No full textMumtaz Mufti (1905-1995) was basically a fiction writer but he has shown his essence in the field of character sketching and has left four collection in this field. The first one is “Peyaz ky Chelky”(1968), second is “Uokhy log”(1986),third is “Aor Uokhy log”(1990) and the fourth one is “Uokhy Awalry”(1995). In these collections he wrote character sketches of literary personalities, Who were also Mumtaz mufti’s close friends and they had spent most of their time together. I (the research scholar) have done a psychological analysis of these literary personalities with the help of these character sketches.

Amir Menai, 01 Maktoob by Maulana Altaf Hussain dedicated to Nawab Syed Ali
Hasan, 23 Makateeb by Nawab Mohsen-un-Mulk, 2 Makateeb by Jalal Lakhnawi, 44 by
Alama Shibli Naumani, 10 by Shaad Azim Abadi , 5 by Syed Ahmad Dehlvi and 49
Makateeb by Alama Iqbal. All these Makateeb are outstanding examples of Urdu
poetry and prose
