Regulation of a subset of release-ready vesicles by the presynaptic protein Mover
Neurotransmitter release occurs by regulated exocytosis from synaptic vesicles (SVs). Evolutionarily conserved proteins mediate the essential aspects of this process, including the membrane fusion step and priming steps that make SVs release-competent. Unlike the proteins constituting the core fusion machinery, the SV protein Mover does not occur in all species and all synapses. Its restricted expression suggests that Mover may modulate basic aspects of transmitter release and short-term plasticity. To test this hypothesis, we analyzed synaptic transmission electrophysiologically at the mouse calyx of Held synapse in slices obtained from wild-type mice and mice lacking Mover. Spontaneous transmission was unaffected, indicating that the basic release machinery works in the absence of Mover. Evoked release and vesicular release probability were slightly reduced, and the paired pulse ratio was increased in Mover knockout mice. To explore whether Mover’s role is restricted to certain subpools of SVs, we analyzed our data in terms of two models of priming. A model assuming two SV pools in parallel showed a reduced release probability of so-called “superprimed vesicles” while “normally primed” ones were unaffected. For the second model, which holds that vesicles transit sequentially from a loosely docked state to a tightly docked state before exocytosis, we found that knocking out Mover selectively decreased the release probability of tight state vesicles. These results indicate that Mover regulates a subclass of primed SVs in the mouse calyx of Held

Αυτό αποτελεί επιτακτική ανάγκη, μιας και η χρήση των υπηρεσιών ηλεκτρονικής διακυβέρνησης έχει ήδη αυξηθεί τους τελευταίους μήνες, και αναμένεται να αυξηθεί περαιτέρω στο ερχόμενο έτος, λόγω της κρίσης της πανδημίας του κορωναϊού, η οποία θα περιορίσει τις μετακινήσεις των πολιτών στην Ελλάδα.E-government services use in Greece has increased in recent years. The aim of this study is to investigate use levels of ERMIS portal, as well as the evaluation of its services provided by citizens in Greece. An electronic survey was took place using a structured questionnaire in a total of 100 citizens. The results initially indicated that among e government websites, these of ministries and municipalities / regions had the highest user traffic, with the main reason for the visit being the information on issues of interest, and then the submission of an application to a public body. About 2 in 3 citizens stated that they were aware of ERMIS portal, however just over 1 in 2 stated they had visited it in the past, with the main reason for visiting was about to receive information on supporting documents and applications and then, was the submission of an application to public bodies and the information on issues of interest. When users were asked to rate the services provided by ERMIS portal, the highest degree of agreement was recorded in terms of the availability of the portal, and then in terms of the security they feel while browsing, the accuracy of the information and the ease of submission of applications. Citizens seemed to agree with the fact that the search for a topic of interest in ERMIS portal is easy, with the fact that they are satisfied with the portal and with the ease of navigation and user-friendliness. The participants were neutral in terms of the good adaptation of the portal to the needs of the users, but also in relation to the adequacy of the information presented. These results indicate that the technical characteristics of ERMIS portal should be improved in order user satisfaction to increase. This is imperative, as e-government services use has already increased in recent months, and is expected to increase further next year, due to the crisis of the coronavirus pandemic, which restricts the mobility of citizens in Greece and worldwide.8

Through the use of Information and Communication Technologies we are experiencing a digital transformation, having access to a range of data aimed at utilizing services from both the private and public sectors. In all advanced countries, Public Administration is making extensive use of new technologies to support both its internal operations and its communication with citizens. The New Public Management principles focus on the citizen and their needs. In the past, it was the State that demanded and the citizen who had to implement. However, nowadays the State not only administers the citizenry, but also began serving them. Recognizing its ever-changing needs, it aims to provide them with better quality value-added services by delivering them with multiple communication channels. In this context, e-Government promotes actions in line with the philosophy of a citizen-centric approach of administration. The central ERMIS Public Administration Web Portal is one of the most important e-Government actions aimed at facilitating the daily life of citizens and bringing Public Administration up to date. The Portal ERMIS was designed to meet the citizen's request for an "on-call administration", which is available 24/7 and serves the citizen not only in normal conditions, but especially in critical situations.ΠΜΣ Νομική και Διοικητική Επιστήμη, κατεύθυνση Διοικητική Επιστήμη και Δημόσιο Μάνατζμεν

Field equations are based on the Timoshenko beam theory, and the exact curvatures of the hyperboloidal geometry are considered through the formulation. The numerical analysis is carried out by the mixed finite element method, considering the rotary inertia, in the Laplace space, and the results are transformed back to time space numerically using the modified Durbin's algorithm. A cantilevered hyperboloidal helical rod having solid circular, hollow circular, and thin-walled hollow circular cross sections is handled, and the rod is loaded by rectangular and triangular impulsive types of point load at the tip. Through the analysis, different values of retardation time, three different relaxation functions associated with shear modulus, and three different creep functions associated with bulk modulus are handled. Finally, a benchmark example is presented, and the influence of the loading and the material parameters on the helix geometry is discussed.Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey [111M308]; Research Foundation of ITU [38078]The author(s) disclosed receipt of the following financial support for the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article: This research is supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey under project no. 111M308 and Research Foundation of ITU under project no. 38078

Multi-agent Planning and Coordination for Automated Aircraft Ground Handling
Inspired by the vision of fully autonomous airside operations at Schiphol airport, this study aims to contribute to the short-term goal of automated aircraft ground handling. In this research, we design and evaluate a multi-agent system for planning of automated ground handling. There are two main components in the system, task allocation optimization, and multi-agent path planning. To allocate tasks to ground support equipment (GSE) vehicles, an auction mechanism inspired by temporal sequential single item (TeSSI) auction is proposed. Ground handling tasks scheduling for GSE vehicles is modeled as several single-vehicle pickup and delivery optimization problems (SPDP), and the values of the objective functions are applied to generate bids for GSE vehicle agents in the auction. Moreover, Prioritized Safe Interval Path Planning for large agents (LA-SIPP) is used to plan collision-free paths for GSE vehicle agents in the model to execute tasks. Experimental studies have shown that the system is able to perform task allocation and path planning of ground handling tasks for flights in 3 aircraft stands within a 4-hour time in a reasonable computational time. Moreover, the model is capable to replan the tasks for agents when disruption happens. Applying the lowest possible numbers of vehicles used in the current operation, the model can always reach success allocation and path planning rates higher than 81% and 98%, respectively.Aerospace Engineerin
The Calculation of Mass Attenuation Coefficients of Well-Known Thermoluminescent Dosimetric Compounds at Wide Energy Range
32nd International Physics Congress of Turkish-Physical-Society (TPS) -- SEP 06-09, 2016 -- Bodrum, TURKEYThe photon mass attenuation coefficients of LC BaSO3, CaCO3 and CaSOzi thermoluminescent dosimetric compounds at 100; 300; 500; 600; 800; 1,000; 1,500; 2,000; 3,000 and 5,000 keV gamma-ray energies were calculated. For this purpose, FLUKA Monte Carlo (MC) program which is one of the well-known MC codes was used in this study. Furthermore, obtained results were analyzed by means of ROOT program. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) values were also used to compare the obtained theoretical values because the mass attenuation values of the used compounds could not found in the literature. Calculated mass attenuation coefficients were highly in accordance with the NIST values. As a consequence, FLUKA was successful in calculating the mass attenuation coefficients of the most used thennoluminescent compound.Turkish Phys SocEge UniversityEge University [2014 FEN 026]The Author thanks to Dr. E. Chaos theory in digital twin-based facility management for maintenance and retrofitting
Drawing inspiration from a well-known mathematical theory that was never holistically considered for the built environment and left for use in other engineering disciplines, this research investigates the Chaos Theory (CT) and its potential which remained overlooked in asset management. Facility Management (FM) is one of the most dynamic phases of an asset’s lifecycle, and with Digital Twin (DT) technology enhancing data collection, new opportunities arise to model FM dynamics using CT. FM systems interact with pre and post phases, involving numerous parameters that generate multiple system paths, making control and prediction challenging. Additionally, these processes often tolerate imperfections, rely on human-driven decisions, and involve multiple stakeholders with unclear scopes, adding complexity. CT, by capturing sensitivity to initial conditions and emergent behaviours, provides a framework to analyze these challenges. DT integrates diverse data sources while retrofitting and maintenance act as key tools for adjusting system parameters.
In the first chapter, the aim is to identify the framework, unique problems & objectives, and provide definitions by addressing key questions while considering the built environment as a complex and dynamic system.
The second chapter is for reviewing the principles and applications of CT, exploring its relevance to complex systems and practical use. It then examines DT-based FM considering chaotic features, detailing its components, framework, and role in maintenance, retrofitting, and managing chaotic behaviours in FM systems.
The third chapter demonstrates the system parameters and their evolution within the FM model. Using MATLAB, it presents numerical simulation results, analyzes the system’s dynamics, and explores how these findings can be applied operationally to improve FM strategies.
The last chapter summarizes key findings and challenges while providing data-driven insights into the opportunities of this CT-based approach. It outlines connections with other disciplines, and potential research areas supported by examples on both implementation difficulties and future possibilities
