed to identify the optimal process parameters that could be set to maintain the length and width dimensions closest to the target value with smallest possible variation. The process parameters selected in this study are the mould[u1] temperature, injection pressure and screw rotation speed. The Design of Experimental (DOE) approach was used to investigate and identify the optimal moulding process parameters. The significant factors affecting the length and width of the cell phone shell were identified from ANOVA. Statistical results and analysis are used to provide better interpretation of the experiment. Confirmation run with the optimal process parameter setting found by DOE method determined that the shrinkage can be eliminate during mass production

Conference papers of Barc Scientists and engineers : a citation based study
Get PDFThis paper highlights the importance of conference papers in the scientific communication process. Carried out a citation analysis of 474 (8.52%) conference papers of BARC Scientists and Engineers published during 1999-2007 as per Scopus database. The highest number of papers (117) were published in 2004 and these papers have received the highest (183) number of citations. The average number of papers published per year was 52.66 and the average number of citations per paper was 1.81. Identified highly cited authors and highly cited conference papers. Concludes that conference literature has to be integrated with the databases so as to avoid the missing link in the knowledge development process

Novel resistorless dual-output VM all-pass filter employing VDIBA
No full textMinaei, Shahram (Dogus Author) -- Conference full title: 2011 7th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO 2011): Bursa, Turkey, 1 - 4 December 2011In this paper, a new active element called voltage differencing inverting buffered amplifier (VDIBA) is presented. Using single VDIBA and capacitor a new resistorless voltage-mode first-order all-pass filter is proposed, which provides both inverting and non-inverting outputs at the same configuration simultaneously. The pole frequency of the filter can be easily controlled by means of internal transconductance. No component-matching conditions are required and it has low sensitivity. The theoretical results are verified by SPICE simulations using commercially available integrated circuit models
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
