The essays provide an important insight into the man,his work and his valuable contributions to theatre and literature in Africa.
Femi Osofisan has taught, directed and had his plays performed in several countries including Australia, Canada, Germany, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Jamaica, Lesotho, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom and the USA. Author of more than fifty plays, two books for junior readers, four works of fiction, four collections of poetry anf four volumes of essays, Osofisan also has popular columns in a number of Nigerian newspapers. Currently the President of the Nigerian Centre of International PEN and a Patron of the Pan-African Writers' Association, he has been the President of the Association of Nigerian Authors. Osofisan is currently a Professor of Drama at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

Sikucur Barat produces many coconuts and is supposed to become a chance for the women to have side income and women who belong to PKK’s group. In fact the family can’t rely on their life from coconut since the price is getting low only Rp.1.000. It makes the people let the coconut fall down on the ground without collecting them. This condition happens because they are unable to cover the transportation fee if sold to other cities such as Padang or Pekanbaru. Besides, the people don’t have knowledge on how to process the coconut becomes the highest quality product such as Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). Based on this problem, we try to do PKM (Service for Society) by giving training how to make right VCO, branding it, and Depkes (Health Department) permit for PKK’s women in Sikucur Barat village. Thus, we hope it can become a new entrepreneur to support their income and increase the knowledge and the skills of the society of PKK’s group in Sikucur Barat village. We spread the questionnaires and got the result that about 89,4% of the society’s income increase

Get PDFKemampuan berbicara Bahasa Inggris mahasiswa kebidanan perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa kebidanan Universitas Mercubaktijaya melalui teknik bermain peran pada aspek kelancaran dan pelafalan. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dengan dua siklus dan jumlah mahasiswa 31 orang. Desain penelitian terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan observasi dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknik bermain peran dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa pada aspek kelancaran dan pelafalan. Pada pre-test, post-test 1 dan post-test 2 diperoleh kelancaran 1,81, 2,25, 3,16 dan pada pelafalan masing-masing 1,74, 2,22, 3,13. Terjadi peningkatan pada kedua siklus yaitu pada kelancaran 1,35 dan pada pelafalan 1,39. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa penerapan teknik bermain peran dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa kebidanan pada aspek kelancaran dan pelafalan

which will directly affect the development of the hotel itself. This can be achieved
only through the efforts of all elements of the hotel which are divided into several
departments. The front office department, especially, should have good
cooperation among its staffs because the front office has most direct contact with
the guests. The receptionist as a part of the front office department has a large
responsibility as a representative of the hotel which should create a good image.
This paper sets out to describe the job scope of a receptionist at
Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel, Surakarta based on the job training undergone by the
author. The receptionist plays important role in handling the guests’ needs. To
give the best service, a receptionist must have good knowledge about all sectors in
the hotel and also the information external to the hotel related to the guests’ needs.
It is also supported by good and professional grooming based on appropriate hotel
standards.
From the data, one conclusion that can be drawn from this study is
that the job description of a receptionist in Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel includes
various aspects. The receptionists of Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel have a large
responsibility to know the job scope and do it to the best of their ability in order to
build an attractive image of the hotel

Users are restricted to cooking when, and where, the sun is shining. Furthermore, the cooking temperature can not readily be raised or lowered as desired. In contrast, the Wilson solar cooker is designed to permit use under conditions characterized by low or no insulation. Furthermore, the design would facilitate users adjusting temperatures. These temperatures would reach levels as high as 258° C. In order to validate the concept, construction of one prototype was initiated. Lithium nitrate, the heat-storage material, was shown to meet the stated requirements of storing heat at a constant temperature of 258° C for up to six hours. Furthermore, this heat-storage material stored heat at temperatures above the boiling point of water, for up to 25 hours. Thus, it is expected that a meal for six people can be prepared up to six hours after charging of the thermal battery.by P. Femi Akinwale.S.M

From 30 families in RT 001/RW 013 Pasie Nan Tigo 70% of the society still have well water containing turbid, sands, and unpleasant odors. They don’t consume well water for drinking but for washing only. To fulfill their daily drinks, they must buy gallon water. Based on this problem, we offer the solution to help them to improve water sources by applying PKM (service for society) to make the procurement of clean water. Therefore, we gave them soft skill training by giving knowledge about the materials of natural and artificial purifying and hard skill training by giving the practical training about how to make the water purifying equipments. The activity focuses on the society of RT 001/RW 013 who have turbid water in their house by distributing the questionnaires before and after activity was done. The questionnaires are mostly about the society’s knowledge of water purification. There is an increasing to the society’s knowledge and skills on how to make simply water purification. The quality was increased since no turbid, no sands, and no unpleasant odors anymore after purification
