Impacto del software libre en la Universidad Tecnológica de la Mixteca
En el 2017 hablar del uso del software libre es cada vez más común a nivel mundial y México no está exento, desde las pequeñas hasta las grandes empresas viven esta necesidad imperante, el dinamismo y eficiencia en un proceso globalizado responden a una exigencia mayor de los merca- dos, y como era de esperarse este tema impacta también a las universidades del país incluyendo a las ubicadas en el estado de Oaxaca, este trabajo es de tipo correlacional cuantitativo e identifica al (sujeto - objeto de estudio), y el impacto en la situación económica, los gastos que implican el uso de software propietario es bastante alto, y se busca como objetivo minimizarlo. A través de la SEP y otros fondos extraordinarios la Universidad Tecnológica de la Mixteca recibe recursos económi- cos por ejemplo de programas como (PIFI, PROFOCIE, PFCE y PRODEP) en dichos fondos se han obtenido recursos por más de $500,000.00 para la adquisición de licencias de software; los montos recibidos han beneficiado a la comunidad universitaria, alumnos, profesores y personal administrativo, sin embargo, si se hubiera utilizado software libre, el recurso antes mencionado pudo haber formado parte de una planeación para el fortalecimiento de la UTM, adquiriendo equipamiento de cómputo, impactando positivamente en las funciones sustantivas a realizar por académicos y en las funciones y tareas del personal administrativo. El presente trabajo muestra un análisis del impacto que ha tenido el software libre en los últimos siete años dentro de nuestra Universidad y cómo afecta también a la formación integral de los estudiantes
Paralelización de un algoritmo genético para el problema del agente viajero
En el presente trabajo se muestra el uso de software para la implementación secuencial, paralela y distribuida de un algoritmo genético para tratar el problema del agente viajero. La implementación está hecha usando software libre. Como resultados se muestra el uso de diferentes operadores genéticos y la generación de archivos de trazas para monitorear gráficamente la ejecución del algoritmo
Herramientas usadas en el desarrollo de un sistema de localización en interiores
Durante los últimos años, los sistemas de posicionamiento y navegación en interiores han sido objeto de intenso estudio. Ninguna de las soluciones propuestas de localización en interiores ha sido tan exitosa como los sistemas al aire libre: Global Position System (GPS). En este trabajo se presentan las herramientas de software libre usadas para el desarrollo de una propuesta de localización en interiores que se llevó a cabo: el diseño e implementación en dispositivos móviles de un sistema de posicionamiento y navegación 3D para interiores basado en el uso de la tecnología WiFi e implementado con Android. Esta implementación es adaptable a cualquier entorno interior (como son: centros comerciales, oficinas, museos, etc.) previamente modelados y cargados, los cuales se han desarrollado con Blender

Renin gene haplotype diversity and linkage disequilibrium in two Mexican and one German population samples
Introduction. Renin is the main rate-limiting enzyme in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Its gene, REN, is a candidate crucial factor in essential hypertension and cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate allele and haplotype distributions of REN polymorphisms, and to estimate normalised linkage disequilibrium (D') in Mexican and German populations. Materials and methods. Four groups were studied for the REN single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) 1205C>T, 1303G>A, and 10607G>A, in population samples of Mexican Mestizo (n = 86), Mexican Huichol (n = 49), German (n = 39), and individuals with hypertension diagnosis (n = 66). Polymorphisms were detected by PCR-RFLP. Genotype, allele and haplotype frequencies were estimated. Results. SNP 1205C>T and 10607G>A allele and genotype distribution showed inter-group differences. The 1205T and 10607A allele showed a significance difference in hypertensive population. Haplotype analysis also showed some inter-group differences, especially in 1205C-1303G-10607G, 1205C-1303G-10607A and 1205T-1303G-10607G haplotypes. The segregation analysis disclosed complete linkage disequilibrium between 1205 and 1303 loci. Conclusion. These results provide an example of genetic diversity in related populations and illustrate the convenience of increasing the number of loci in associative studies between diseases and candidate genes. © 2010 The Author(s)

Managing social risks through transitional labour markets
The network addressed the basic transformation of our European social and economic systems caused by globalisation, modernisation, individualisation or the shift towards the knowledge-based society. The change in the nature of social risks was one of the focal points of the project. The decline of old risks, inherent to an industrial society, and the advent of new social risks, such as life course risks or intergenerational risks, were common points of departure for the European research network. Results of the network deal with labour market processes and policy implementation. -- Das Netzwerk thematisierte die grundlegende Transformation unserer Europäischen Wirtschafts- und Sozialsysteme, die durch Globalisierung, Modernisierung, Individualisierung oder die Entwicklung zur wissensbasierten Gesellschaft verursacht werden. Das europäische Forschungsprojekt untersuchte die Veränderung in der Art der sozialen Risiken, die mehr und mehr weg von alten Risiken, die inhärenter Bestandteil der Industriegesellschaften waren, hin zu neuen sozialen Risiken, wie z.B. Lebensverlaufsrisiken oder intergenerationale Risiken. Die Ergebnisse des Netzwerks handeln von Verbesserungen von Arbeitsmarktprozessen sowie Politikimplementation.
Salivary gland diseases in children
Salivary gland diseases in children are rare, apart from viral-induced diseases. Nevertheless, it is essential for the otolaryngologist to recognize these uncommon findings in children and adolescents and to diagnose and initiate the proper treatment.The present work provides an overview of the entire spectrum of congenital and acquired diseases of the salivary glands in childhood and adolescence. The current literature was reviewed and the results discussed and summarized.Besides congenital diseases of the salivary glands in children, the main etiologies of viral and bacterial infections, autoimmune diseases and tumors of the salivary glands were considered. In addition to the known facts, new developments in diagnostics, imaging and therapy, including sialendoscopy in obstructive diseases and chronic recurrent juvenile sialadenitis were taken into account. In addition, systemic causes of salivary gland swelling and the treatment of sialorrhoea were discussed. Although salivary gland diseases in children are usually included in the pathology of the adult, they differ in their incidence and sometimes in their symptoms. Clinical diagnostics and especially the surgical treatment are influenced by a stringent indications and a less invasive strategy. Due to the rarity of tumors of the salivary glands in children, it is recommended to treat them in a specialized center with greater surgical experience.Altogether the knowledge of the differential diagnoses in salivary gland diseases in children is important for otolaryngologists, to indicate the proper therapeutic approach
The fellowship of St.Diogo : new Christian judaisers in Coimbra in the early 17th century
Dr Antonio Homem was a respected teacher in the University of Coimbra, a Canon in the Cathedral and an illustrious scholar. He was also the heir of a long Jewish family tradition. His great-great-grand father lived and died as a Jew. His great-grandfather, his grandmother and two of his uncles were among his relatives to have been sentenced
as judaisers by the Inquisition. His own father kept the Law of Moses, and taught it to all his children, without the knowledge of his wife, an Old Christian of noble lineage.
His concern for the situation of the New Christians in Portugal eventually made him build up a congregation of judaisers, which he called the Fellowship of St Diogo as a tribute to a Capuchin friar who had been executed a few years earlier as an apostate and defender of the Jewish Law. His congregation grew to include over sixty people,
including clerics, physicians, lawyers and students, as well as merchants and farmers. Its leader gave it a corpus of doctrine and eventually a distinctive liturgy, which showed influence from the Catholic Church. The Fellowship also inspired the creation of judaiser conventicles
in three major Monasteries in the Coimbra district, where a relatively large number of nuns held cult meetings and paid homage to Friar Diogo as a martyr of the Law of Moses.
After several years of activity, the Fellowship was investigated and dismantled by the Inquisition. Most of its members were arrested and sentenced. Dr AntOnio Homem was himself taken into custody, charged with heresy and apostasy, as well as sodomy (he was a known paederast), and finally handed over to the secular arm for execution.
His dream of building up a judaiser community in Coimbra was shattered. The Fellowship members who survived either left the country and joined the orthodox Jewish communities in the Netherlands and elsewhere, or stayed in Portugal and gradually lost their Jewish consciousness. Descendants
of some of them can still be found near Coimbra
Mini-review: Epidemiology and zoonotic potential of multiresistant bacteria and Clostridium difficile in livestock and food
[english] Aim: Information on the epidemiology of multiresistant bacteria (MRB) with zoonotic potential is growing but still remains quite incomplete. This narrative mini-review provides a general overview of the epidemiology of the most important zoonotic MRB in cattle, swine and poultry in Europe.Methods: A literature search was conducted mainly on the PubMed website including articles published until April 2012. Results: Livestock-associated methicillin-resistant (LA-MRSA) especially poses a zoonotic risk to people working in close contact with livestock. These people may become carriers themselves and the hazard of transmission into health-care facilities needs surveillance. Extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) producing bacteria are widely spread in both humans and livestock, sharing similar genotypes, especially of the CTX-M-group, which makes a zoonotic transfer very likely. Identical strains of vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) were found both in humans and animals, after ingestion of animal strains transient colonization of the human gut may be possible. Only a few data are available on the transmission of methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative staphylococci (MR-CoNS) between humans and animals. Direct contact to colonized animals may be a risk factor as well as the exchange of resistance genes between human and animal staphylococci. () ribotype 078 emerges in livestock and humans and a zoonotic transmission seems probable as genotypes and diseases resemble each other.Conclusion: All discussed MRB and are important nosocomial agents which also occur in livestock and were found in foods of animal origin. Further analysis is needed to reveal the exact transmission routes and to perform a reliable risk assessment
