Resistência do Movimento Estudantil ao contrato de gestão pelas organizações sociais na educação do estado de Goiás
Get PDFDissertação (mestrado)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade de Educação, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação, 2018.Esta pesquisa apresentou a Resistência do Movimento Estudantil ao Contrato de Gestão pelas Organizações Sociais na Educação Pública do Estado de Goiás com o objetivo de apontar elementos reflexivos sobre a participação política e ação coletiva do movimento estudantil nessa unidade federativa. Nesse contexto, apresentamos as Ocupações das Unidades Públicas de Ensino no estado em questão, sendo os estudantes secundaristas apontados como sujeitos da pesquisa, por meio de abordagens nos locais de ocupação promovidas pelos mesmos. Apresentamos uma breve história do Movimento Estudantil no Brasil e, em especial, analisamos o Movimento “Secundaristas em Luta” no Estado de Goiás, especificamente na cidade de Goiânia, o qual realizou diversas ocupações em escolas como forma de resistência à privatização da Educação. Nesse sentido, o texto apresenta essa luta do Movimento Estudantil à implantação da Parceria Público Privada nesse Estado. Utilizamos entrevistas semiestruturadas com os estudantes secundaristas e análise de conteúdo para tratamento dos dados em categorias. Além das entrevistas, fizemos uso das postagens nas redes sociais como formas de expressão da juventude organizada, o que foi possível explorando as páginas relativas às ocupações das Unidades Públicas de Ensino. Ademais, realizamos a escuta dos estudantes (acampados ou em outros espaços de movimento estudantil) e sustentamos que o movimento de ocupações das escolas foi marcado pela abordagem crítico-emancipatória, com uma proposta de superação de uma abordagem instrumental, hegemônica e conservadora. Nessa perspectiva, surgem perguntas norteadoras da pesquisa: Como e por que aconteceu a ocupação das escolas, realizada pelo movimento estudantil no Estado de Goiás, no período de dezembro de 2015 a fevereiro de 2016? Estamos diante de um novo paradigma de luta? Que luta foi essa e o que ela representa para a Educação? Para dar cabo dessas questões, recorremos à pesquisa bibliográfica, entrevista com estudantes nos locais de ocupação e debates construídos pelos Secundaristas nas redes sociais.This research presents the Resistance of the Student Movement to the Contract of Management by Social Organizations in the Public Education of the State of Goiás, with the aim of indicating reflective elements about the political participation and collective action of the student movement in this federative unit. In this context, we introduce the Occupations of Public Educational Units in the above-mentioned state, considering the high school students as research subjects, through approaches made to the sites where occupations were encouraged by them. We provide a brief history of the Student Movement in Brazil, particularly analyzing the Movement “Secundaristas em Luta” in the state of Goiás, specifically in the city of Goiânia, which carried out several occupations in schools as a means of resistance against the privatization of Education. In this regard, the text presents the struggle of the Student Movement against the implementation of the Public-Private Partnership in this state. We used semi-structured interviews with the high school students and content analysis to organize the data into categories. In addition to the interviews, we also made use of the posts on social networks as forms of expression of the organized youth, which was possible by exploring the pages related to the occupations of Public Educational Units. Moreover, we listened to the students (camped or in other spaces of the student movement) and we support that the movement of occupations of the schools was marked by the critical-emancipatory approach, with a proposal of overcoming an instrumental, hegemonic and conservative approach. From this perspective, questions arise that guide the research: How and why did the occupation of the schools, carried out by the student movement in the State of Goiás from December 2015 to February 2016, happen? Are we facing a new paradigm of struggle? What was this struggle and what does it represent for Education? Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
